I truly enjoy coming to DDF. They offer many fitness classes for varying skill levels. DDF…read morespecializes in pole fitness, floor work, and chair dancing. They also offer classes like stretch, yoga, mixed fit, Zumba and more. If you want to build on your skill set this is the studio for you. I focus on the cirque sensual side of the studio (so acro chair, aerial hoop, and pole silks). It's a lot of fun and I have progressed since I began almost 2 years ago. I just wish there were more classes and levels offered within the cirque membership. It's been great working with the current instructors. Though I miss many of the old instructors, each instructor - old and new - brings their own uniqueness and fun to the studio.

I purchased a package of yoga classes from Groupon. The owner was kind enough to apply the package to my account, which I appreciated. Originally, I was supposed to be able to book the classes directly through Groupon, but I was unable to do so. Not a big deal. However, what is a big deal, is the fact that on the same day that the package was applied to my account, I informed the owner that I would be attending a class. I registered for the class and everything through the app. It is nice that they have their own app. However, Things started to crumble when I actually arrived. I register for the class less than two hours before it started. Actually, I think it was within an hour. When I arrived, there was no greeting when I entered the building. There was a young woman sitting at a desk on a computer. I informed her it was my first time and asked what I needed to do. She checked me in, but said nothing else. She didn't indicate if I should wait, go back to the class, what was going on. So, I sat down next to another woman who had a yoga mat. About 10 minutes later, and definitely after the scheduled start of class, another woman came in with a yoga mat and proceeded to walk right through the door next to the desk. At that point, we realize that maybe we were able to go back. So, we started to. However, in order to get to the back room where yoga is held, you have to walk-through to pole/chair dancing classes. I hate walking through other people's classes that are actively taking place. But whatever. It would've been fine if we hadn't been made to wait because they were recording videos of the dancers.Like... I'm already late. PLEASE. So, we eventually find our way to the yoga room, which is really a pole room but it has enough space for yoga. As soon as we entered, an instructor made note of the fact that we would not be needing our yoga mats today. I was immediately annoyed and confused. Why would I not need a yoga mat for a yoga class? It was at that point that she informed us that we would be participating in a "chair one "class because the yoga instructor asked her to sub. Now, remember, when I said that I had just booked the class? You don't think the owner knew this? You don't think she should've maybe mentioned that to me as the person who clearly had signed up for yoga for a reason? And the chair one class was nothing like what I had hoped for. It was not a chair dance class. It was a "cardio" class for people with mobility issues. Based on the looks of things, nobody in that class had mobility issues. I was so tight. I ended up doing all of the exercises standing up because I was already there and needed to work out. I absolutely left with an attitude. However, I try to give small businesses, grace. I came back the next week. And when I did, I experienced a yoga flow that was confusing, and not relaxing at all. In fact, during the entire flow, you could hear the ex excessively loud and upbeat music from the chair and pole classes. And, the instructor kept having issues with the sound during our session. I did not like the flow, I did not like the cues. This wouldn't have even been a good intro to yoga class for someone who has never done it before. There was just too much unprofessional behavior here. And I absolutely would not recommend.

I really enjoyed the owner and instructor Roberta Rothstein. The class moved at a quick pace, but there was absolutely no judgment. In fact Roberta and the students were very helpful. I got a good workout and a great mental challenge. This class was less expensive than most of the drop-in in yoga and dance classes in the city. I love the environment and I've been practicing my dance moves all day. Highly recommend!

After finding other nearby exercise barre classes disappointing, I decided to try Momentum. I took Momentum Barre and Classical Jazz classes for the rest of my stay in D.C.! Roberta is not only a fantastic dance teacher but also super welcoming; she immediately made me feel at home in her studio. Every class was enjoyable thanks to the great rapport she develops with her students. I always left feeling like I had lots of fun and worked my body well. Strongly recommend this studio to all lifelong, new, and re-starting dancers!

Our experience with Five 678 Studio of Dance--particularly the Dream Dance Company--has been…read morefrustrating, disheartening, and deeply disappointing. While the studio presents a polished image on social media, the reality behind the scenes is one of disorganization, ineffective operations, and a toxic culture far from the nurturing environment it claims to offer. Ownership/creative director is not receptive to feedback and fails to show the professionalism expected of a business serving children and families. Communication is riddled with errors--emails frequently contain misspellings and grammatical mistakes, and essential information is often shared without clarity. This lack of precision carries over into physical products as well. Studio-branded swag, often produced or approved by the director, has been delivered with typos like "stuidio," delayed with no updates, or never received at all--despite full payment. Billing is another ongoing concern. Families are routinely mischarged for small items, with errors excused as simple oversights and rarely corrected unless challenged. Costume pricing is also questionable. Items sourced from fast-fashion retailers like Fashion Nova are marked up significantly, sometimes with vendor tags still attached. Leaving original labels visible while upcharging parents shows a lack of respect for families investing their time and money into the program. A particularly troubling example of poor operations was the studio closure during the height of competition season. Following a scheduled one-week spring break, the studio added another full week of unplanned closure to facilitate a move. Families were asked to help with the relocation while dancers were told to "practice at home." No makeup classes were offered, and no tuition adjustment was made despite the disruption to training and instruction during a critical period. Instructionally, the studio falls short. Dancers receive limited rehearsal time, and there is little focus on proper technique, stretching, or injury prevention. Injuries are common and are often dismissed without adequate support. On competition days, instructors are frequently disengaged--eating or socializing instead of coaching. While other studios rehearse and prepare their dancers, Five 678's students are left waiting, unprepared and anxious. There is no indication of continuing education for instructors, resulting in inconsistent and outdated teaching. More concerning are repeated reports of the owner making inappropriate or upsetting remarks to dancers, followed by instructions not to tell their parents. This creates an emotionally unsafe environment that damages the trust between families and the studio. The culture is toxic and exclusionary. Staff behavior often reflects favoritism, gossip, and cliques. Staff without dance backgrounds have been overheard critiquing dancers' abilities--behavior that is both unprofessional and damaging to young girls' confidence and well-being. The ownership/creative director plays a central role in this atmosphere. She has been observed belittling dancers in front of others, and when families raise concerns or consider leaving, they are sometimes met with guilt tactics such as, "You're hurting a Black-owned business," or told the studio "prefers quality over quantity." These comments are manipulative and inappropriate, especially when directed at children and paying families. Even some staff appear to recognize the dysfunction but remain silent out of fear of retaliation. Several have quietly pursued opportunities elsewhere while keeping their plans private, likely to avoid becoming targets of the same divisive behavior directed at others who've spoken up. What should be a positive, growth-oriented space has become a source of stress and discouragement for many families. Until the ownership/creative director takes meaningful steps to address operational shortcomings and foster a healthier culture, Five 678 Studio of Dance cannot be recommended as a professional or supportive environment for young dancers - especially girls.

I discovered Five678 online, read the reviews, and thought, "You know what, let me see for myself." As someone who was once a ballet dancer overseas and an AAU Basketball mom, I understand how parents can sometimes feel frustrated, so I knew it was best to experience things firsthand. Fast forward four years--starting with Ballet, then Jazz and Tap, Ballet again, and now Hip Hop--my granddaughter has blossomed! She is now confident, thriving, and exploring diverse genres of dance. I truly hope and pray that the school continues to be blessed, overcoming any challenges with the same grace and respect it has always shown. Thank you for everything you do. I appreciate you deeply, and if there is ever anything you need, please do not hesitate to reach out. I will help in any way I can.

Today, my kid was turned away because the kids club was at capacity due to poor planning, crappy ratios and the staff's inability to look at the schedule, look at who's registered for classes, look at who in those classes has a kid's membership and go from there. When I raised concerns with the staff and front desk, I was met with attitude and told to call guest services if I need help. This was what Ivan said after he said "we can remove the service for you right here" before he doubled down and threw a card on the counter and told me to call guest services. Additionally, one of the inept employees in the kids club, misidentified me as the parent who cussed her out and was hostile. I wasn't hostile - I made a few faces and asked specific, pointed questions. Y'all can't handle it because you don't know how to work under pressure and weren't given talking points? Fine. Be mad then, sis. Don't care. So, Ivan wanted to play savior and "write my name down" so that he could "determine what to do." FOH. Don't get mad at me when I ask legitimate questions about your policies that are not posted. Further, when you elevate your voice, don't get mad at me when I do the same. I have never had a positive experience here with the management team. I have filed multiple complaints and addressed multiple concerns and have never been followed up with. Ever. I have already requested cancellation of both of my memberships, and a refund. This gym is a hot mess. The management team is terrible. Spare yourself. And they're anti-Black American. I've had multiple experiences that demonstrate that: -no acknowledgment of Juneteenth in similar ways as July 4, despite it being a majority Black club -prior to opening, the guy whose last name is Tillman spoke about the fact that they don't have a gym because "this is PG COUNTY and all the thugs would show up sagging" -ongoing interactions I've witnessed and experienced between myself and the management team
