The nautical decor here is pitifully over-done, a niche business maybe in some way, but those thoughts are buried in the tales from the old shop reviewed here, you can still see the old decaying abandoned building on a seaside street on the edge of town. I entered this new shop without reservations even after listening to a pair of customers exiting the business filled with disappointment. I had no prior knowledge or bias, so I own my opinion expressed here. There was no interaction with the staff, she seemed pre-occupied behind the counter sitting with her back to the customers the entire time. I live near a beach so I completely understand the seafaring theme but I had no idea by the store name that I was entering a shop with such a narrow focus so I guess that was my biggest disappointment besides the pricing, I felt the quality of a lot of the pieces didn't match the asking price but then again nothing here had me drooling to negotiate a better price. I walked the entire property in under fifteen minutes which was plenty of time to view everything including a little room off the main floor that was partially filled with Native American art and trinkets, personally I wouldn't have a reason to stop in again...

We waited around 20 minutes for a table, grabbed two beers from the bar, and sat outside while we waited. Once seated, we were "greeted" by our server, and that interaction set the tone for the rest of the evening. She was rude, short, and overall unpleasant. She never checked in after any course, seemed uninterested in our experience, and at times even slammed food onto the table. Every interaction felt rushed, and as soon as she came by, she was quick to disappear. It felt like she had no concern for our satisfaction throughout the meal. We had planned on staying for dessert and another round of drinks, but honestly felt uncomfortable doing so. When we asked for a box, she already had the check in hand. While I understand wanting to be efficient and prepared, given her attitude throughout the night it came across more like she was trying to rush us out than provide good service. The food truly was excellent, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, we did not get her name, but she was blonde and wearing a pink shirt. I get being busy but this was simply not the case.

Boy, they didn't disappoint and were on it in all phases tonight. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a cheerful staff. They asked where we wanted to sit and then one of the hostesses took us to our seats. From there Bri took over!!! She was very polite and knowledgeable of the menu. She told us about the specials and also items she recommended. We had the calamari to start. It was light, crispy and paired great with the two dipping sauces that accompanied it. Then we had the dinner special which was the blackened redfish in a delicious tomato sauce and the Parmesan flounder. We also had the mashed potatoes, red beans and rice and hushpuppies. Everything was delicious! The fish was cooked to perfection and the sauces on both dishes were amazing. The red beans and rice were way better than anything in New Orleans. It was flavorful and had plenty of sausage to put everything together. The mashed potatoes were very good also. If I had to say something needed a little help, I would say add just a little butter to those potatoes and they will be even better. We had dessert to go and I had the dream pie. I can't say enough about this pie. Bri told me I would love it and she was correct. It is definitely a must on my next visit. It was savory and creamy at the same time. If you're in the area, please put this restaurant on your list. You won't be disappointed. Ask for Bri!! She is amazing and also the young ladies at the front were the best group of hostesses that I've seen in a long time. Oh, the live music and as also great.

We looked up reviews and came across Bud & Alley's Restaurant as a likely way to do so. We were quite pleased with our experience once we found a table. When we arrived where you could make a reservation for a table downstairs, we were told the better views were upstairs with tables available for anyone who found them. We walked around for a while looking for a table opening up and though we didn't find any tables on the deck upstairs, we did find one with a gorgeous view well before sunset. The server being one of only a few there that night checked on us many times and was very helpful. We each ordered drinks. I got a Frozen Beach Bellini consisting of Lamarca prosecco with peach purée topped with an edible orchid. Then, when ordering dinner, my friend and I each ordered an eight ounce filet mignon consisting of grilled asparagus, Yukon mashed potatoes, and bordelaise sauce. My wife ordered a roasted salmon consisting of green lentils with pancetta and fennel, arugula, and dijon vinaigrette. We were quite delighted with everything we ate and drank! Bud & Alley's has been an award winning iconic restaurant in Seaside Florida since 1986, serving delicious farm- and fish-to-table food, offering exceptional service and making seaside memories for generations. My experience at Bud & Alley's in Seaside, Florida was extremely disappointing. For a place with…read moresuch a strong reputation and high prices, the quality and overall experience were nowhere near what we expected. First, the seating situation was frustrating. Our "table" was literally a small fold-out table, which felt more like something you'd see at a temporary event rather than at a well-known restaurant. Considering how expensive everything on the menu is, the seating arrangement felt cheap and poorly planned. The food itself was another major letdown. When our meals arrived, they were already cold, which made it seem like they had been sitting out for a while before being brought to the table. For the prices they charge, you would expect fresh, hot food that's prepared with care, but that definitely wasn't the case. Overall, the pricing was extremely high for the quality of food and the level of service we received. Between the cold food, the uncomfortable fold-out table, and the overall lack of value, the experience just didn't live up to the hype. Unfortunately, it's not a place I would return to or recommend.
