Came in for lunch today. I wanted to see what the burger special was about. The place is decked out nice for the sports enthusiast. The decor is real nice and the TV's are placed in a great area. I had a cup of gumbo which had just the right amount of seasoning and kick. The chicken and sausage were all through. I also had the burger which was seasoned and not overcooked. The fried pickles took it over the top. On Sunday's, they have live music during brunch. This is definitely on the list to revisit!!!

Normally always good. Fries were salty as all get out! Burger was ok just tasted like fake meat. Definitely a frozen patty taste . Pasta was gross this time too much Cajun seasoning.

Food here never fails. It's always the oysters for me. My girls go with the children finger(which are stupid big ). That fried seafood basket is also excellent. If there was one thing I wish they'd add to the menu, it's hush puppies ....for that, I'd take 1/10 of one star off of that review but it won't let me

Great food. I had the blackened grouper with crawfish etouffee. Wow, the flavors were perfect, highly recommend. The bread pudding was also really good and HUGE, perfect for sharing. Friendly, helpful staff helped make the meal relaxed and comfortable

This may be the best restaurant in the area surrounding Panama City Beach, the New Orleans style cuisine served here rival most that attempt to dish out great food with a touch of Cajun and a lot of Naw Orleans. I ate here twice while visiting the area and both were amazing - the service here is exceptional and as important as that is it's the food that had me coming back. The cooking here is authentic, we shared a variety of dishes here and all exceeded our expectations, the quality of the oysters was amazing as were the gumbo, étouffée, fried catfish, roast beef po-boy and beignets. The prices are very reasonable, the beers are ice cold and crafted cocktails are on point. The staff here during both our visits were professional, knowledgeable and attentive this shows the level of management in place here, I loved that the staff here was familiar with each dish and provided an accurate description of each when asked. If you have plans to visit PCB you need to bookmark this one, the restaurant is beautiful and very clean, on our second visit we were fortunate to arrive just as the live entertainment was setting up - I believe it was "Limited Edition" they were awesome and the volume was set perfect not to over-whelm our dining experience - if I return to the area this will be my first stop...

I dream about the chargrilled oysters here!! The best I have ever had! The gumbo was excellent and I had the grouper. It was so delicious! My husband had the Who dat and the bread pudding. The atmosphere was fun and live music was playing. It's a family friendly restaurant. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. It was very crowded so we sat at the bar and that was a great experience! Sat right in front of the grill where I could keep my eye on the oysters! I highly recommend this place! Everything was delicious!

This place was so good that I had to try it again. This time we dined on the patio instead of inside. The food was wonderful. The service was perfection and the patio are is really a nice touch. It's not overly crowded like some and the live music was great. We tried the "Whodat" which is the house version of a muffuletta and it was great. The grilled shrimp over rice was perfectly cooked and the sides of green beans & collard greens had just the right touch of Cajun seasoning. The chocolate martinis were a great holiday season treat. This is definitely a place you could go regularly and never get tired of the extensive menu.

Tapping into my Cajun roots, I had to try Dat Cajun Place while in Panama City Beach. For starters, we ordered the boudin balls and gumbo soup. The boudin balls were filling, with a tangy "Voodoo Sauce" (think Raising Cane's sauce) and the gumbo was fairly spicy, though nothing can match my Mississippi uncle's homemade gumbo. I had the Shrimp Pontchartrain as a main course and let me say it was so, so creamy. I wouldn't order it again due to how rich it was, but I still liked it, ya know? I loved the dessert, which was a decadent butter coffee cake! My Cajun ancestors would be proud of Dat Cajun Place!

Hook and cook fish ($9.99 per pound with 2 sides per pound) minus a decent portion (grouper, snapper, mangrove)

We've tried just about everything over the years, and not once have we been disappointed. It's hard to believe I haven't reviewed them before now, but what Bayou lacks in beachfront views, it more than makes up for with consistently great food, cold drinks, and friendly service - all at reasonable prices. A couple things to know before you go: they're closed Sundays and Mondays, don't take reservations or call-ahead seating, and they stay busy. If you show up after 5:45pm, expect a bit of a wait - but grabbing a drink at the bar and catching up with your group at the picnic tables on the open patio is all part of the experience.
