My wife and I have been going almost every year since we moved to Florida over a decade ago. This…read moreyear was the worst I have seen from a price and quality standpoint. Raw oysters now at $10/dozen (when they were $4 not too long ago; they looked like they had been shucked days ago -tough, rubbery, not ANYTHING like the ones they used to get. The number of artists and craft folks have dwindled and what remains is mostly crap. Have tried for three years to buy a Festival long sleeve T shirt - I am a XXL, pretty typical size yet they have never seemed fit to order any in that size - except for this year when they had them in pink. At least we went on the Friday and didn't get hit with the admission charge. Cedar Key's festival is much better attended with better local food and plenty of artists and craft folks This was our last Florida Seafood festival in Apalachicola

We had to pay the full $5 admission even though we arrived on the last day after 4PM. We arrived at the eating seating area, it was a mess! Tables have probably never been cleaned, lots of old food and trash. We spotted 2 chairs and asked to sit there, the couple said it was their children's seats, who were playing! I guess my look gave her the impression that we need a seat to eat, we are almost in our 70's and have a service dog! The food....we got a fish and coconut shrimp platter to share. The french fries were stone cold and the shrimp as well with the added bonus of dripping in grease. To top things off (I am not a fan of porta potties) but, had to go, BIG mistake, filthy!!!! We will continue going to the Keys, Tampa, and other quality events! Oh and our nasty meal was a whopping $20!!!
