The nautical decor here is pitifully over-done, a niche business maybe in some way, but those thoughts are buried in the tales from the old shop reviewed here, you can still see the old decaying abandoned building on a seaside street on the edge of town. I entered this new shop without reservations even after listening to a pair of customers exiting the business filled with disappointment. I had no prior knowledge or bias, so I own my opinion expressed here. There was no interaction with the staff, she seemed pre-occupied behind the counter sitting with her back to the customers the entire time. I live near a beach so I completely understand the seafaring theme but I had no idea by the store name that I was entering a shop with such a narrow focus so I guess that was my biggest disappointment besides the pricing, I felt the quality of a lot of the pieces didn't match the asking price but then again nothing here had me drooling to negotiate a better price. I walked the entire property in under fifteen minutes which was plenty of time to view everything including a little room off the main floor that was partially filled with Native American art and trinkets, personally I wouldn't have a reason to stop in again...

Bird & Goose is the most adorable shop in downtown Port St. Joe! Not only did they have the cutest cheetah pjs but they had the best quilted cheetah bag ever! My daughter snuck back in with my husband later that day and bought it for me! They have boutique type clothing and items and they also do permanent jewelry if that's your thing. Definitely a must stop if you're hanging in Port St. Joe! Grab a coffee at The Joe and shop til your hearts content!

I just knew I was going to embarrass myself and probably get laughed at. Well I walked in and said I wanted to fish but never had in the ocean before. The guy hoped up and we went around the shop to every section and he explained one by one what everything did and all the options. After he explained the options he made suggestions but let me choose whatever I wanted from his advice. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Also as I went around to other shops in the area and saw their lesser selection and prices I knew this place blew them away. They earned a customer for every visit I do to St George Island
