With a mermaid statue calling me from across the street, I checked it out. Tin Shed is an antique and curio shop with all sorts of interesting stuff. Some of it obviously nautical themed but the rest of it just seems jumbled. Prices on most items were marked and while some of it was more pricey than I wanted to spend today, it was definitely a curious shop. If you're looking to outfit your den with anchors and buoys and life savers, this is the spot. I was not disturbed during my browse, which was nice. I just knew I was going to embarrass myself and probably get laughed at. Well I walked in and said I wanted to fish but never had in the ocean before. After he explained the options he made suggestions but let me choose whatever I wanted from his advice. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Also as I went around to other shops in the area and saw their lesser selection and prices I knew this place blew them away. They earned a customer for every visit I do to St George Island

Alright AW, you got me!…read more I almost passed this store up, as it is situated a little away from all the other stores and happenings. But I thought eh, why not, doesn't hurt to browse one last one. Who would have thought I'd end up purchasing an $18 sponge! There's a lot to look at here which is cool. Some things are pricey, and others reasonable. I was shocked that it was a cash only store (or at least this day it was). People don't carry loads of cash around anymore, so uhhh...they might need to change that. I liked their different infused cooking oils, wind chimes, peaches n cream soaps, and trinkets. My sponge is supposedly straight out of the gulf, is antimicrobial, and can last up to 7 years! Mmm hmm. We'll see about that! Sounds like an investment to me! And since I travel lots and it dries out fast, what the heck. I love all things natural, and this stop confirmed it for me. I mean...I went to Florida and bought a sponge.
