Samantha had been accepted at DSA and her middle school career was about to begin! She has been at the school as a theater major for almost 8 months now and I must say, I am most impressed. Actually impressed doesn't quite cover it. I am completely and utterly floored, flabbergasted and blown away.... The talent here is ridiculous and like Colin mentioned in his review, DSA offers some of the most wonderful plays, musicals, concerts and dance productions in the entire Metro area. Last night's performance was a Broadway review which the kids will actually perform downtown tonight for a big fund-raising gala for The Kempe Foundation. There are simple not enough ways to describe just how talented these kids are and how spectacular the show was. As the first act began and the young lady opened her mouth, my God the sound that came out was quite literally unreal. To be so young and so gifted it was enough to bring a person to tears. Things got better from there, which is hard to believe considering it started out at FANTASTIC! There were dancers and singers and actors which easily rival anything on Broadway. Numbers from Annie, and Hair, Joesph and the Technicolor Dream coat, Hair spay, and several others, for 10 bucks. It was a night for the record books, and as a mama so full of pride and awe I must say... my baby kicked some series Broadway booty last night. Way to go kiddo! So if you are looking for some raw and insane talent for a very reasonable price and feel like contributing to a great, local and PUBLIC school in Denver, get yourself on their newsletter list and ENJOY!!! Dear God, please give these people a piece of land so that they don't have to park on the grass and in intersections. If you build it, they will come.

So this is really something unique! The class size is small and you would build great relationship with all your professors. And the professors would go extra miles to help you for your academic success. And I'm now an educator in higher education myself and Lamont really shaped my teaching philosophy seeing how my professors treat the students. The tuition is expensive but they usually offer generous scholarships, and the tuition you pay worth every penny!

First of all, the theater itself is really pretty and I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Even the seats I thought would be blocked by the overhead lights become unblocked as the lights raised all the way to the ceiling at the beginning of the performance. During the intermissions you hang out in what I imagine should be called a great hall where you can drink sodas, beer, wine and water or have some snacks. I'm pretty sure they sell Fanta Orange, which equals Tiffany being a big fan. I love that stuff along with Welch's Grape. However, I drank wine since it was Friday and wine is like scissors over Fanta's paper. The actors rotate every other night and they come from schools across the country. Some of them had voices that made me think they should be on a very famously known stage in the opera world. Others were kind of hard to hear, but eh, they are students. Overall I really enjoyed it, but that may be because they have a translator screen above the stage that lets you know what they hell is going on when you can quite figure it out based on actions alone. **Disclosure: I am in no way a professional opera critic as this was the very first I've attended.

I really wanted to like this event…read more Went to the Christmas edition at the Stanley market. First of all it is crowded. you sit in the middle of the floor with the orchestra surrounding you. Sounds like a good idea but when it's crowded your child can't even see above the adult heads. The music selection was great (Xmas theme, live signing Santa, ballerinas) but my son (20 months) was just too young for it and it was too crowded. Afterwards we tried to converse with a few musicians but they were too preoccupied with preventing kids touching their instruments to really talk to us. The program boasts "hands on" and learning for the kids but it really depends on the musician that's performing that day. Maybe I'll give this another shot when it's not a Xmas performance and when my son is older

As a student of their certificate program her skills have grown by leaps and bounds over the last two years. The program is fun but also serious about giving students the skills to be successful. She has studied from some of the same books that are assigned to college acting students. Teachers know their stuff and are good at creating an environment that is safe and supportive but also pushes students to stretch into their capabilities. The school has also been amazing at helping us find opportunities and avoid pitfalls as she's become active in the local film community. It's great that they have different options to meet different needs. For my daughter the certificate program has been ideal, and has allowed her to also attend the workshops that are a good fit for someone who wants to work on skills without committing to more of a "career" type track. They also have camps, which we can't speak to since we haven't done one, and they have a group taking a trip to LA soon. She is passionate about acting and would like to pursue this as a career path. Her training at CSA has truly given her the acting skills and professionalism that have helped her to already have a solid resume and an excellent start on her journey as a professional actor.

If you are considering attending a concert put on by this group, please consider supporting one of the many other wonderful local orchestras in the region. This group/conductor does not deserve your support. They recently rebranded to "Symphony of the Rockies" to try to save face, so watch out. Just Google search "Arapahoe Philharmonic" and you'll see a number of articles describing exactly the situation I'm talking about.
