The best place in Denver to see an Improv show or take classes! Intimate theater. High quality shows. Very affordable prices.

The cast did a great job in longform improv. It's a very small and intimate theater, which is perfect for improv.

Walking up to the place, there were 2 older white guys who were comics or workers? They were smoking their cigs just staring with the weirdest, meanest looks. I was tempted to turn around and head back to my car. I'm glad I decided to ignore them and go in. I think the employee's name is Jack? He's a young, white guy and was already superbly friendly to the couple in front of me. When I went up to the ticket counter, super confused and anxious, he made the whole experience beyond wholesome. He turned my entire day around. It's crazy how a stranger can do that. Thank you!

There are also restaurants upstairs and nearby if you want to get a bite to eat first. Their policy for cell phones and smart watches where you need to put them in a sealed security bag is kind of a pain, but I'm guessing there's good reason for it. We might just leave everything at home or in the car next time. There is a two item minimum for each person, but we ended up with three each. My wife had two glasses of the house cab and one Butter Baby Java, which is a hot coffee drink with butterscotch schnapps and other stuff too. I had a house manhattan, which was ok, a Butter Baby Java, and one of the other coffee drinks...showed up as Coffee Tail on the receipt, but the name had more to it than that. That one was my favorite. Next time, I might just stick with that. All in all, fun night. Convenient to get to and home from, about as good service and drinks as you could expect, and funny comedians. Guessing we'll be back next time someone we like is in town.

It's a dive bar. It's a comedy stage. It's a music powerhouse. What is Lion's Lair, if not iconic?!…read more If you're looking for a place that's all heart, loud and proud, it is HERE. Anybody who's come out of Colorado to become a big name has gone through those doors to play on the little stage. From local to traveling acts, from punk bands and karaoke talent to gritty stand-up and flirty burlesque, this place has it. If you're up for a night that doesn't stink of ordinary, swing through that creaky door and take in a most memorable evening. If there is a cover, it's usually nominal. Drinks are cheap, served by a great crew that's always up for a laugh and cheers. Sometimes hitting the town isn't about getting fancy but just kicking back, and this is a great place to do just that off the mainstream treads.

The interior is small but I like how the bar is set up kind of in a rectangle so you're actually facing some other people (maybe awkward, but feels more communal?) They had an inexpensive menu of basic beers. They were out of the drink I wanted so the bartender made me a creation that I guess is something the doorman likes - not bad, and I think it was about $10 which is pretty decent for a mixed drink. I noticed a big red counter/clock on the wall across from us and after a few seconds we deduced it was a decibel meter. I'm curious if they have restrictions here for noise - AOK by me. The volume was generally alright (a little loud but what isn't?) and they actually had a sound guy in the corner making sure the volume and quality sounded good. Overall had a very decent Saturday night here.

Pros: The $65 VIP tickets are worth it because you get two drinks per ticket and the rotating appetizers. During our experience with a group of 6 we got 3 pretzel bites plates and 3 chicken wings plates. We were sitting directly in front of the comedian front row! Also parking with VIP tickets is great! We went through the alley and parked right at the door! Entrance was hard to kind but a staff me never came out to help us after we buzzed a button on the other doors. Also the headliner was really awesome my whole family loved it and it's great to see some big headliner here in springs and not have to travel to Denver. Also get the VIP tickets and DO show up early you get to sit in a private area and then they move you to the area where the show is. Another pro is that your own host is great because it is busy in there! It's is very clean and it looks very nice! It's modern and well decorated. Cons: Small tables for a group of six but it was manageable! Appetizers could be better. They are not the best but they were still really nice to have something to snack on! It was pretty crowded. And we were super close to stage where we kind of had to look up. We still enjoyed it but it would be nice to have more space between the table and stage
