Greetings! I can't say enough about Betr Health! Dr. Ferro's vision and leadership have created a program that truly changes lives. After a hysterectomy caused a severe hormonal imbalance, I gained over 70 pounds and found myself at risk for high blood pressure and diabetes. I also suffered for years with insomnia, hot flashes, night sweats, and constant exhaustion. After just 3 days of eating the whole healthy foods on the level 1 list, I woke up with no pain in my joints at all, I felt lighter, more energetic. After a month I've lost 10 pounds. That's not a lot but for me it's amazing. I have Hashimoto's and insulin resistance. It's been years since I've seen the scale move in the right direction. Update: They shifted me to a higher level nutritionist because new health issues came with new restrictions. The experience with the new nutritionist was ... painful. She didn't really listen, used very shaming language when discussing my health (I have a rare GENETIC disorder, my problems aren't caused by poor lifestyle choices, bad habits, or lack of commitment). When I asked how to manage this with a low oxalate foods, she basically said there's nothing that they can do for me "since you won't follow the program", but then the next interaction was plugging the more expensive ongoing coaching with prepared package meals. I was taken back that she was unwilling to work around the dietary guidelines given by my medical specialists (cardiologist: Mediterranean with healthy fats, gastrointestinal: high fiber and low oxalate, diabetes: low carbs, no simple carbohydrates). My first coach took time to research and guided me to recipes in their program and/or substitutes. She was excellent! The last few weeks were a terrible experience, very demoralizing and unnecessarily critical. Edit: Day 4 of trying to reach someone, I finally got a call!! Moises was excellent, ordered a replacement for my order, provided a gift card, and refunded my original meal order!! He also took the time to explain to me what happened which I truly value!!! Overall I've been enjoying the program, all the helpful advice for receipes and so forth. I've only been in the program a short while but I recently place an order for their meals, spent 367 dollars to use these meals in my meal plans. I ordered them with some of their vitamins and electrolyte drink Lyte-Up. All items say they were delivered on Monday, however the problem is I only received the Lyte-Up. I have been trying to contact them every way I can to figure out what happened and cannot get an actual person to help me with this issue at all!! Level one is great, after that, you really need the scale to be accurate and the technical team cannot get my scale reading correctly. Their software sends out multiple notifications of the wrong weight. I stand on the scale and it shows me a weight, and the immediate app notification shows a different number. The technology isn't up to par. Such a shame because there are so many good things about this program. I have contacted the tech team regarding this issue since week one. So relieved that I will not have this coach barrage me with absolutism, being defensive about the program and constantly blaming me for something new. To be a good program, you HAVE to acknowledge "Ok.. She didn't change up her protein from lunch to dinner a few times, but I wonder why she isn't losing weight? This program may not be for her".. Okay. Do pros and cons. Recipes great. Scale and daily weigh in great! Concept and if I could make the online groups (scheduled while I'm still working) I think those are great! But it's very confusing to log in food, AI is horrible. At first I thought I was talking to a person but it was a computer and was a very sort of lonely experience. All it said was " I will send your concerns back to the support team ". I tried to call the support because I had an appointment and the call did not ring through I saw it immediately and tried to get in touch with my coach so I could make the appointment but it was literally impossible . Called the number they provide, tried all 3 prompts and got absolutely nothing! More AI! So don't scorch a lot of support. It's kind of "a do it yourself I hope you're comfortable with Technology and don't miss one of our calls or you're SOL". I was having some struggles so really needed the coaching appointment. I was very upset as I'm a very busy person and I rearranged my day to make sure I was available for this. But they don't consider that. Anyway. So if you're good with Technology and going it generally alone or with an AI buddy to text, you'll live it. I'm gonna keep going I've just lowered my expectations on the support side. read more

Not impressed. I love the concept and basis for the program; the app, coach and process of carrying out the concepts are terrible. The app is not user friendly. There is too much going on and it's not easy to navigate. The word clouds are weird and don't really represent my food choices well. The app crashes frequently. The upsells are annoying. After expressing this to my coach she turned off marketing messages then no less than 5 minutes later she sent a canned message for the day that ended with "our BETR meal service is a great option, check it out!" I would be really mad if I had spent my own money for the program, thankfully my insurance company paid the bill. read more

I joined the BETR Health program through my insurance company. I have been on the program for 3 months and have never felt better! The plan is easy to follow and there is great support from my coach, the Betr Health community and Dr. Ferro. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables, non processed foods has helped ease my symptoms of Fibromyalgia and Long Covid. I feel like it's my duty to submit negative reviews when people need to hear the truth, but I will assert that the several negative reviews here are unwarranted. The program is a good one and - if truly followed - WILL show you weight loss, energy increase, joint pain relief, and better sleep, and very quickly. The reviews that mention no loss of weight, particularly, strongly suggest that the participant has done some fudging of the guidelines in water intake, food choices, logging, etc. I lost 8 lbs the first day of following the plan guidelines, then 3lbs each day after for a week. [No, it's not "water weight", considering one of the plan's guidelines is to consume 80-100oz of water a day (appx 3-5 lbs)]. The dietary guidelines are not hard to follow: 25% protein, 75% vegetables. There is an entire list of ingredients you can have and some of the recipes are my family's favorite dinners now. Some recipes are bleh, but I expect that when consuming natural foods that are trying to cater to every type of participant. The solution: Don't make that recipe. There are plenty of others. The coaching after an intro call is essentially a once-a day check in via text from your coach, who looks at your foods, intake, activity, etc. each day and lets you know if you're doing good or need to change things. They coaches manage multiple people and need to help hold every participant accountable, so I understand why they cannot always engage in deep text exchanges with every single one of them. They can also see if your progress suddenly goes off the rails and - provided you logged completely and honestly - can help you identify the dietary source of the issue. The app is fine, not stellar, yet, but few are and they've let me know of some the fixes that are already underway. They just announced an all-new feature this week where you can have workouts with realtime feedback like those $1000+ mirror devices that are being offered. 40 days later and I'm down 30lbs and - after that first 1-2 weeks of adjusting what myself and my family eats, is not hard to stick with and, after the first month, my brain is kind of retrained to not really seek out commercial processed foods and chemical-filled nourishment. I should note that I have done this program twice, once as a 26-year vegetarian and another time after I decided to re-include meat into my life and went crazy eating every hamburger and pepperoni pizza I'd missed all those years. The first time was workplace/health insurance-sponsored and the second time, I forced out the money myself because the program worked so well the first time (until I derailed myself). About the "upsells": There are the following items that you can purchase IF YOU WANT TO. They are very up-front and clear that you do not NEED to buy these if you do not want them: - Peripheral vitamins and skin car products - You don't need them to succeed. They are offered and available and many people like them. - Pre-made meals - If you often do not have the time to cook, these are available, made fresh every week to order. They end up costing less than cooking around the home with whole, fresh ingredients, but I like to eat and the portion size was probably not going to be enough for me. I never ordered on, either time I did the program. Lost 30lbs so far. Never exercised once, yet. - The first month is the "reset" of your body. It help you find baseline with weight loss, body pain, energy levels, sleep, bowel movements, better skin, etc. This is when you learn the program, the what's and the why's of how it works. This is when it's the most different from most people's normal eating habits and that's when you need the coach. After that, the coaching is done and the training wheels are taken off when they're sure you have the concepts understood and under control. You can pay monthly (appx $30-40/mo) for continued once-a day text coaching if you'd like, which includes access to the app, or you can just progress from there. My one complaint here is that the app, once you become so accustomed to it and reliant upon it as your guide, recipe book, etc. should not cost extra to continue having access to. If they really do want to see people succeed the entire way through the program and have already received more money than early any app available, you should be able to keep that (even without the chat feature), forever. Without it, it would be all on you to monitor your daily intake, weight progress, etc. in a spreadsheet and that would be so inconvenient that I'm sure that many people would fall off the good path they're on. If you do this program, and really do it, meaning: read the short articles, follow the guidelines, drink the water, etc. you are guaranteed to feel better and -as a side effect - it's almost impossible to not lose weight. read more

Plan is good and I feel healthier but app is too cumbersome to use so I find myself following the plan but not taking the time to record everything. Then the coach gets worried and I get stressed. They could benefit from some serious application development. I'd recommend the plan to everyone if that happened. read more

I am on day 1 of Betr Health and I already feel great! This process so far has been AMAZING!

Approx 1/2 the app works. The coach I have is a joke. The comments are poorly written, full of grammatical errors and completely useless. Seriously, it feels like a 12 year old is on the other end. The bigger problem, I'm not losing and being told to eat... just eat when you're hungry and don't eat when you're not. The scale doesn't sync, there are very, very few options to chose from when posting my meals, while the recipes include 4x the ingredients. It's just a real mess and my insurance is paying for it. I suppose it you happen to be a person who eats fast food regularly, the first month would show a loss. Not so much for those who already eat decent foods. I think Betr Health has some great ideas about approaching health and weight loss, but their App is really, really bad. The coaching team is friendly, but stops sessions before questions get answered saying "Sorry, out of time!" Even the Intro Call presenter had the App on her phone lock up and tried to explain it away. Their onboarding process is to have an intro call to an intro call because the App is so bad. It's not intuitive so even the things that work can be tough to find when you are new to the program. Then to have 175 folks on the intro to the intro call with a buggy app, half the call time was spent on app and usability problems. They seem to be poorly staffed, inflexible, or both. There was only one time slot given for the onboarding to onboarding call. Then only one time slot for the week is given for the onboarding call. If that doesn't work, wait a week. It's a "take it or leave it approach". I'm really overweight and am trying to work on my health and weight. I was excited to join because I like how the program is structured, but at least to begin with it's a disaster. read more

I used fat-free milk, Stevia, and bought myself a frothing wand to froth the milk and it has changed my game I don't think I'll go back to drinking coffee creamer again. I transition to level 2 I decided to try a little bit of coffee creamer to see how I would feel and sure enough I felt horrible. This company provides limited help (coaching)for the first month on the program. After month one, you are on your own unless you pay extra for coaching . I'm just thankful my insurance paid for my program but it was a waste of money. I hope those who sign up outside of an insurance program get better service. read more

This absolutely changed my life! This program not only helps you to lose weight but does so by giving us the tools to make healthy choices. Best decision I ever made was joining Betr & learning how to eat better & under the watch of Dr Ferro & my excellent coach, Layla R, I have lost more than 45 pounds, but I have rid myself of needing a machine to fix my sleep apnea because I no longer have sleep apnea and my blood pressure has normalized after many years of having high blood pressure. Cannot thank them enough for what they do and I highly recommend this eating style which is not a diet but a way of understanding how and why we eat what we eat. read more

The program was offered through my health insurance so I joined to try to resolve my digestive distress mainly and if weight loss happened too, great. As soon as I signed up I was inundated with welcome emails and texts, which were annoying to me. A coach was assigned and a meeting was set up for a few weeks later. In the meantime, I had to take photos of my food and send it to the coach. In the first 30 days, they only offer food that are generally non-inflammatory for most people. I don't eat seafood and most vegetables so my list of food was cut in 1/2 immediately. I ate the same thing a lot. Oranges/apples prior to lunch, you skip breakfast in this phase, salad and protein for lunch and dinner. It's essentially low carb however, you don't get ranch dressing and other fat. Olive oil and Braggs apple cider dressing are going to be your go-to. The focus is really inflammation and the foods the cause it/heal it. It was kind of hard since I'm a terrible eater but I did it for the first 25 days. I did have 3 cookies every day at lunch and kept drinking diet soda. I wasn't perfect. You take a pic of every meal and it is shared with the coach. They give you a scale and you weigh every day. That info goes to the coach. They expect your weight to go down consistently and if not, they make recommendations on food. For instance, I relied heavily on red meat which is "heavier" than chicken so she suggested I switch it up for dinner. I still wasn't losing as fast as desired so she wanted to schedule a "stall call" with another coach. I never did it. After the first 30 days, you get a list of foods that you can slowly begin adding back to your diet 1 day at a time. You have to watch for reactions to the food. Well, at this point is where I went off the rails. I added multiple foods day 31 because I had been so limited in the first 30 days. It just spiraled from there and I stopped the program. While I only lost about 7lbs that first month, my A1C went down 4 points in that short time. My digestive issues were gone. I felt good and I continued to feel good even off the program. But, nearly 2 yrs later, I'm not feeling good and I am going back to this eating plan on my own. Even if i don't lose the weight i desire, I know that it is healing on the inside. I do recommend the program. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is the app is glitchy, the food can be expensive (both their delivery food and the food you buy yourself), the constant texts/communication can be overwhelming, they offer a community on FB but I found that annoying. I like the 1/1 coaching but not the community stuff. That is just personal preference. Others may love it/need it. They offer recipes and I tried a few, they were good but labor intensive with "special" Bragg's aminos. Again, not cheap. But, being sick/unhealthy is not cheap either so, pick your poison. Awesome program.. Easy to follow and makes sense to get your system back to a start position. Yes ..you don't eat or drink many of your comfort foods during this program.. But as you reset your body and see weight loss you'll gain knowledge of why this is necessary My A1c levels were climbing.. Weight was climbing.. Body hurting..I had to get control! I think that the program only works if you eat meat. If you're vegan, its next to impossible. I felt super light headed and dizzy for an entire week, and maybe list a pound. I wish it was more sustainable, but truly if you already eat pretty clean it feels way too restrictive. I've just started my journey. Last week I practiced logging my meal chart meals, water intake and food intake. So far so good. Started out wanting to lose about 10 pounds the healthy way so looked into Betr Health. Thought that like most diet programs I'd have to stave myself and have restricted eating plan. Not the case at all as the program has led me to eat healthier and still eat food that I enjoy. Down 16 pounds in just 3 weeks!! Motivated to keep going as I feel that I can learn more about healthier eat, how important Gut health is overall, and lose weight without doing anything out of the ordinary. Where to begin.... I was introduce to Betr Health many years ago long before it was named Betr. During that time I lost a great amount of weight and managed to keep it off. After an accident in 2017 I gained a great deal of weight. Majority of my weight gain was because I injured my neck and my thyroid gland was also affected. A few months after my accident of the I was diagnosed with Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome. My life came crashing down because PCOS caused me to face infertility. After being seen by numerous doctors they all came to the same conclusion that my PCOS was brought on by hormonal imbalances due to weight gain. I was convinced to start a "shake" program, but it did NOTHING. I knew it was time to get onto the Betr Health program once again. Not only have I lost weight but my recent ultra sound and blood test showed that I no longer have PCOS and my thyroid levels are within normal range. So, Do I recommend this program... ABSOLUTELY!!! I am a strong advocate of the Betr lifestyle. It is NOT a diet, it is a program that educates you on how to give your body what it deserves and how to feel BETTER! Update!!! April 10, 2019 November and December of 2018 I did fertility treatments to help assist with getting pregnant. Both cycles failed and I was devastated. At the end of December I sent and email to my doctor stating that I was going to hold off on the next round until June 2019. I told her that I was going to take the time to getting myself healthy emotionally, mentally and physically. The last week of December I started my Betr lifestyle. I felt great. I signed up for this via my job. I've lost weight before, but I needed a "reboot", and thought I'd go for it. Surprisingly, the Level 1 food isn't bad, and I found that I felt better with it. I didn't lose any weight, but I liked the way I felt. The coaching could be better though. The one I had seemed nice and eager to help, but it was almost as if she never read anything I said. For example, I'm a vegetarian, so I followed the vegetarian plan. I had a challenge where I would be going out to eat with my step kids, and she recommended a grilled chicken sandwich. Huh? Since when did vegetarians eat chicken? Then, I would faithfully send pics of my meals and meal plans, only to have her come back saying I was eating too many proteins (2-3) in one meal. So, I cut back as she requested. Then she said I wasn't using enough variety. When I asked her to coach me on this due to confusion, she asked me to add in cottage cheese... a food she had just told me the week before I was eating too much of. The final straw for me was when I had a challenge where I was invited to a friend's for dinner, and before I got a chance to advise them what I was doing, they already told me what they were making. I reached out to the coach on the morning of, and I never got a response. So I deleted the app. There's already a ton of conflicting and confusing info out there, and this program added to it for me. read more

I was introduced to Betr Health by my insurance company at just the right time in my life. I had been having health issues that doctors couldn't seem to diagnose and I had finally decided that the problem was probably gut related. Soon after, I received an e-mail from my insurance company offering me the opportunity to join Betr Health. I researched it and found that their main aim is gut health! I immediately joined and finally found relief from my problems. As an added bonus, the weight started falling off! I had heard various plans saying that their program would make the "weight fall off" but had never actually experienced that result with any of them. This time, it happened. My gut pain went away, my IBS symptoms disappeared and I lost 11 pounds in the first month without even trying. The intro session was a waste of time with no valuable information, and the first one-on-one coaching session was me left sitting alone at my computer with noone from Betr Health at the other end. Joined this program 3 months ago. My actual start weight was 210 lbs. I jumped ahead and started the first week before I had my initial phone call because I was so excited. I have tried all the diet fads and gained much more than I lost, so after reviewing the menus, the shopping lists and the recipes, I knew this was the farthest thing from a diet, this was good eating habits and a lifestyle change and best of all, Betr Healrh did all the hard work for you. All's I had to do was menu plan, prep, cook and eat. Win win all around. My coach, Amazing! The group support, fantabulous! The call from Dr. Ferro, packed with information. I am so happy with my success. I have not only lost weight, my hair is thicker, fuller and shiny, my skin is softer. I went to get my now long nails done and the nail tech said I had beautiful nail beds. I've lost more than 4' all around and I feel wonderful. My energy is high and I sleep so much better.
