    My pup.
    Danielle T.

Beth is amazing! My feisty chihuahua bit her on her first day and instead of jumping back or saying "nope! She's too agressive," she immediately worked my pup through her fearful aggression until she was settled enough to start her session (please mention if your pup may bite. Totally slipped my mind. Sorry Beth!). Beth talks you through what she is seeing in how you handle your dog and what to change and how. She explains why your dog is doing something, be it a good behavior or a bad one and quickly gets you on the right path. Beth had my dog ignoring scooters in a park by session 3! My dog hates anything with wheels! Let's be honest. She hates most things in her vacinity. Beth works at your pace and I never once felt rushed. Just like she said, she gives you the tools and knowledge needed to be a trainer yourself. Really, Beth is training YOU! I'm glad I chose Beth and her assistants Pickles and Stanford! Thank you Beth for your time and patience with me and my stubborn baby girl and for helping us with our confidence! I'd give 11 stars if I could!

Beth is just awesome!!! She helped me with the situation I was going on I adopted Wawa (corgi) 3 months ago being him 3 years old already with an obvious super bad behavioral issue. Wawa was extremely aggressive towards us my family members other dogs he was just an aggressive dog towards anything he cross in front of him, plus he had a horrible resource guarding with his food he was furious and aggressive when he was eating his meals nobody could be around him he would literally attack you! Adding all of this issues my that dog had, She save my dog Wawa I was about to surrender on him I didn't know what to do but until we meth Beth and she basically transform my extremely aggressive corgi to a totally different domestic dog in only 2 training sessions and one weekend that she took the brave decision on keeping him to address his aggressive behavior, when I pick up Wawa he was a transform dog, Wawa is a happy, smart, focused and obedient dog in my home with me and my wife now days we are so happy, Beth change our life's style with our dog when things were out of control. Beth's fix his horrible resource guarding food within 2 days he was aggressive towards his food she even said I never seen this before, I leave him a weekend and when I came back to pick him up all of that was gone!!!! Beth will not take the time to explain you about what she does with any type of dog it cross her way but also will take the time to explain everything that's is going on with your dog when I say this I'm talking about every detail and she will address it and together can fix it!!! She's awesome I have no words to thank her she will go above and beyond to train you to teach to train your own dog with the necessary tools

I cannot recommend Beth enough!! Our girl Milly was a bit reactive towards people and dogs on leash. We've been to other trainers but they weren't able to help us with her biggest issue, which was reactivity. We had our consultation and within the hour and a half or so she spent with Beth there was a massive improvement. We couldn't believe our eyes! Beth really took the time to explain her training methods and process. You can really tell how much she enjoys training/educating people and how passionate she is about dogs! We had one training session and by the end of the session Milly was walking past barking dogs, focusing on us and really responding. Beth was very supportive and encouraging through out the session. She talked us through every step of the way and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Beth is AMAZING, she's literally a life saver. She exceeded our expectations and our family is sooo happy with the results!

Oreo crushing it on a walk with a LOT of people around him
    Briana G.

When I got my puppy, Oreo, he was just three months old. He was a rescue and was just the sweetest thing and the smartest dog I've ever met. But whatever his story was before he came to me really started to come out around the six / seven-month mark. We couldn't go on walks without him barking at every single person we saw. He was terrified of all the other dogs. And probably the scariest behavior he exhibited was when he tried to aggressively bite our vet while they were trying to restrain him to take a sample. I was overwhelmed at the idea of taking care of him by myself - I couldn't ask other people to help out with him because I was really worried Oreo would be aggressive with them and maybe even hurt someone. After my consultation session with Beth, I was already blown away. She had him walking nicely on a leash within the first half hour (super important to me - I have a bad back), and I was able to start taking him on walks without him barking at every person we walked past by the time we left her house. Beth and I had a total of 6 sessions together, including a whole day where she day-boarded Oreo and worked with him on getting him to think before reacting. Long story short - he went full-on attack mode on a Dremel while trying to do his nails. Fast forward to today and I was able to do his nails on my own without him exhibiting any aggression. Oreo is a completely transformed dog today. He is an angel on walks, he ignores dogs barking in their yards when we walk past, he warms up to people more quickly, and he listens when he's told not to do something or to drop it. At eight months old, he has free reign around the house now (no more baby gates) and I really don't have to worry about him. He hasn't put his teeth on me in over a month and my vet can't believe how much better he was doing during our last visit. He even let us restrain him to look at a cut on his paw. We just started practicing off-leash walking in the neighborhood on our walk this morning. The greatest victory in my opinion is my nieces who are 9 & 10 visited last week and within the first day were proclaiming Oreo was the "nicest, sweetest, best boy in the world." Even my stepmom who has been attacked by a dog and is terrified of them met Oreo and thought he was so sweet and well-behaved. Beth was patient with me and Oreo, she was responsive to my needs and listened to my concerns, and she went above and beyond to make sure our goals were met. I was skeptical of some of the things we did up front (like using a prong collar) but I trusted the process and Beth - and I am so happy I did. I highly recommend working with her - your dog will thank you for it!

    bloody wounds from teeth marks.

stumbled upon beth's response to my wife archana g's review given on jan 22, 2021. totally shocked at what beth has written in her reply!!!! blatant lies!!! Even if a million (actually 40 and a few) people gave a 5* review in an illustrious 20 years, our experience and trauma, which is genuine, should matter. Beth, just 1 question: did you not bring in untrained Malinois dogs to train our dog, made them bark aggressively at our dog? Knowing that you have not trained them yet to call off or let go, if they were to attack somebody? Is it the right practice? Beth says: There are 3 sides to everything: your side, their side, and the truth. HOPE THIS REVIEW AND THE SCREENSHOTS AND PICTURES I HAVE ATTACHED HELP ALL OF US UNDERSTAND THE TRUTH!!! I CAN ONLY HOPE! I SEE THERE ARE SOME BOUGHT REVIEWS HERE, WHO BEFORE ADDING THEIR REVIEW, FIRST COMMENTED ON HOW MY WIFE'S REVIEW SEEMS FAKE TO THEM. TO THOSE, I HOPE YOU AND YOUR DOG NEVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT WE AND OUR DOG WENT THROUGH. HOPE MY REVIEW AND SCREENSHOTS ATTACHED HELP YOU! she has the audacity to call this "review-turned-rant"!!!! and "this event was blown up out of proportion in this review" beth you forgot that you wrote on venmo to me as well. please check below screenshots! You should've removed those posts from your venmo account to my venmo account. maybe they are fake messages will be the next story you come up with. Beth's audacity to say "poorly written... if what they claim happened in this review, this would have been a review most would have written that night or the next day." When we write the review, doesn't change what happened. Poorly written!!! Are we in an essay writing competition or sharing our experience on Yelp? beth, we were taking care of a 35 lbs dog attacked by 2 70+ lbs untrained belgian malinois (you admitted this on venmo, please check). BETH, YOU brought THESE DOGS NAMED LURCH and STANFORD to train our dog MARBLE .... the 2 dogs were not trained themselves. see your venmo message to us in the screenshots i have attached. OUR DOG COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED THAT DAY BY THOSE 2 UNTRAINED DOGS! WHO YOU DID NOT TRAIN TO CALL OFF, BUT WERE USING TO TRAIN OUR DOG! she has the audacity to say this " i dropped by, unannounced, a scene completely disproving their claim about their trauma and their dog's mental trauma. i left their house, crying." WE DID NOT LET BETH INTO OUR HOUSE, HANDED THE LEASH TO HER OUTSIDE AND ASKED HER TO LEAVE. marble developed early incontinence due to this incident at the age of 6 yrs. she was on proin before and now is on proin + des. Our vet is Dr Anderson of Calaveras Vet. Please call them to verify. Or if you want I can provide the tests, diagnosis and prescriptions she is on. beth's audacity to say my wife's review is misleading: "not active yelp users are sorted by yelp's automated system, and are put in the misleading place called "not recommended" reviews." have the guts and the courage to admit your fault and stop calling our reviews misleading! CHECK IF I AM AN ACTIVE YELP USER..... I AM CERTAINLY AN ACTIVE VENMO USER, THANKS TO YOUR RECKLESS TRAINING PRACTICES. CHECK THE SCREENSHOTS I HAVE ATTACHED. her audacity to say " i called frequently to check up on her, and make sure everyone was ok and tried to be as supportive as possible." blatant lies!!!! pls ask beth to share her phone records. please check the screenshots from venmo of how beth was following up, only after we gave the review. Was mocking me for writing the review. trying to push money she lost, to me on Venmo, which i returned immediately. she should be publicly apologizing for being a reckless trainer, instead she wrote this reply calling my wife's review misleading and a rant. beth's audacity to say: but behind the scenes, i immediately took care of everything and made sure they were taken care of in every way possible, by refunding them their training costs, offering free sessions, and paying for the very small vet bill. We don't need your money to take care of our dog.. your concerns and apologies were fake, is evident in your reply to my wife's review. please check the screenshots of payments we are continuously making for vet, chiropractic, acupuncture, training, medicine bills. please feel free to reach out to jessica sandholm, dr. wong, dr. lina mccain, Calaveras Veterinary Milpitas. they are real people! we had forgiven and forgotten, dealing with all of these problems our dog had to and is still going through..... we are still so shaken that we brought the attack upon Marble by inviting Beth and her untrained dogs. would have let go of this..... but saw this audacious, self-proclaiming reply with shit load of lies!!!! to verify the truth, please contact me.... beth, don't bother apologizing, check the screenshots of your fake apologies. you should say it only if you mean it! we let you go and you maligned us for writing a genuine review of your poor, reckless training practices.

Beth is our go-to trainer for our 10 month old malinois. She has high standards and extensive experience building the foundation of obedience in puppies/dogs of all ages. Our puppy is well behaved and now learning intermediate to advanced training within 7 sessions. As many comments below attest, in the first consultation she'll usually show you what your dog needs work on. On top of that she'll tell you what mistakes YOU, as the owner, need to work on to get the results you want from your dog. Her methods are usually fairly simple and straightforward - but most importantly - they're highly effective. She can probably train any kind of pet in the Bay Area, but beware she has a serious background in training high level police and protection dogs. She accepts no nonsense; if you want your pet companion to be treated with kid gloves, she probably ain't the one for you. Nonetheless, if you want a highly obedient and respectful dog.. Or if your puppy/dog is having behavioral issues, I highly recommend Beth! She gets results.

Apollo and I (trust me he is way stronger than he looks)

I do not even know how to start this review. All I could say is that Beth is amazing at what she does! I have an Alaskan Malamute (Apollo) who is just over a year old and if you know a little about Siberian/Alaskan breeds, you could tell that my family and I were desperate for some training for our young pup! He was horrible at walks to the point where I (division I swimmer who lifts/swims everyday) was not able to control him at all! He was just dragging me around and pretty much taking ME for a walk and he was howling/whining all the time non stop!!. Fortunately I happened to hear about Beth's K9 Training and dear god I thank whoever told us about her because not only she was able to control Apollo in walks, she even told us and explain us everything from why does he whine or why does Apollo do things my family and I can't understand, the amount of knowledge & experience she has are incredible and I'm so glad I gave her an opportunity to work with Apollo. Nowadays my family and I are able to walk Apollo without any problems nor incidents, I look back and can't think about what I would have done without the proper training Beth gave us. Before deciding to go with Beth we checked the reviews and we saw the ONLY 1 star review she has and I could not help to ask about it and after hearing her side of the story I completely disregarded the 1 star review and chose her to be our trainer and I could have not been more happier with the results! (just remember there is always 2 sides of the story and clients will always try to take advantages of businesses like hers) :) Beth showed us the packages she offers and at first we were skeptical about the prices but after doing a practice session with her we were sure that she was the one we wanted and needed to the point we were completely agree with any price she gave us (trust me we don't like overpaying for things but she showed us the price is equal to the satisfaction you will get after completing your training with her and seeing your pup behave like you could have not imagine) My family and I are primarily Spanish speakers and we were nervous about the language barrier but that did not happen at all, she was super patient with us and explained things so clear that I did not even needed to translate in multiple occasions to my family!! So if you are hesitating because of the language barrier, don't be! She is super understanding and will help you get to your goal! She has so much knowledge, experience, kindness and passion over this cute creatures that I felt I wasn't giving enough to my pup! The way Beth communicates with canines is unbelievable, for a minute I truly thought she was speaking dog language by how well Apollo was understanding things! I could keep ranting about how exceptional Beth is but I would just be wasting your time. If you are truly interested in your dog's bond with you and want your pup to be the best of him/her. BETH IS THE ONE! THANK YOU BETH FOR EVERYTHING :)

Wowww!!! 10/10 Five-Stars very good work ethic saw instant results. She is very passionate in her craft, knows a lot of information very worth it. I have a very destructive dog and not only did she give me tips she was hands on even let me record a video. Fountain of information, really cares about people. I was a bit worried because of the one star review she told me the every detail and I completely will disregard it. You guys I HIGHLY RECCOMEND. Worth it!

I have decades of experience fostering dogs and personally adopting many of my own, and over the years I've worked with a wide range of trainers. Without question, Steve is in a league entirely of his own. His talent, intuition, and depth of understanding when it comes to dogs is extraordinary. He doesn't just train dogs; he teaches humans how to truly understand them. What made the experience even more unforgettable was the joy he brought into the day. We laughed constantly. At one point my cheeks genuinely hurt from hours of smiling and laughter. And yet, amid all of that warmth and humor, we walked away with an incredibly clear, grounded, and practical understanding of his methods and a deep sense of confidence in our ability to apply them. Steve's approach is refreshingly doable: just five minutes of training per day, paired with his ongoing availability as a resource. That combination alone feels invaluable. We literally just completed our training day today, so I plan to update this review in a few months with more detail about long-term ease of execution and results with our dog, Griffin. But one thing I feel compelled to share now is this: throughout the entire day, even while Griffin was dramatically protesting (vocally, and with flair), Steve remained calm, steady, and completely unfazed. Griffin didn't love everything he was being asked to do, but he clearly adored Steve. He never cowered, never shut down, never showed fear. That level of trust speaks volumes. At one point, I asked Steve about scheduling an additional training day for one of our other dogs. His response was thoughtful, sensible, and deeply ethical: he told me it wouldn't be necessary. He explained that the principles I was learning with Griffin would absolutely apply to our other dogs as well, and that he'd be more than happy to answer questions along the way. That moment really matters to me because it so clearly reflects that Steve is driven by genuine passion and care for people and dogs, not by squeezing every possible dollar out of his clients. I also want to wholeheartedly acknowledge Tasha, who was incredibly kind, responsive, and compassionate throughout the scheduling process. We had to cancel our original training day due to a traumatic injury our other dog, Enzo, sustained: a spinal stroke. Tasha immediately offered to refund our deposit without hesitation. When I shared that I still very much wanted to work with Steve, she later went out of her way to find us an earlier date than originally offered after I asked to be notified of any cancellations. That level of care and humanity meant so much during a really difficult time. I am profoundly grateful for Steve and his entire team. This was one of the most positive, affirming, and empowering experiences I've ever had as a dog guardian. If you're looking for the best, congratulations. The problem is that the packaging requirement was printed in faded fine print, and the aquarium packaging did not seem possible to open without cutting through and destroying it. I understand that stores have return policies, and I try to be very patient with customer service staff. However, this situation felt unreasonable because the requirement was not clearly communicated and the packaging itself made compliance impractical. What bothered me most was the manager's dismissive response when I tried to explain the situation. When I asked whether there was someone I could speak with about the details, she simply said, "I'm the only manager in the store," and as I stood there visibly surprised by how abruptly the conversation had gone, she then asked me to hold my receipt, without acknowledging my concern or offering any explanation beyond the packaging issue. I left feeling that the policy was applied in a rigid way and that my concern was not treated respectfully. I would caution other customers to inspect return requirements very carefully before opening aquarium products, because the packaging may be impossible to preserve. I used to visit this PetSmart, but now am very unlikely to return. That manager could have volunteer a number of different words that would have made the exchange much more respectful and empathetic - instead, it made me incredulous that someone with that attitude was the choice for a manager. ( I do have to say that whoever helped me with my aquarium selection a couple weeks prior in the fish department was EXTREMELY kind and helpful ) - I think that manager has something to learn from that employee. Perhaps they should swap jobs.

Your pets are in for a treat, literally and figuratively, with a visit to Pet Food Express!…read more With aisles filled with pet food, treats, toys and other supplies, you'll find all that you'll need here to keep your little furry friends fed, happy, and learning. The variety of food options from different suppliers and manufacturers give you plenty of choices to consider. If you're experimenting with different diets and meal combinations, this is a great place to build up your inventory in small batches at home. You'll find wet and dry varieties for both canines and felines but you'll also find feed for smaller critters as well. Their collection of treats and snacks is also immense. You'll find at least 4 aisles dedicated to chews for canines including horns, hoofs, antlers, bones, and hides. Biscuits, dried fish and produce blends, and jerky are also very common here with multiple brand options available. For biscuit and cookies, you'll also be able to purchase them by weight if you're looking for smaller amounts. They may vary in ingredients and design but they all seem very intact and organized. In addition to the edibles, your pets will grovel at all the toys and supplies to help them learn, play, walk, and be comfortable. From leashes, harnesses and boots for walks to beds, grass pads, and toys for home bodies, you'll be able to shop and buy all of them in person. Prices don't seem too much off from online prices but the benefit here is that you'll be able to bring it home with you right away while supporting a local business. You'll also find a self washing station here where many guardians take their furry pals to get cleaned up. The basins are quite large to accommodate larger animals and despite being self service, it seems to be kept pretty clean. The staff were also great during our visit. They gave warm greetings and were on task, keeping the place clean, organized and stocked. Management has done a great job building a good working culture here! Overall, Pet Food Express is for sure where you'll find your pet necessities quickly, but due to the variety of items, by no means would you want to leave quickly. The available supplies and extent of options give you plenty to look through. If you're looking for something specific, the staff are available to help and fortunately prices are reasonable, so you and your pets will stroll out happy!

When they walked in, they noticed the place was very clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Before paying, my husband asked if they could try the wash first since we weren't sure whether to purchase a single wash or take advantage of the "Buy 3, Get 1 Free" special. The process was very easy--shampoo and aprons were provided, and they had 25 minutes to wash our pup. This was more than enough time to thoroughly clean our 100lb husky and use the air-dry hose. The only reason we opted for just one wash instead of the bundle was the drying system. While the air-dry hose is a nice feature, it wasn't strong enough for our husky's thick coat. We'll be looking for a place with heated dryers, but if those don't work out, we'd be happy to return here. Thank you for the great service and for cleaning up after our very hairy pup!

From day one, Roy made us feel completely at ease. He sent daily photos and videos of Dior having the time of his life with his furry friends, which was huge for us since Dior never really got to socialize like that before. Seeing him so happy, relaxed, and genuinely enjoying himself made all the difference. Roy clearly loves what he does and treats the dogs like his own. We couldn't have asked for a better first boarding experience and will 100% be booking again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place where their dog will be truly cared for.

Roy at PawPaw is truly amazing and the only person I trust. I came home to a beautiful, clean and better dog than when I left!! It's like she remembers her early training again-- she sits on command, is quiet on command (now HOW did you do that??!!) and is just perfect!! Holy cow!! Roy sends pictures and videos every day so you know that she is safe and happy. I loved seeing her "tucked in" at night with the other pups. I don't trust anyone else with my dog other than family and Roy. Thank you for taking such great care of my dog. I appreciate it more than you know.

It is not often that I leave 1-star reviews... but when it comes to my dog/puppy, I think leaving…read morethis honest feedback is important, as pets are part of one's family. This review is based on my experience back in Fall 2021. My puppy was 3-4 months at the time... we went to maybe 5 of the training classes and by that point, were so frustrated across the board that we never came back. Reasons for my 1-star review: -HUGE class sizes with 1 trainer. Supposed to be a class for puppies less than 1 year old but that was definitely not the case for many of the dogs. Not only was the trainer not able to give anyone individual attention, but my puppy was unable to handle this level of distractions at this age. The class is one-size-fits-all, no matter how young/old your pet is, maturity, size, behavior. We couldn't even get our dog to focus on us, definitely not able to train any behaviors. Clearly some older dogs were doing much better than ours but they shouldn't have even been in the same class. -Really dirty parking lot where the weekday trainings took place, which was even more concerning because my puppy was not fully vaccinated at this point. They didn't seem to be worried about it, but we were on high alert as this was also the parking lot of a PET STORE. Which meant a lot of feces everywhere and always a risk of disease or virus for puppies. -Training style was very harsh and not positive reinforcement. Did not let us use our harness and forced us to jerk our puppy's collar to get her to listen. That might work for some dogs, but ours was so crazed by all the dogs that she wouldn't even realize she was choking herself. Finally when we showed this to the trainer multiple times, he agreed maybe another tactic would be better for her. -Even worse than training style, EXTREMELY rude and aggressive owner (we're pretty sure it was the owner). It's one thing to coach us, it's another thing to force yourself and your style on us. Due to all the issues above, we started taking our puppy to the training and just standing on the outside - not actually participating in the training but just trying to practice on her focusing on us with all the distractions. For some reason, the owner didn't accept this and cornered us with his dog and tried to force his training tactics on her, which we were actively avoiding and it felt like he was trying to intimidate us. All to say, we didn't return after this. To be fair, I don't blame the trainer - I think he was doing the best with what he was given, but the program needs a serious revamp and the owner needs an attitude adjustment.

When first time the trainers dog caught my puppy's ear tight enough for him to get hurt and my puppy cried in pain . They said nothing to their dog nor never put them on leash. After three weeks the trainers dog bit my puppy again this time it was bad enough to hurt with a big pierce in his ear and lot of bleeding. My puppy cried loud and was scared a-lot to come out his father's hands for a very long time. NOW MY QUESTION :- when they cannot train their own dog how can they correct and teach other dogs ?? My advice to all new puppy owners please be aware and dont go here for your puppy training!
