I just came by to PetSmart and it's been a while since my last visit. They still do pet hotels and cat adoptions, which is good for those who want to own a cat or leave their pets there if you're on a vacation and that you have no one you know who can take care of them. Also went by the hamsters and areas where they have small pets. Some seemed to be adopted already since I can't find any of them. This store is good for pet services and other essentials for your pets. I can't think of any other pet store in Fremont, but this is the one I know so far. read more

We usually have a decent experience but today when my husband went to get my dogs food it was what the heck. Most of the time when you go to a store and they put the food on the wrong side of the price tag they honor it well today that didn't happen even my husband walked them to show that the price was different then what was scanned and the bags of food were in the same part where they price difference was. "Ehhhh we can't honor it" what!? Come on don't be like that when you guys can't double check where you put the food at and price tags at. I had a disappointing experience trying to return an aquarium at this PetSmart. Before using the tank, I was told to check it, but when I decided to return it, the return was refused because I had not retained the original packaging. The problem is that the packaging requirement was printed in faded fine print, and the aquarium packaging did not seem possible to open without cutting through and destroying it. I understand that stores have return policies, and I try to be very patient with customer service staff. However, this situation felt unreasonable because the requirement was not clearly communicated and the packaging itself made compliance impractical. What bothered me most was the manager's dismissive response when I tried to explain the situation. When I asked whether there was someone I could speak with about the details, she simply said, "I'm the only manager in the store," and as I stood there visibly surprised by how abruptly the conversation had gone, she then asked me to hold my receipt, without acknowledging my concern or offering any explanation beyond the packaging issue. I left feeling that the policy was applied in a rigid way and that my concern was not treated respectfully. I would caution other customers to inspect return requirements very carefully before opening aquarium products, because the packaging may be impossible to preserve. I used to visit this PetSmart, but now am very unlikely to return. That manager could have volunteer a number of different words that would have made the exchange much more respectful and empathetic - instead, it made me incredulous that someone with that attitude was the choice for a manager. ( I do have to say that whoever helped me with my aquarium selection a couple weeks prior in the fish department was EXTREMELY kind and helpful ) - I think that manager has something to learn from that employee. In the past, I alway had a good experience with the main floor employees. Today I had a very unusual experience from a cashier. I was walking in and this young man with face tattoos said something about how he is patient and seemed to be talking about me as I first walked into the store. As in he thought I was difficult or something so he needed patience to deal with a customer like me. This was triggered because I just walked into the store. I also have experienced some chatting about me in Spanish in the grooming salon. Other than that, I think that the store has a great environment. read more

They told me from 7-9 OK no problem, I had plans so I put them off till 9 o'clock. I figured, 9 o'clock comes bed not here, try to call the people to let them know don't deliver it cause somebody will take it. We've been having problems with that in the building. twice I called the driver somehow they didn't understand what I was saying cause I was barely having trouble understanding. Took my dog to get a bath + haircut in January with Greisy. When my boyfriend picked him up, the lady at the front desk was telling him he needed to brush our dog every day, in a really condescending, almost scolding way. Which is crazy, because they failed to mention that both of his ears were badly cut and still bleeding. We didn't realize until he got home. It took over 3 months to fully heal, and now he doesn't like his ears being touched and doesn't even like going into pet stores anymore. read more

So very Happy with the Pet Hotel here. Nino our kitten stayed here for 5 nights. Everybody that works there is great. Nino was a happy 5mo old kitten when we picked him up. They took great care of him. They gave him loves. They keep perfect records of everything you pet is doing there. We will keep uses PetSmart Pet Hotel when we are traveling ! People buying cat food or anything in bulk should use Amazon instead of holding up the line. Scan each small can? Really? They rarely open more than one register either. Going to this location is not a destination. I live in Fremont but I'd rather go to the McCarthy Ranch location in Milpitas. Never a long line and the staff is more accomodating. The WORST online shopping experience EVER! I want to leave no star at all. They just shipped something in stock instead. I received the package which is partly nothing to do of what I've ordered online. If you are out of stock in some items, just cancel the order or let the customers know/ or contact the customers. I was at the store last weekend. The cashier kept me waiting in line for at least 15 mins or possibly even longer. The lady customer ahead of me had lots of dog clothes and they were talking discussing the merchandises. I mean, she should have asked her co-worker to help out at the other cashier check-out. She said she was the only one but clearly there was another staff restocking returned or new items. I ended up leaving the cat foods at the counter and just left the store. There was another customer behind me. Also, when I went inside the store, there was an overwhelming bad smell throughout the store. I've been to other pet stores like Petco or PetClub which are both clean and no bad smell. The only reason I was there was my cat needs the food that night and it was next to Trader Joe's where I did my grocery shopping. Please do not go here. I don't like giving negative feedback but this store truly deserves one. They have to clean up their store and improve customer service. BOTH FAIL!!! read more

If you love your dogs, do NOT take them here to get groomed. I booked 2 separate appointments with 2 different groomers at 11:30am for my two dogs. At the 3 hour mark, I called them assuming they forgot to call me and my dogs were done. They told me they needed another hour. The groomers gave me soooo much attitude saying that my call is delaying them from cutting my dogs. As if 3 hours wasnt enough time let alone 4 hours! I came in to take my dogs because i didnt have time anymore. Cherry on top, they did a terrible job and made my dogs bleed. I talked with the manager and he was also incredibly rude and not helpful. Its not my personality to complain about goods or services, cant even recall the last time I complained about anything, but people have to know what they're getting into here. They act like I was getting my laptop repaired or something... no, these are living breathing animals my family and I love that have been locked in small cages without food, water, or to pee for 4 HOURS! When I got home, my dogs chugged water, peed their brains out, and scarfed down their food. I felt terrible for them. Im going to dispute the charge with my credit card company. This was a terrible experience. and clearly Im not the only one seeing as this place has a 2 star review. They simply do not care about you and especially do not care about your pets. I am a happy customer at this PetSmart grooming service. I brought my newly adopted cat here for a pretty up. I called over 6 PetSmart stores for cat grooming. Fremont store has what I needed. I couldn't schedule it online. So, I called the day after Christmas. Employee who answered the phone was courteous. On the day of schedule, everyone acted professionally. Not sure what other reviewers we're complaining about. I got emails throughout the process from the beginning to the end. I had choice to pay for the service. I thought I could pay at the cashier. But as soon as I walked to the line... Oh oh. The line wrapped around the aisles. Okay. I paid online in a flash. It seems only few cat groomers in the San Jose Bay Area. I just wish the online scheduling system worked. I would recommend all cat owners to get the fur babies a pretty up like mine. read more

Vanessa has recommended me and assisted me in getting everything I need for Niea and making sure I know how to use it. She recommended the PetSmart Hotel for my reboot vacation ordered by my dr and it was overwhelming to leave her. Vanessa assured me she would be fine and went to say hello while she was there. PetSmart sent me a beautiful picture which reassured me that she was fine. Another beautiful staff this young lady asked did I get Niea from the settler, I asked how did she know?she also worked at Tri/City Shelter. In all my visits I've met a lot of the staff and learned they're not just employees they truly care about our pets because they are also pet lovers have several pets of their own and or working to becoming veterinarians. I usually go to a different chain pet store in San Jose but was in the area and I wanted to get a couple of fish. When I walked in it was busy. Especially the fish department. I walked around looking at the selection and they had other fish I hadn't seen at my usual store. When it was my turn a young guy helped me, I could tell he owned fish as he understood what I was looking for and we even shared pics of our fish and tanks. I ended up getting two fancy guppies and a couple of ghost shrimp. This place has a big selection of fish if you're looking to add to your tank or are new to the hobby. Everyone was really nice, I recommend this store based on my fish purchase. read more

If you love your dog DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG with them! Horrible service and possibly neglect.... My grandson Bentley (Frenchie) has probably used their service 3-4x. 1st 2x we didn't have issue because he was a puppy. When he got bigger ( now 2yrs old) we have been having issues. First incident- dropped him off for a few days with his bag packed for the stay with his food/wet food. Picked him up and he still had a few bags left, like they skipped his meals or something. Spoke with the manager and she said the system never updated his feeding. My question to her was, " why are they asking me then when I'm scheduling the appointment about how much to feed?" She apologized and offered 3 days free. We used them again ( for a 7 day stay) and all was good except that he broke a nail. Ok, Bentley may have tried to scratch the gate and it got caught ( understandable). 2nd incident- dropped him for Labor Day weekend. I received a call on Sat 9/2 that he broke a nail. The young man said that he was trying to claw the divider to get to the next room. If he was clawing normally it would be the front paws. I had my brother go check on him to see if he was ok, but to find out it was his back paw.... Now I'm like, how did that happen because dogs do not claw with back feet. Now, I'm feeling the caretaker is lying about the incident. I get another phone call on Monday (Labor Day) stating that Bentley ran out of wet food and if it was ok to give theirs. I told the lady that he had enough, so I'm not sure why he ran out. Anyways, I told them it's fine to give chicken /rice ( their food). When I got home after my brother picked him up from there I cleaned out his weekend bag and ALL his prepped food/treats were still in the bag!!!! I was pissed, and tried to call, but unfortunately they were closed at 7pm. I'm wondering what did they feed him or did they even give him any food? This is NOT acceptable and I hope management sees my review because the staff there is doing a shitty job caring for our babies. He came home acting different like he had been abused and starving. If you plan on using PetSmart be SMART! Make sure you have them review his meal plan with you before you drop them and remember who calls you if something happens. I have to rate 1 star, but they company deserves NO stars and an inspection from better business bureau and whomever else that deals with animal cruelty/neglect. read more

Please note that this review is about the shopping experience only. We have never used the pet hotel or the grooming services here. This is my safe bet for any pet smart products! Each year I buy my XL Labrador a new sweater. Last year I was looking for a good rain coat, and I look all throughout the bay and didn't find it, except for here. And after seeing so many stores this was the only store that had the dog sweaters well organized and doesn't jack up the prices a ridiculous amount because of his size. This year the same thing happened but for a winter coat, I went to the Milpitas location first got horrible customer service, and had to search for half an hour their unorganized pile of sweaters to not even find his size. I arrived here and within 5 minutes I found a sweater, the right size, and checked out. As an owner of a large breed I think the pricing for their sweaters are fair. I would have expected to pay 70$ on the Arcadia trail sweater with Sherpa on it. Instead I got it for 35$. Thank you for making my day! read more

Deidra did a full haircut and bath on our foster dog Bennie and he came out so happy! He also got a little teeth brushing add-on. Some background: one of his legs was shaved down before we got him about a month ago when he got it checked out for limping. Deidra matched up what he had grown on the leg to the rest of the body so the hair can grow in evenly and he won't be too hot this summer. He's still good and fuzzy, no worries on sunburn, but now it's nice and neat. Of course he has to be a troublemaker and moved the ENTIRE time she was trying to help him. She did such a great job and he smells so amazing I can't stop cuddling him. And for now, he doesn't have his signature stanky breath. I'm so grateful. read more

My groomer was Xiomara N and the appointment was less than 2 weeks ago on 8/28. It was overall a very poor experience and the fur length was the only thing I was satisfied with. It started from the check-in. It was difficult hearing and understanding her. The rest of the staff looked dispassionate and uninterested. Overall very bad and weird vibes in the salon. The same can be said when I went back to pick up. The staffs seemed unhappy. The grooming itself was done poorly; the worst out of all the times I've been there. I noticed cuts on my dog's ear. The face was uneven. The coat felt dry (didn't use conditioner??) even though I upgraded to FURminator for the first time. After I went home to check more in-depth, there were knots (didn't brush??). A week passed, I am now noticing the unevenness especially at the legs and even drier coat. It is shocking as these have never occured before. I am not sure what went wrong but needless to say it will be difficult for me to go back. I've had generally average and forgivable experiences at PetSmart's grooming salons for the past few years. Wanted to update my last review since this check in was so much better it deserves to be noted! I took one of my daughters rescue pups for a nail trim. The whole experience was excellent. Check in was great! Helpful polite staff! I watched through the window and Stephanie was kind to the anxious dog and I really liked her technique which was very comforting to the dog! Ziggy (The anxious pup) pranced out like a beauty queen! It was adorable and I'm sure it was because they were so sweet to her! read more

NEVER USING THIS PLACE AGAIN! My dog Lindsay was scheduled to have a grooming appointment today at 2:30pm. I took her to the Pets Hotel for their Pamper and Play that they have where dog can go play and also go to grooming for pampering. I check her in at 9am and specifically tell the gentleman at the front desk that she has a 2:30p grooming appointment. He acknowledges so I assume we are good to go! Wait around until 4:30pm no notification but not usual because they say 2-3 hours for grooming. 5pm...nothing. 5:20...still nothing. So I drive down and go straight to day care. The lady at the front desk calls for Lindsay to check out. I ask "is she back from grooming?" The woman goes to check. Come to find out they never picked her up from day camp! This is the 2nd time this has happened!!! WTH! First time I will chalk up to a mistake. They happen. But again??? Absolutely unacceptable. I do not know where the breakdown in communication happened nor do I care. But the process absolutely needs to fixed because this is a complete failure on all levels. Needless to say they have lost my business and also lost my dog from utilizing their services ever again. read more
