Pier overhangs the water & you can see fish & turtles from there. Trees offer great shade & there's a bench to sit & enjoy the view

What a great local park! From a Clubhouse, covered pavilion, fishing pier, hike and bike trails, picnic tables, playgrounds, ponds, birds, ducks & turtles, this place is spectacular! Brought my almost 2yr old on a weekday afternoon to stretch his legs and get some sunshine. We had so much fun! He played on both playgrounds, we watched geese walk around, saw a man fish, watched turtles swim and saw ducks everywhere! There were people waking the large sidewalk surrounding the lake, people fishing, bird watching and jogging pushing strollers too. Lots of trees for shade and a cool breeze, if there is one. Well kept and clean. There were enough people around I felt safe as well. I'm pretty sure I saw public restrooms, but I'm not positive, and I don't know the hours of operation either. We'll definitely be back! ----- Developed in 1991, Bethany Lakes Park is a 40-acre community park with passive recreation amenities.

One thing I really like is that the gym overlooks the pool, so if I ever wanted to work out while keeping an eye on the kids, I easily could. The gym itself is on the smaller side, but don't let that fool you. It has everything I've needed, the equipment is in great shape, and I've never had an issue finding an open machine. I've gone at different times of the day, and even when it's a little busier, I still don't have to wait long for equipment. I actually prefer this over the bigger gyms. It's a more relaxed environment, and I never feel intimidated or like I'm being judged. It's also kept really clean, there's always someone around if you have a question, and I appreciate the little things like the cubbies for your belongings and the scale to track your progress. They also offer a variety of fitness classes, and while I haven't taken one yet, I already have the schedule hanging on my refrigerator because I definitely plan to. Whether you're looking for a place to work out, take the kids swimming, or do both at the same time, this is a great spot. I'm really glad I found it.

He even trained me during my pregnancy (I worked out the day before I went into labor, ya'll!), which helped me recover more quickly from all the horrors of being pregnant and giving birth. There is nothing I have stuck with for 10 years, except my workout routine with JC. The environment at Retrain Fitness is fantastic. You show up, he makes you do things you think you can't do...but next thing you know, you did it, and you feel fantastic. Everyone there is family. You find yourself laughing or smiling in the middle of your workout, despite the fact you've just been told to do 8 burpees. I can't recommend Retrain Fitness enough. Come join us!!

With JC it's different; you walk in and usually be there for 45 minutes to 1 hour and feel amazing. He starts you slowly but will continue to challenge you as you get stronger and more fit. After a little over a year I lost about 15 lbs, lost more inches, gained a lot of muscle, and continue to work on ways to enhance my health, which JC always helps me with. Don't let the new equipment and shiny infrastructure fool you--the experience inside is a total disaster. * Rude Staff: From the moment you walk in, you're treated like an inconvenience. The front desk staff are consistently dismissive and act as if answering a simple question is a personal insult. * Dishonest & Collusive Management The leadership here is fundamentally unprofessional across all levels. It's not just one "bad apple"--there is a deep-seated culture of collusion where managers consistently cover for each other's mistakes. Instead of taking accountability, they resort to gaslighting and rewriting facts to dodge responsibility. It is impossible to have a transparent conversation or resolve a genuine concern when the entire management team prioritizes fabricated excuses** over basic integrity. They would rather protect their own images than fix a problem for a customer. * Zero Customer Service: There is a fundamental lack of basic service here. If you have an issue, don't expect a resolution; expect an argument. It's a shame to see such a high-end facility wasted by a team that clearly doesn't want to be there. Save your money and your sanity--go somewhere where they actually value their members.

However, after experiencing the new expanse that is Stephen G Terrell Rec center, I am inclined to move my membership here soon. A few of the reasons: Huge open spacious vibe that has a psychologically positive impact. Much larger and more modern 3 lane running/walking tract that threads thru a large part of the facility. Extensive resistance weight areas including,2 free weight areas and one machine area...all state of the art. Treadmill, elliptical, rowing, and stepping machines, in copious amounts. Outside terrace exercise area with sleds, ropes, bags etc In addition a 2 story play area for children, meeting rooms, classrooms etc. This is a archetectually well designed and implemented modern community " rec center". Oh,did I mention the 7 basketball courts?...... Go!

I am an athlete and offer you should not go if you are not physically capable. Injured? Don't go. Also, if you are a group or have children, let others pass you as you will slow them down. Staff are not on the course. Do not expect them to come help you. Be self sufficient. Set reasonable expectations for yourself. And don't worry about what other people think. Hydrate. This is physical exercise. And have fun! This is fun! Be free with yourself and your companions. Laugh! Connect with nature. Enjoy challenging yourself. Try something new. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Staff are inconsistent and so is the upkeep. For example on today's visit one of the ropes was broken but I was allowed to use the obstacle anyway. That seemed very unsafe to me. The locks are malfunctioning etc. But overall we enjoy coming out and will continue to do so.
