What a great place! they roast their own beans, they have different brew methods, cold brew, Chemex and Kalita Pour overs, French press. Aero press. They take their coffee seriously, but they are not pretentious or stuck up about it. they clearly love coffee and want to share their love of coffee with others. They do not have flavored syrups or frappachinos. They do have a nice variety of Teas. Pastry selection is small, they say they will be getting a better pastry selection in the future. The actual place has a cool feel, very open, very hip, very welcoming. they are still new and still have to work out some kinks, but if it stays as good as it is now, it will be the best coffee spot in the Grand Valley. definitely worth checking it out. read more

I had an incredible experience here! From the moment I walked in, the service was superb, friendly, welcoming, and impressively fast. The highlight for me was easily the sausage breakfast burrito. You can immediately tell they use high-quality, locally made sausage. It's a world apart from that bland, greasy grocery store stuff you find at most places. Every bite was absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. I paired it with their coffee, which was excellent, and enjoyed it all in their cute outdoor seating area. It's the kind of drink that makes you want to sit back and just enjoy a quiet morning. Truth be told, the quiet morning part is where things get a little complicated. The atmosphere leans pretty far to the left, which is completely fine. People are free to do their thing. But sometimes that overly expressive vibe spills over into my personal bubble when I just want to enjoy a cup of joe. On my most recent visit, I got stuck sitting near a couple, and the woman was literally reading aloud from a therapy book. She was lecturing her male companion on the exact appropriate way he needs to talk to her in their relationship. I'm all for healthy communication. Listening to a live couples counseling session at nine in the morning is not exactly pleasant, though. It's a funky place, and they definitely cater to a specific crowd, which fits their eclectic, community-driven aesthetic perfectly. If you're into that kind of high-energy sharing, you'll probably rate this place five stars without blinking. I'll definitely keep coming back because that breve latte is just too good to pass up. I just might start bringing a good pair of headphones. Sometimes a guy just wants to drink his coffee in peace.

After a few minutes I got back in line (even though there were now three people ahead of me). The temptation of their pourover was too great and I had a little time. The barista, remembering me from earlier, asked what else I would like. I told her I wanted to try a pourover and asked for her recommendation. After confirming that I liked light roasts, she said I might like the Costa Rica Santa Maria. I drank my cortado in much more haste than usual to get to my pourover (they use a Hario V60 type, for you pourover people). On my first sip of the pourover, I noticed the light acidity, but it was somehow different, in a good way. I couldn't really explain how it was different, since I'm not a real coffee nerd. The coffee was good, more delicate but not in a weak way. It was a new and interesting experience for me. I'm glad I went back to wait in line again. Try the pourover if you can spare the extra time.

There are much better ways to communicate a policy to a customer who just walked in and clearly wasn't aware of it. Instead, we were basically dismissed before we could even say anything. So we left and took our business elsewhere. Grand Junction has already been a weird stop for us, and after this experience, we'll definitely be skipping this place in the future.
