They offer pump bottles of body wash, shampoo conditioner lotion if you want to lean over the tub to access. The front desk just doesn't answer at all to inquire about a blow dryer. I've never seen that in an my years. The front desk lady was way overworked and understaffed with a busy season of guests. We stayed here for a wedding and the experience was honestly terrible from start to finish. We requested to have everyone in our group on the same floor, but because several rooms still weren't cleaned, some of us were placed on the lower level below the main floor. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but based on what we saw, renovations won't fix the real issues. Our room looked like a quick patch job. The walls had mismatched white paint, the shower didn't drain properly, and the shower curtain had an unpleasant smell. The iron in the room was broken and leaking water. Several wall outlets looked worn out and honestly like a fire hazard, so I was hesitant to plug in my phone. The windows opened fully, which isn't typical for hotels, so that was surprising. There were no luggage trolleys available, and the elevator was not working, which made moving bags in and out a hassle. The worst part was waking up at 8 a.m. to loud construction happening directly above us. No warning, no courtesy notice, just walking around and banging early in the morning. On the positive side, the room did have a microwave and a fridge, and the water pressure was strong, but the shower still didn't drain. Overall, this stay was disappointing, uncomfortable, and not worth the price. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Our room was near the building door, which was heavy, so our wall shook every time someone went in and out. After returning from an event later that night a room nearby was having a party. I can't help it report that this is not your average was actually a bit yucky and of course they had the signs up. That's like excuse our dust, but the problem was not related to dust except for maybe some nose dust that The Proprietor's are sniffing. my first complaint is that the electric vehicle charging is ridiculously expensive for level two. Unless you are on 10% or less battery at the time of arrival, it probably would not make sense financially to charge here. They charge $20 to charge overnight and that is simply outrageous. Drive down to the El Dorado County sheriffs office and you can charge for free on their clipper chargers. That's just about a mile south of this hotel. No, the next thing is ice: there's an ice machine on floor one, but it doesn't work and it's not labeled as such which immediately in still panic in me when I realized that my hotel room libations may have to be consumed room temperature. Horror! Next up: Jacuzzi: the Jets are incredibly weak such that I didn't even think they were on when I went over to the little knob that you have to power up to get anything at all. This hotel has taken a beating. It was pretty clean but, there is a lot of exposed wires, tarps everywhere. Unfortunately, we had a VERY VERY BAD NIGHT SLEEP. Make sure you request a room AWAY from the highway (UGH) We rated this a 3 because the staff is SO NICE. The grounds are well kept. There are signs everywhere that say "Please excuse the dust". It wasn't dusty. Lol - The hotel smelled nice and the rooms were clean enough. One of the queen sheets were either stained or not changed from the last guest. YUCK. We just stayed here during the three-day weekend in October. I read the reviews on this Inn before knowing anything, so my expectations were based on them. Note, hubby booked the stay. We arrived, and the location is peaceful and has ample parking. Any establishment will have Pros and Cons. Here are my Pros: Pros: The Room we got was 131 (non smoking), very spacious and clean. The room had a decent-sized mini fridge and a coffee maker by the sink. The closet was a decent size with a small safe. This was my first time seeing hardwood floors in a hotel room. I don't mind, the floor was clean, no dust. The bathroom was clean and very spacious --no hair or stains in the toilet or bathtub. Towels were fresh and had no stains. There were some minor nicks on the wall, but not a deal breaker. The water pressure was okay, not the best. The temperature of the water was consistent and easy to adjust. The beds were very comfortable, with four pillows on each bed. Some pillows were firm and some were soft--basic TV with ample channels from sports to the usual channels. The room had a desk and a swivel office chair. The view from the room faced Missouri Flat Road. We did not hear the traffic while we were sleeping. This Inn offered a complimentary breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages, pork sausage patties, varieties of bread, plain bagels, packaged pastries, juice, coffee, tea, and Oatmeal. It's not a 5-star breakfast, but it was not bad. The Cons: No elevators, only stairs, which was a pain when you have luggage, kids, and a cooler to lug from the car to the room, whether it's on the lower or upper floor. I could hear the people upstairs walking or moving stuff in the room. Since we stayed in the lower floor, we had to close the curtains when we left the room. Anyone walking to the back of the building could look into the room. The hallways seem like something from a Stephen King movie or novel. You will need to walk outside to get to the breakfast room. They locked the access to the hotel room, which is a pain. We did not see any ice machine anywhere near our room or the location of the rooms. Overall, I would stay at this Inn again on our next visit. Keep in mind that if you are looking for a 4 or more-star hotel in the area. Good luck, or you can book a room at Red Hawk Casino. Considering the price and location, just minutes from Apple Hill Farms, it's worth it. The Inn is family and pet friendly. read more

Appeared that someone had gotten sick as the sink and hand rails near the toilet was gross. One of the three cards worked so had to get them reprogrammed. Room was clean, but was dark and dingy. It took some work to get the shower warm. The odd thing is that you need to exit the hallway to get to the lobby despite having a door off the hallway. Not good. There wasn't many options in this area as far as hotels. The staff was friendly but the hotel could use some updating, which I think they are currently working on. Heads up, there are no elevators. The place was old and hallways smelled bad, but the room itself was clean and had no smell. The bed was comfy, brought my own pillows and blankets. Not sure I'd stay here again in the future but it has potential, so I wish them well with their upgrades. read more

There aren't many options for lodging in this specific area, but Best Westerns are generally a safe option. It's a decent hotel, the room was dated but it was very clean. All of the staff work hard to upkeep the property, the pool/patio area was safe and kept clean, and it's in a beautiful area that was close to our event venue. This hotel does NOT have an elevator so keep that in mind when traveling with guests who have limited mobility, you'll need to go up two flights of stairs if nothing is available on ground level. Our key card stopped working but the desk staff quickly fixed it for us. The breakfast room is clean with generic options but is small with limited seating. Overall, it's a decent stay that is in-between the motel options or the pricey casino resort. I'm my opinion we paid more than what our stay was worth but the property has a lot of potential if it's given some love/updates. read more

Very standard Best Western in Placerville. We stayed a night during 4th of July weekend to get away from all the annoying illegal fireworks back in the bay area and a quick night stay before we hit Lake Tahoe. What made us choose this hotel is that it's dog friendly (they didn't charge an insane pet fee that other hotels did), it's affordable, and we love how semi isolated this place is from big cities. Therefore we didn't hear any fireworks on a Saturday night before 4th of July, thankfully! Parking was a breeze and super easy to find off the freeway. There were also car chargers too for EV, we will bring our EV car next time then! We checked in and got placed in a dog friendly room, which is at the very bottom floor. We didn't care much about the noises from upstairs. The walls were thin but it didn't bother us at all. The room was very big! Lots of space for our little Chihuahua mutt to run around in. The place was OK, definitely a little outdated especially the bathroom but it was kept relatively clean. We love the king sized bed! Free breakfast was standard continental breakfast. The selection was good from sausages to waffles. We love how close it is to Target, Safeway, and Dutch Bros coffee! Lots of food places nearby too. Dutch bros was walking distance so we walked there the next morning for our coffee. There was also a pool on the hotel that we didn't get to utilize, and also a small gym. Old equipment but it did the job. Nobody was using it. It was hot when we went, like over 100F, but fortunately the AC worked well in our room and the gym. We really enjoyed our stay, most importantly our dog had lots of fun. He finally didn't get anxiety attacks with fireworks and was able to sleep peacefully. We'll definitely consider this spot the next time we go to Tahoe or places nearby! read more

The breakfast area is too small for the size of the hotel. A larger unused building on the property would better serve as a location for breakfast. We stayed Thursday-Sunday . It was a pretty good stay overall . We had a double bed - sheets were crisp and clean . The bathroom had essentials . Only 2 towels so ask for more ahead of time . It is the only hotel around the area with a full breakfast hours 6-9 am . Eggs, waffles , cereal , coffee and so many other choices . The pool and jacuzzi was open for use . It brings the necessary - it isn't fancy but we enjoyed our stay . Check out is at 11:00 we had someone knocking at 11:02 to check if we were leaving as we were waiting for the one rolling rack in the whole hotel - aside from that, the microwave and fridge came in handy with our 2 children . I talked to a few staff members beforehand and they were both very friendly, helpful and went the extra mile (Sabrina, Mario). They are doing construction using gas powered concrete cutting saws and filled the entire building with gas fumes and dust. When the alarms went off staff downplayed the situation even after the fire department arrived. Requested to speak to the manager but was told they were not available. I booked this, like other reviewers have, because it was listed on a bride and groom's wedding site. I was a little worried when I saw the reviews, but it was overall much better than I expected. Per others' reviews, I knew that the highway side of the hotel would be noisy. I did the online pre-check in and asked to be given a room on the quiet side if possible, and they put me far away from the freeway. It was very quiet. Unlike other people's experience, my room was very clean and there was an armchair in addition to the desk chair. The one issue that matched some reviews was that the shower had very low water pressure and did not get really hot. The room they gave me, had me walk in on a woman already occupying the room. Just glad she was watching tv and not coming out the shower. They gave me another room without apologizing which was funny, then the outlets are loose as ever and don't hold anything in the wall. Bathroom shower had huge cracks in it and the fridge didn't work. I have video and pictures or all of it and I am baffled how terrible this place was. Although we booked through a "third party" we were told 2x by desk staff that we would get BW points because of no housekeeping, a room screw-up and front desk interruptions. We did not get the points. The room screwup: We were told at check-in that we would have a first floor room, away from the freeway. But when we discovered someone was there, we got a second floor room adjacent to the freeway. There was front desk confusion about the length of our stay - 3 calls to the room from the front desk because we were marked down for one night when we had paid for two nights as discussed at check-in. Terrible stay this is a run down best western and should be removed from the best western family. Check in was very slow only one person at the desk and it was a busy time since the surrounding areas were without power and people who were evacuated from other towns came here so it was crowded so they should have had more than 1 person at the desk. The person in front of us was having an issue and took quite a bit to finish and have him move along We had already preregistration and all my info was on file. But it still took more than a few minutes to check in. Once we arrived to our room we were more frustrated- the room 340 door had been pried open before and the holes in the door by each henge had a big gap so you could see into the room if you were to peek in the gaps and the light from the hallways came in through the gaps. I was supposed to be in a quiet area of the hotel but I heard someone's dog barking in the hallway all night. It seemed that anyone could come in the hallway doors which were supposed to be locked were left unlocked and opened so I never felt safe. The hotel did have homeless people in the area and camped out in the benches in the parking area. If I was a family or a couple of ladies out for a getaway I would not say to stay here The hallways are inside to get to each room and they stunk you can tell they spray some type of spray in the air or carpets but it stinks the rugs are dirty and the walls are dirty and full of dust Our room was musty and my sinus were bothering me all night me and my his husband couldn't sleep we tossed and turned all night did not feel safe or comfortable here The ceiling in our bathroom must have had some type of leak before and they tried to patch it up but it was a terrible job the sink counter had some type of glitter stickers on it so it was not cleaned or disinfected before we checked in. This particular Best Western should not be classified as a "Plus". It's an aging facility and in major need of renovation. It's not really a bad place, it's just looks like everything is old and worn out and it's time for a face lift. I was, in fact, told at the front desk that they do have a renovation in progress, but I did not see any work being done there during my visit. The hotel has three stories and is situated on a hill, so the lobby where you enter is on the second floor and you might have to go down one flight to get to the first floor if that is where you're room is. I would never stay there again! When I first checked in the person at the front desk was not friendly at all. The employee did not explain any of the rules . Such as the pool hours or breakfast hours! The room had a stench. It was masked by cleaning solutions but by the time we arrived back late at night the order was awful. We were too tired to ask to be moved. We were put in the back a long side the freeway that we heard all night long. The following morning we found a window cracked open. We feel it was used to hide the smell. I will be calling the manager to file complain! read more

If you are looking for a luxury hotel like The Four Seasons you might be disappointed with a stay here. Otherwise this hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Placerville where it seems lodging accomodations can be hard to find. I did not have any of the negative experiences described in other reviews. I believe the hotel has been renovated though I'm not sure how recently it took place. I checked in on a Friday about 5:00pm. There was a large group of construction workers/tree loggers also checking in, but it did not cause me to have to wait. The front desk staff was welcoming, friendly, and informative. I felt safe checking in alone. The room was large and very clean. No bed bugs - and I checked - just a nice clean mattress and bedding. The chair was upholstered in a green velour - no stains. The carpet was also stain free. Double sinks with one outside the bathroom so you can do your hair/makeup while someone else showers or uses the restroom. I like this feature which seems to be disappearing from hotels. Great water pressure in the shower with a nice big shower head that is tall enough so I don't have to duck to wash my hair. Amenities include: citrus shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion. They smell great and work well. Iron/ironing board, in room safe, hair dryer, in room coffee maker, luggage rack, refrigerator, microwave, and cable TV. The room was also well lit, had a unit for charging items with a USB port, and an alarm clock. Vending machines for drinks (Pepsi products) and snacks that are reasonably priced and take debit/credit cards. Security door requiring a hotel key for entry. Free hot breakfast daily (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links and patties, waffles, toast, bagels, packaged muffins/pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, fruit juice (orange, apple, cranberry), milk, and cold cereal or flavored oatmeal). It might not be gourmet, but it is free and takes care of your morning hunger. The staff is also friendly and keeps the area clean and well stocked. Water is also available in the lobby at all times. My room was on the 3rd floor and fairly quiet. You can hear the noise from the freeway so if you are a light sleeper ask for a room toward the parking lot of the hotel. There is a Mexican restaurant next door that has great reviews, but was closed during my visit. The pool and hot tub looked nice, but I did not get a chance to use them. Loading and unloading luggage from the car in the parking lot can be tricky unless you park in the lobby porte cochere, unload/load, then park in a parking space. There is plenty of parking also. There is also no elevator between floors. The second floor appears to be at ground level so request that floor if you need to avoid stairs. Pets are also allowed in designated rooms. Check out was efficient and quick. I have no complaints and would stay here again in a heartbeat! read more

Lady at front was friendly. We picked a room with a fireplace for a reason, cost more too. Fireplace did not work. I called, maintenance was supposed to come by to take a look. They never did. Bedside table lights are hooked up behind the bed. Every time you want to sit down and read or just gave more light the light turns off. Both side lamps. So clearly the connection to the wall was not being made. It proved too much to pull the bed away from the wall to get to it. Thankfully the front desk had ear plugs fir me to sleep from all the road noise and screaming toddler put right next to us. First off when you walked towards the entrance to the hotel rooms there was an overwhelming smell of urine. Unacceptable. Then they had no way to get to the rooms except stairs. My partner is disabled and couldn't make it to the room we were assigned. I went to the office to tell them we couldn't stay in these conditions. They cancelled the reservation which AAA made. They still charged my insurance an exorbitant amount for 1 nights stay of $366.29. Should not have had to pay anything since the room was totally unusable as assigned . read more

This 5 STAR is for the staff. What amazing crew that worked the weekend we stayed there (July 27th-28th). I saw such happy and positive interactions not just among other staff, but with the guests as well. It was such a comfort walking into a smiling check in desk. Then to get a curtesy call to make sure the room was to our liking- nice touch!! Check out was just as pleasant with the morning staff. I even had to call and tell them I had left something behind. While still on the phone, I heard to gal immediately ask another staff member to check my room. That was very comforting. I am used to hearing, "we will go look for that and let you know". I was talked to with graciousness and even by my name. Upon picking up my items, the person checking out had told them their toilet had over flowed/backed up and again, immediately it was relayed to other staff to get right on it. Booked a king with sofa bed and fireplace but the room we were given had no sofa. Clerk explained that rooms were being remodeled and stuff was being moved around. She offered us a rollaway for $20 even though it was the hotel's fault for not providing the sofa bed! We declined and took a double queen instead (no fireplace). The clerk said she'd waive the price difference but I knew from booking that the rooms were the same price. The second room wasn't great with lots of small things wrong like only 2 towels (got more), inadequate lighting, shower with temperature control issues, but worst of all was the loud, incessant highway noise. Just walking to the room was depressing with the outdated hallway and large trash bags waiting to be collected. We very nearly packed up and left for a different hotel. If we hadn't been staying only one night, we would have. Breakfast was decent though. read more
