The front desk staff was wonderful. They saved my rear. The lobby is nice and the eating area is nice. The gym is great. If you are just looking for somewhere to sleep, then this is great. The room is showing its age a little bit, so it's not like I would want to be there if I had to be in the room all day but it was great to just sleep before heading to the airport in the morning. Bed was too hard. It needs a topper cover or something. Tv is nice. Ice machines on each floor. Desk was big. Free wifi. Coffee machine and desk lamp. This is my first time staying here. My girlfriend was having her bachelorette party in Eagan and it was a late night so I didn't want to risk driving home even though I only live about 20 minutes away. I shared the two queen beds with another college friend and the room was spacious. It was nice and clean except for the A/C was not working very well since I got hot and cold throughout the night so didn't get a good night's rest. It was nice that they offer a regular dorm room size fridge and microwave. I had some homemade guacamole so it was nice to be able to use the fridge keep it from spoiling. The breakfast in the morning was nice for the weekend starting at 7am and goes till 10am. It's a nice selection of hot and continental food items. I like that they have two different kinds of individual instant oatmeal. The coffee was ok and wish that they could have provided a green tea selection instead of just black tea. The price was reasonable with parking, breakfast included. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. I didn't like that hotel guests were not adhering to the 25 feet rule for smoking near the back door on the first level to parking area near Holiday Inn Express and Suites hotel next door. Overall, I would definitely stay here again because it was close to downtown Eagan and you can walk to most places near by. read more

We're back! After a flight push back, we opted to stay the night here, vs Bloomington. We had 2 reasons: 1. price point was lower. 2. We wanted to avoid the noise. Reason 1. We saved about $35 for tonight, prices were higher than usual at both d/t the holiday. To get that savings, we sacrificed the pool and hot tub, as well as the restaurant. We used that savings to order in and chill in our room. Reason 2. Dakota Ridge is set up as a business hotel, instead of the family fun one. As such, it's generally much more quiet - to the point that, when we stop, my husband says "the quiet hotel or the other one?" - and we usually end up here. The temperature controls are accurate, so we can easily adjust to our liking and remain comfortable. Decent beds- I still hate the small pillows but everyone is doing it, 4-8 small pillows on 1 King bed. I'd prefer King pillows. We did have 1 hiccup, our first ever here, I believe. On calling for the shuttle, we were advised there was nobody here to run it & that we should take a taxi and get a receipt for an adjustment. The cab smelled like urine, but that's not their fault. We found their work around to be quite creative & accommodating... & I'm going to guess not so cost effective for the business. Nonetheless, our needs were met and their amenities fulfilled. Desk staff was apologetic & friendly. She made the necessary adjustments with a smile and of her own free offering. We'll be back in 2 months, if not sooner. Keep up the great work! read more

We just spent four nights here, awaiting some work on our apartment. It was a very efficient and courteous checkin process and I love the Accessibility features of this property from the outside entry landscaping and automated doors to the superb accessible bathroom with a roll-in shower. Because of the pandemic, we didn't request any housekeeping service and, of course, weren't expecting any breakfast buffet. There are numerous restaurants nearby that more then met our needs. The room was clean and of adequate space. Our only gripe was the horrible seating in the room. Neither of the chairs was even close to comfortable. The ottoman was comfortable for seating but had no backing, of course. Overall, we would go there again should the need arise. read more

So we've stayed here before and it was better 2 years ago than it was this weekend. 1. BREAKFAST- Breakfast was minimal and the sausage wasn't even cooked throughly. (You cannot serve PORK that is not fully cooked.) Let's not even talk about the pancakes or the coffee. But breakfast is free right ? So I guess you get what you pay for. Next time I'll opt to pay the breakfast fee at another hotel. Side note: McDonald's and Dunkin' are also nearby within 1-2 minutes from hotel. 2. PROPERTY- The property looks nice from the outside and is decent in the lobby and common areas. There was a blizzard but it's Minnesota right ? So it's expected and the people who actually live here know this. Well don't expect them to help you or clean their own parking lot. Literally gave everyone a shovel if one was available ..like oh well dig yourself out. 3. HOTEL ROOM- The hotel itself is quiet, the rooms are "okay" in size and layout. The beds are a little rough and the sheets were disgusting on one bed. They do have a Keurig in the rooms now I don't recall that being there last time. So that was pleasant to have since the coffee in the breakfast area sucked. 4. GUEST SERVICE AGENTS- Upon checking in on Friday the man was pleasant and listed the amenities and where we could park for quick access to room. During morning shift on Saturday so I'm assuming the 7-3 shift the young lady mainly complained about the weather and her job. Me being a hospitality employee I can tell you this is NOT a good look for your employee to have a I don't care attitude and to complain about her job. Had no interaction with evening shift on Saturday or night auditor on Friday or Saturday. So nothing to say about them. All in all next time I will stay elsewhere. Definitely do not recommend this hotel for anyone staying longer than one night, you need not to be a breakfast eater and last but not least don't come when it's suppose to snow. read more

I'd like to begin by saying that the staff at this hotel was amazing! If I remember correctly her name was Melissa. However the hotel is very dated and unkept. The rooms are dirty and smell old. The room I stayed in had a urine stained sofa bed and what appeared to be body hairs on it. I immediately informed the front desk and they moved me to another hotel owned by the same owner. I do not recommend this hotel, nor would not stay here if I were in the area again. This hotel is a Best Western PLUS. I booked my stay here through Hotwire and everything went smoothly. We were in town for my cousin's wedding in the Twin Cities. Eagan is close to the MSP airport and Mall of America. Then it's about a 10-15 minute drive up to St. Paul and a 15-20 minute drive to Minneapolis. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport and Mall of America. In addition, there is free wifi, with 3 lobby computers and a printer. In the rooms, there is a microwave and mini-fridge. There's continental breakfast served every day. It's pretty decent food too! There are also a washer and dryer downstairs if you are staying here for an extended time. They also offer a small fitness room. It's pretty small with 1 bike, 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, and 1 weight machine (which was broken when we were there). If you forget a toothbrush, razor, toothpaste, etc they have travel sizes at the front desk for you. Parking is free and there is plenty spaces. Just be careful to not leave any valuables in the car because I have heard of cars being broken into. With all these great amenities offered, the best part of it for me was the entire building was smoke-free! I would definitely stay here again. I just don't recommend you using their coffee maker in the room. It had strange white remnant pieces inside of it. read more

BW Dakota Ridge, is a decent place to stay. Checks most of the major boxes, it is reasonably priced, clean, updated and was located where I wanted to stay. Made reservations ahead, coming to the cities to do a Twins game. Busy weekend at the Dakota Ridge-was jammed packed parking lot. So be advised call ahead. Close to 35E, and 494. Minutes to Mall of America, close quick food a few blocks to the east along with a Cub Foods (used to be Rainbow Foods). As you can see from the check in pics, a little maint. is needed. They are pet friendly (took our dog) and have free wi-fi. Good experience, would stay again. read more

I stayed at this hotel for two nights - the rooms are more than clean enough and fairly spacious. I was in a room with two queens. You aren't getting awesome sheets, a fancy room, or anything terribly special. However, if you are staying here you PROBABLY just want a place to sleep. The Best Western can accomplish this - in spades. The staff are nice, there is a FREE (!) shuttle to the airport which is about 10 minutes away. It leaves every thirty minutes on the half hour. Also, there is a continental breakfast which has muffins, juice, yogurt, bagels, and a waffle bar. Along with juice and coffee. It didn't open before I had to leave both mornings I was there - but it seemed like it would be your fine and average continental breakfast. read more

This hotel was only given three stars because of the wonderful customer service provided by Ebony. My reservation was booked in February for my trip in August. I arrived at the suggested 3pm check-in time, given a key only to find my room was already occupied. The replacement room I received was dirty, had a terrible smell, curtains were ripped, there were stains on the sheets I was hoping were red nail polish and mold/mildew on the bathroom ceiling. My first call to the front desk was quickly met with "we're fully booked there aren't any other rooms". Luckily I had relatives near by and slept there instead. When I returned the next morning, Ebony was now at the front desk, apologized profusely and found a clean room for the remaining days of our trip. Won't be returning there again. read more

My family and I stayed here on an overnight trip to Mall of America. The Best Western Dakota Ridge is very easy to get to from the MoA and also has a free shuttle you can take to the MoA. Our one night stay was very pleasant. The rooms were older, but remodeled. They were also very quiet! My room looked over an I35 interchange, and I didn't hear it even once. It's a fairly standard Best Western experience, which is usually pleasant for me. Our rooms were clean and well maintained. The continental breakfast was well stocked and I was maybe a little impressed with the actual dishes instead of paper or Styrofoam. read more

We have stayed here a few times now. It is a clean comfortable building with decent sized rooms and fairly comfortable beds. This last stay we had to make two separate reservations, why I will not get in too. But they at this front desk handled it quite well and all went very smoothly. Although each front desk female reminded me of a drill Sargent they were friendly. Location directly next to the freeway is nice and the noise is not a problem in the room as there is none. It is also close enough to a few eating places that one can walk too. Wifi worked well once I got on and the computer in the lobby is connected to a printer so one can print out their boarding passes for later use. Yes we do like this place overall. read more

I travel around the country for work, and it is VERY rare to have a manager work with you as well as Melissa did. To date, I have never met someone who was as accommodating as she was. We booked a conference room and had all these needs, and she met them without batting an eye. Also, there is a waterfall in the lobby, which is a pleasant break from sitting in a conference room all day. Wonderful breakfast, nice rooms, couldn't ask for more. Furthermore, Melissa was great, but all the staff was A+. I am horrible with names, but shout out to Jordan as well, and all the others. Every time I come to Minneapolis MN, this is where I will be staying. Let me also just mention one of the coworkers used the shuttle service from the hotel to the airport, and he did not have any problems with it. Told them exactly what time he wanted to leave, and that is when he left. Moreover, all those photos showing mold and whatnot must have been old before a remodel or something, because there is no way any of that exists now. When we pulled in, the lot was nice and clean. We made our way into the lobby, which seemed really nice and clean. The girl at the counter was sitting there with her phone and earbuds in. I asked where the bathroom was and then she got up and pointed the way. She was nice enough, but seemed sort of lazy. I went to the restroom and my husband checked us in. He said she acted as if she didn't really want to be there. She also told him that they were pretty short-staffed and all the rooms hadn't been cleaned yet since the weekend started. Okaaaay. Why would you tell that?? When I was in the bathroom, I noticed that it really needed some tidy-ing up. There was toilet paper and paper towels all over the floor and the soap container needed to be filled up. There was soap all over the vanity. I thought to myself that our room better not look like that. We went to the entrance where I room was closest to and there was a garbage can that was completely overflowing. I thought that instead of sitting on her bum at the front desk, that girl could have been tending to these issues. It just made a nice place look bad. I liked our room. Nice space and clean. But the beds are old and not at all comfy for two people in one bed. I think our son slept like a baby (but he's a teenager and would have slept as well on the floor! Haha!) The mattresses are just way to soft and ours had a slant to it on one side. In the bathroom the exhaust fan didn't work, it was very dark to take a shower and the water went ICE COLD on me for about 20 seconds. That woke me up! Also, the drain in the sink smelled like mold and made me gag when I had to brush my teeth or wash my face. I guess we got our money's worth. If the things I mentioned were addressed, I could have easily given it 5 stars. I'm giving it 3 just because of the mattress and I didn't get a lot of sleep. read more

Not at all pleased with this property. Arrived at the Minneapolis Airport at 7:30 PM and called the hotel requesting shuttle service. Was abruptly told that our wait time would be approximately 40 minutes. Ended up taking a Taxi and incurred a $35 fare. Arrived at the hotel only to encounter their stellar employee by the name of Dana, who was obviously having a bad day. To say she had a bad attitude would be putting it mildly. We stayed here the night before our vacation and our flight with spirit airlines ending up canceling on us with no warning. The incredible staff sent a shuttle for us which arrived very promptly and the driver was sympathetic to our situation. We reserved a king room & received two queens. Not a huge problem, but speaks to the details. The room was clean & on the large side. Bathroom was also large. The fridge and microwave were pleasant surprises. Breakfast on Saturday morning was good. More than I've come to expect from hotels. It included scrambled eggs & sausage along with the typical bagels, cereal and yogurt. Sunday we were downstairs when breakfast started at 6:00, but there were no hot options out. It was kind of a bummer because the sausage was good. Now for the bad part. We heard no noise from above, below or side to side. It was great. However, we had an even numbered room that faced the highway. All we heard was highway noise all night long. I hate fans & had to run it to try and mask the constat noise. All in all, we got a good deal & I felt we got our money's worth. I would stay there again, but insist on an odd-numbered room to be away from the highway-facing side. read more

I stayed at this hotel last month with my mom and my grandparents. We were in town to see my aunt who was very ill, and who had unfortunately passed away the day before we checked out. A week later, I was with my grandparents when they received a beautiful sympathy card from the Best Western Dakota Ridge staff. They were incredibly touched that strangers would take the time to write a sweet, hand-written note. So, whoever you are that decided to do that, thank you! It actually did mean a lot. The service at this location was horrible. I arrived at 12:30am wanting to get to the room and go to sleep. Ended up waiting 30 minutes for the shuttle, 6 of us boarded the little van; whereupon the driver announced he needed to go to the other terminal for another client. 6 of us were force to wait 30 additional minutes as the driver looked for this additional client who couldn't find the bus stop. While waiting in the van, I called the front desk, advised them of situation, asking Manager to instruct driver to drop us off and come back for the wayward guest. This hotel had to commit credit card fraud in order to get frivolous incidental damages from me. In fact, they got my Visa account frozen due to excessive unnecessary charges on my Visa credit card account. Then out of desperation used my AmEx credit card, which i used to buy a redbull and kit kat to charge me the frivolous incidental damages. Basically this hotel has never heard of privacy laws and credit card protection. They think they can do whatever they want with peoples credit cards. Lack of unprofessionalism. Also, they charged me frivolous incidental damages due to defects in the construction and materials of the hotel. Avoid at all costs. Staff is rude and prejudice. read more

Great hotel. We checked in later on a Monday and had an early flight on Tuesday. The front desk recommended an early shuttle to get to our gate on time. We had a great warm breakfast before departing and made it to our gate well before our departure time. On return, I called the number to have the shuttle come pick us up to return to our vehicle at the hotel. I called at 12:00 on the dot and was told the shuttle was on it's way there already, should be there in about 5 minutes and he had plenty of room for myself, my wife and my two toddlers. Even better, no wait! At 12:08 I called because I was on the wrong side of the street at MSP and needed to go back underground to get to the other side. I could see the van when I called and was told she would call and have him wait for us. At 12:12 when we got up on the other side he was gone. We literally had just run through the entire airport from gate to the curb, with 2 small children and all our luggage/carseats to catch this shuttle that had left. Frustrated, I called the hotel again to ask what happened and she said word for word "We have destination guests that were too impatient to wait and the driver decided to leave. He should be back in 20-30 minutes." So apparently we did not matter when compared to these other "destination" guests. And the shuttle did eventually come back, 44 minutes later. The hotel is less than 15 minutes away and they have 2 shuttles. You would think they could be back and forth a little faster if they coordinated better. Needless to say, we won't be back and we will recommend others go elsewhere as well. Great hotel, horrible shuttle service. read more

I came to a convention here on June 19 through June 23. When I got there with the host, we checked in and then went to the meeting room to set up to find a big loud machine. We went to ask for it to be moved and that is when we found out that it was the "AC" for the room because their AC broke down...the host was never contacted about the AC being down. We had 48 total people attending the convention from 19 years old to 80+ years old. The heat and humidity was horrible. Granted we had some fans and this noisy AC machine...when the host went to ask about what can be done about talking to everyone, she was handed a microphone...seriously??? Due to the heat in the room we had to cut our classes short because it was affecting several people. A lot of the people who were there have health issues, ranging from cardiac patients, diabetics, and all the way to asthma. One person went to the emergency room over night, several got sick from the heat, and several people went to their room. I am an EMT and I know that heat was not good for anyone. One of the people who work at the hotel over heard me talking to a convention goer and when they heard I was an EMT the staff person said "well it's part of your job isn't it?" I get that is my job but I was at the convention for vacation...not to be working bc no one how's to tell people that the AC is broken. Friday I was brought to the ER by ambulance bc of an asthma attack and less than 24 hours later I was back in the ER for another one. Both doctors told me that it is from the heat and humidity from the convention room, which caused me to miss a day and a half of work. Management did all they could...so we thought, until we found out that they had the new AC since the 20th but we're waiting until the convention was done to put it in...Come one people. Use your heads. Just an FYI what the hotel did by not informing us was WAY wrong and not putting in the new AC when it was relieved and allowing people to be in that in room when it was that hot is against Health code. So I should bring them my medical bill from the 2 asthma attacks and ambulance ride for them to pay and also have them pay for my day and a half off from work because the asthma attacks were caused by the poor cooling system in the convention room. read more

**BED BUGS**My family and I stayed at the Best Western plus Dakota Ridge on Aug. 8, 2012 till Aug. 13, 2012. After arriving home, I noticed my 4 years old son had bites/welts on his skin. The next day, I noticed it on my skin as well. We went to the doctor only to find out we were bitten by bed bugs. I contacted the hotel and was informed that the managers were in a meeting and for me to leave a message. I left a message informing the manager to contact me after 2pm. No one called until the next day at 12pm and left a message. I contacted the hotel after 2pm and was informed that the managers were in a meeting and someone will contact me in 15 minutes. I never received a call. I called the hotel back and was told all the managers had gone home for the day and someone will contact me. I never received a call. I contact the hotel again only to be told that all the managers were out to lunch and to call back in 30 minutes. I called back in 30 minutes and the phone goes straight to voicemail. Finally after continues calls, I spoke to the OWNER Matthew about the bed bug issue. I informed Matthew that I did not want my money back for staying in the hotel but I would like them to pay the pest control bill (if any) because the inspection to determine if I transported bed bug to my home is free. In a nutshell, Matthew gave me the history of bed bugs and pretty much said that it is not HIS Best Westerns fault that we were bitten by bed bugs, but he understands. Mr. Matthew also stated that he cannot control what other visitors bring into the hotel. So, in other words, it was my families fault for choosing to stay in Best Western plus Dakota Ridge. People please research the hotels that you stay in because this is unacceptable and again Matthew the OWNER of Best Western plus Dakota Rigde I wish you the best luck in your business. :) read more
