I understand that people are treated on a case by case basis, and people have their days and moods. That being said, The Country Inn and Suites in Egan is no doubt one of the better ones. In my honest and humble opinion (which may not mean much to anyone important) In my experience it was absolutely a considerate and polite staff on duty. When I first got there, they were having trouble with the locking mechanism, but I feel like they handled that particular problem with a calm and stoic demeanor which allowed most people to remain calm and keep things light despite the situation. The price was phenomenal, considering the Holidays, the local and amenities. I have been in many more hotels than I care to think about in my life of life, but I always have to give it up to Country Inn and Suites. A respectable, considerate and fair home away from home. I stayed for 3 nights and had the following issues: 1) The internet service was horrible. 2) There is a phone in the room and a red light was flashing, meaning that there was a message. As no one knew that I was staying at the hotel, I knew that the message was not for me. At around 2am, the flashing red light woke me up, and I attempted to retrieve the message and could not do so. I called the front desk the next day and they told me that they didn't know how to stop the red light from flashing 3) The walls are paper thin, and I mean really paper thin. If you want to hear your next door neighbor's conversations and other private items, this is the place for you. 4) The bathtub was filthy. read more

Worst experience ever!! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR PARK AND FLY!! They gave the whole shuttle to ONE FAMILY, and would not accommodate anyone else, even though they had another van that sat empty behind the shuttle with a driver sitting in it. They only allow the shuttle to run every HOUR. After finding out that we were now on our own to find a way to the airport, we booked a Lyft for a 5:15 a.m. pick up the next morning. The Lyft driver NEVER showed up, and we tracked his location through the Lyft app and found him sleeping in his vehicle at the gas station next to the hotel. My husband tapped on his window, and it did not faze him one bit, or startle him awake. We then ended up driving our vehicle and had to pay for airport parking. So, we paid for parking twice, and then the Lyft driver sends a message that we were a no show. Sorry fool, we have screen shots of us trying to reach you and call you to no avail. What a bunch of garbage service, all the way around, with nothing but morons working at the Eagan hotel and Lyft service. Spend your money somewhere else, because in the long run, you will end up paying more any way!! read more

Not sure where to begin. Let's start with the service... what service? We checked in 4 people on a 5 day stay, first red flag is only 3 towels provided, I assumed I could call to have more dropped off, I was wrong. On day 3 we left at 7 am and stopped at the front desk to request service cleaning and more towels, as it had not been done thus far. We returned at almost 10pm to find that they had not serviced it or dropped off towels. After calling the front desk again over the same issues, they basically hung up on me and eventually brought up 6 hand towels. *no towels *no room service even at request *no container in the bathroom *rude and un accommodating front desk (they literally hung up on us 3 times when we were trying to figure out the internet issue) *wifi does not work Do yourself a favor and get an Airbnb, don't waste your money. read more

I work for ABF Freight I stay at this Hotel ALL the Time. It's always Clean and Breakfast is Amazing. 5 Star Service!

Not sure if they changed staff but this was a very pleasant stay. Pros: comfortable bed, tv was huge, pull our couch, area to get ready outside of bathroom. Giant pool downstairs. Breakfast has self make waffle station and microwaveable goodies. Coffee was hot and had all the fixens. Front staff and cleaning staff were very friendly and the shuttle service worked so well for us! We called 30 minutes before we needed it. But they come around every 45 minutes or so during the day if you missed it at first. If you have an early flight make sure to let them know the night before when you'll need a ride. Check out time is at 12 which is so lovely not to be rushed out by 10. Oh and we walked into our room at a crisp 68 degrees which was the reason I gave it 4 stars. That was so nice. Cons: We had a room right above the pool so it smelled constantly musty, there were some things that clearly have not been cleaned for weeks. Like the corner of the showers, and below the vanity in the bathroom. The bed was clean, but the bannisters and lamps were dusty which means they need to do a deep clean. Tables were janky at breakfast. I watched two families try to sit at a table that spilled everything before I started warning people. There are small cosmetic things that could have made this a 5 star review. The unfinished ceiling on the blinds was weird. The banister that has never been dusted had chipped paint. Pretty much everything has chipped paint like the door. Which may be from the seeping humidity from the pool. The elevator has floor boards coming up and surprise! chipped paint. All in all I'd stay again because it was safe, pleasant, and the bed was clean and comfortable. The shuttle was decent, and the staff make the stay enjoyable. Thanks! See y'all soon! read more

We choose this CI&S because it's Conveniently located about 15-20 minutes from the airport -- and, as my wife stays at CI&S regularly, she accumulates lots of points and room upgrades. It was a decent room for the night before heading out the next morning. However the hotel shows quite a bit of wear and tear and dinginess in the halls and elevator--definitely not as nice as some other CI&Ss I've stayed at recently. I also dislike the cool white light bulbs in the light fixtures--they make rooms feel institutional instead of comfortable. Despite my picky observations--it worked for us. read more

Our room had a cabinet door hanging off the hinges and there were impressive cobwebs along an entire side of one of the pictures. That being said, the staff were all very personable, the linens were clean, plentiful towels, and check-in and check-out were quick. I'm not sure how the property is hanging onto its 8.something Hotels.com rating. read more

We booked online through their website for a room fitting 6 adults, 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. When we checked in we were told that they had overbooked and did not have the room available. Not only did they not have the room we booked, they stated that they were fully booked so we were unable to get a second room. We had no other choice than to cram 6 adults into a 2 adult, 2 kid sized room-queen and small sofa bed. They did accommodate us with one rollaway bed and gave us a $12 discount. It was not a comfortable night of sleep. In addition to giving our prepaid room away, there was no parking at all. They do have a continental breakfast that was stocked with stale cereal and no milk. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. read more

I wish I could give them no stars, but sadly I can't. I reserved the room on hotels.com for the AmericInn in Inver Grove Heights. We were staying for the state wrestling tournament. I arrived to check in at 9:30 at night, and I was told they transferred my reservation to a sister hotel. The guy at the desk claimed I was left messages by his manager, but I was never notified, otherwise I would've gone to the other hotel first. They had my correct number. He said there was nothing he could do. So I drive 20 minutes to the next hotel County Inn and suites in Eagan. There is a note tapped to the desk that I can read. It says I checked in by phone, which I never did. It also said that I was being transferred to their hotel from the AmericInn. The guy had to call over there, to see what was up. Then told me he couldn't give me a room until my reservation card arrived from the other hotel. The reservation was made 10 days before the event. read more

We had to check out early due to sports accident. We were told we couldn't be refunded our stay, since we booked third party online. in which we were refunded half our money later after throwing a "stink". Our room curtains were a third falling off, the hot tub jets didn't work, breakfast was still being prepared beyond the hour set. we called three times due to a sports accident realizing we had left a pillow and an expensive phone charger. We were told we would call back and never received a call. Pay the extra and stay elsewhere. read more

Stayed the night at this hotel for our family vacation over spring break. Stopped by to let the front desk know we were arriving into town so that our room would not be taken. They gave away our room anyway and some of our group had to sleep on the floor, while the rest had to sleep cramped in the beds. Not a single toiletry was stocked in our bathroom and the tub leaked. The room all in all looked like the beds were made and the housekeeping staff left after that. The front desk clerk looked at me like I was kidding about not having the proper supplies. The pool area was a complete disgusting mess. The walls had chucnks of drywall missing. The bathroom for the pool area looked like someone had "the runs" all over the floor and did not clean it up very well. Not a single towel waa clean and the garbage was over flowing. The hotub jets were broke, there was a dirty bandage on the handicap chair to the hot-tub. There was some mysterious floating things in the pool so We could not enjoy that either. Will never stay here again. read more

Did a park, sleep and ride. Had to park car on off site location and was shuttles back to hotel. When we flew back we just called and they came to pick us up. Luckily, the driver was picking somebody else up so they called and told him to wait for us to get our luggage. The hotel room was large. Had a couch with a hide a bed. I did not know that so had ordered a roll a way bed the roll a way bed was basically just coils in material. The clerk was very informative and helpful. We had to catch a shuttle to the airport at 430 am and it was nice they had muffins, bananas, juice and bars out for those leaving super early eat their breakfast that they set out. read more

Outside looks nice inside it's a dump. Dirty floors carpets hallways and run down. Housekeeping work really hard to keep the place clean and they do a good job but rooms run down like everything else. A C loud smell of cigarette smoke even non-smoking bldg but smoking areas are right out the front doors right and left smoke permeating thru the A C. Female manager unfriendly without customer service skills. Paid $125 a night for a motel 6. We booked two rooms for a one night stay before a wedding. Unfortunately there was a pretty big storm that night that cut the power to the hotel until late the next morning. No ones fault but there was no hot water to take a shower, the kitchen was closed until later, so we went out to breakfast with the hopes of getting a hot shower and a late check out time. I asked for one hour extra and was told that was not going to happen as the maid service needed to turn the room. I asked for just a half hour and was told if we did not vacate the rooms by noon we would be charged another day. I actually agreed to pay the extra day so we could ready for the wedding, but we would still have to vacate by noon. Huh??? There was also dried blood on the carpet next to the bed. I took a photo and showed it to the manager, and she did not care. She was rude, uncaring and continued to talk over me. We were forced to leave the hotel, no food, no hot shower and we changed into our wedding clothes in the car. I have travelled for business for 30 years and have stayed in hundreds of hotels, and I have never been more disappointed than I am with this experience. I was not asking for the room to be comped, which would have been a fair ask. Just an extra 30 minutes so me and my family could change for a wedding after waking up in a dark room with no power or hot water. read more

Curt Carlson would roll over in his grave over this operation. The site has multiple issues, not the least of which is that the owner is running a park and ride operation shuttling people to the airport with the result that there not enough parking spaces for paying customers. The end result is that the desk instructs guests to park in fire lanes and handicapped spaces, as well as the McDonalds next door, where we were broken in to. The ice, pop, and snack machines were not working for most of our stay and the breakfast was short on food and featured stale bread and english muffins. The side doors were unlocked 24/7 because the key card locks did not work. The rooms were decent and quiet, but housekeeping skipped of room 4 out of 6 days, resulting in shortages of towels and supplies. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating to the extent they were able, given the conditions that existed. Bottom line, Radisson Country Inns and Suites are overall a great chain but this privately owned and franchised property does not measure up to what we expect as the Radisson standard. read more

Horrible. We stayed before a trip in their park and ride program. After booking and arriving were told parking is offsite so we have to drive our vehicle there in the middle of the night and repack to accommodate not having our vehicle. Rooms were just ok. Upon coming home had to wait an hour for a shuttle now. Still have a lot of travel ahead of us and not how we wanted to spend it. Avoid and use one of the other hotels. I've seen their shuttles come and go 2-3 times while waiting. read more

The good: -the rooms were clean -pillows were awesome... Not like the flimsy ones you usually get -the ac worked very well, which is another thing that can be a common issue Now as for the not so good.....We showed up around six waited about twenty minutes for anyone to show up at the front desk. Wouldn't be such a big deal but when you're tired from hours of driving it kinda makes you a little crabby. Then we get to our room and find the door to the adjoining rooms is broken so they have to send someone up to check it out. It's not able to be fixed so we have to move rooms, which is ok beings I'd rather be safe. New room kinda had a weird smokey smell to it but we were so tired at this point it wasn't even worth trying. We were in town for an event and paid considerably extra for the Xcel Center package which included a shuttle to and from the event. Now, I do have one positive for this, the shuttle driver was great, he was very friendly and great to chat with. However, one shuttle driver for multiple events makes for long delays and when you're standing on a street corner an hour after your event it gets a little sketchy after midnight. He had a wedding to shuttle for and also the concert we were going to which for just that had two trips worth of people. I think the hotel could have had two or more going that night instead of running him ragged and leaving your guests waiting so long especially with the up charge. He did the best he could and was very cheerful regardless so that helped but I think the hotel should be able to manage shuttles timely and have more than one shuttle going on a night of events! Hotel is within walking distance to a gas station and Mc Donalds. Not far from a liquor store as well to have a beer to make the annoyances a bit better. read more

Slept worse at this hotel than I would if I slept in an airplane bathroom. HORRIBLE. When we first arrived after a long day of flying, we were greeted with a creepy man loitering in the lobby and heard all of our personal, private information that we had to tell the front desk man. When we got to our room, the door lock was starting to fall off and everything looked really old. Once we went to bed, the bad things started to happen. The air conditioning unit was broken, so it made the most annoying ticking noise which wouldn't stop until I turned the whole thing off. The pillows and bed were so used and old that they were uncomfortable and creaky. Every noise outside of our room was heard loudly and clearly. This place was ridiculously horrendous. The one star goes to the amazing Park and Fly feature and the big tv. OTHER THAN THAT, DO NOT STAY HERE. EVER. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE LEVEL LOW HERE DUE TO LACK OF PRESENCE OF CAPABLE GM....Problems arose in check in & young and inexperienced GM was ABSENT...NO LEADERSHIP. (See UPDATE below) So, a life-threatening winter storm prevents you from arriving and you call to rebook the reservation for the following weekend. You know, keep the sale and keep the customer. Seems simple, right? WRONG! Because you prepaid (read: they reap the benefit of having your money already) you get penalized. Cheaper online rate they say. Fine, I'll pay the delta. NOPE! You should have booked by calling us instead of using our website. The galling part is Joe Random could walk up to the desk and complain and they have it in their power to comp the room suddenly. Or you can normally cancel without penalty by not paying at all until you walk in the door. I'm not asking for handouts: you got the damn sale and all I'm asking for is a date change. Why lose a customer forevermore and any potential customers that will be steered away from this and any Choice Hotel property? "Customer Service" appears to be empty rhetoric these days.... UPDATE: This location 'made it right' in this case, and I must note that they were polite throughout. I'll follow up with a review after the actual stay, but I'm leaving this here because this is a pernicious industry policy that is anti-consumer. read more
