Rubin's is either your cup of tea or not. The styles are generally modern, Scandinavian inspired…read moreand very interesting. We stopped at their warehouse/larger store (there is also a design center downtown) and found a large showroom full of things I'd very much like to buy. There's a clearance area off to the side that sells floor models and returns at good discounts. We were looking for some lounge-y chairs and there were options aplenty. Helping us was very knowledgeable Barb who was never intrusive and let us look around. After making the rounds, we kept coming back to one specific chair - Barb let us know they had 2 in stock from a cancelled order (most things are made to order) in our preferred color, plus they were included in their anniversary sale. SOLD!! I work on the commercial furniture side and felt that the quality here was oberall very high and the prices, for what you get, are pretty fair. It's not IKEA prices to be fair but it's also not made in China crap that will fall apart and bottom out in a few months. You'll love it if: you appreciate mid century or modern design, want a high level of quality, want to customize items. You won't like it if: you need cupholders in your furniture.

I clearly stated more than once that I was "just browsing" and "doing fine", but everywhere I turned this guy was trying to sell me something. When I actually did purchase a table - not one that he was trying to push on me, and not with the chair upsell - the checkout and pickup process was fine. I asked for some follow-up information via phone on a different product and received it quickly. I'd be willing to try Rubin's again, but perhaps at the downtown Madison store next time.

I recently purchased a gorgeous leather chaise lounge in a rich shade of chocolate-brown at Rubin's…read moreand had a great experience. I had first entertained the idea of purchasing said chair a few months ago and went in to see their selection. Prior to going in, I had found a 10% off coupon in the Reader, so the incentive to purchase from Rubin's rose proportionately. They had a vast selection of modern contemporary furniture on 2 levels. I had a hard time deciding exactly what to select, but after perusing the inventory, I made up my mind. The salespeople were very friendly and helpful, and not at all pushy. The particular chaise I ordered wasn't in stock and had to be ordered from their warehouse in Madison, WI and would take approximately 8 weeks. I was disappointed to have to wait so long, but good things come to those who wait. I got my chair about 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. It's comfortable as well as stylish. Can a piece of furniture be sexy? Absolutely. And I just ordered a second chair.

My real estate agent's firm highly recommended Phoenix Rising Home Staging for luxury condo units…read more So, I requested this company and another to come out and sell me their ideas/terms/prices. Both companies work with ultra-high end real estate, and have designers on hand to attractively style the home with furnishings. I was particularly partial to Phoenix because of Hannah. While the prices of both companies were comparable, the contractual terms were less favorable with Phoenix; however, I really liked Hannah. She has an art background, and does design for a living. She was impressed by the art in my unit, and knew a good deal about quite a number of them (impressive!). I had to commit to 5months of rent for Phoenix's furniture, at about $2200/month, even knowing my unit would sell in a month or so. 2 of the 3 bedrooms were staged, along with the public rooms. The alternative high-end staging company had a one month commitment of $5K, with each subsequent month being prorated by day (@ $2K/month). This alternative company didn't have Hannah, though, and her design eye. I took the bite and committed to Phoenix knowing my gorgeous unit would sell in a month (it did!), and I am glad I did. Thank you Phoenix Rising, and Hannah!

He had occupied my condo with your furniture, then left my condo damaged! I actually allowed him to buy a "house for his family" without credit as a favor and he used my kindness to financially abuse me and my own new business income! Instead of kindly telling me he couldn't pay before I traveled so I could have my rental ad up for my OWN marketing! We are now at a risk of losing $5500 because he cannot MAKE honest decisions! Based on this type of lying and behavior for your employees, I give you a ONE STAR for quality of talent and how they use their "employment" to secure rental properties then deplete the owner's finances!
