This is a strange place. First I wanted to go in several times and even though the open flags are flying the place is locked up tight in the middle of the afternoon. I just don't get it. Another thing is I ordered the house fried rice. Simple order right? Wrong. I was asked what kind I wanted. I told them just a regular kind I guess. Then asked what I wanted in it? I told them whatever they usually put in the house fried rice. House fried rice, to me and everyone I talk to, is a bunch of veggies and meats cooked with the rice. Not here though. You have to order Pork or chicken or shrimp or other stuff. That's not what the name means. I do have to compliment them on their crab rangoon. Must be homemade because it is absolutly the best I have ever had or heard of. read more

Always delicious food. They are always kind and Courteous on the phone and in person! Highly recommended. read more

Amazingly and constantly authentic food! Can't go wrong! Price is fair! The only other place to get as good is in Bangkok :)

Ordered pad thai with chicken. Chicken was boiled. Dish very bland tasting, hardly any egg in it, no scallions, no bean sprouts, nothing. Ordered online and couldn't submit the order unless I left a tip. A mandatory tip. The takeout came with no utensils, no napkins, and no extra sauce. This used to be a good place. The price point is way too high for generic food. Won't be ordering food there again. read more

We frequently visit this restaurant... mostly for takeout. The food is always well prepared, predictable and has a good balance of flavors. They prepare takeout orders quickly and we have had excellent service. The times we have eaten in the restaurant are the reason for the four stars. Nothing about the quality of food is changed (in fact I find the fresh dishes more aromatic and flavorful). The kitchen is efficient, and that means that often our dinners arrive at the table halfway through the appetizer. I would (and have) absolutely recommend this restaurant. read more

My favorite dishes here are the vegetable soup, dumplings my go to for lunch and the pad see ew with chicken and broccoli at dinner! They are nicest people! And the food is fresh! read more

Went here on a recommendation and was delighted with the choice. Spring rolls, dumplings, pad Thai all were top notch. My fave was the chicken fried rice. Staff was super-friendly. read more

One of of, if not the best, Thai meal we've ever had. We would drive an hour plus just to eat here again.

A good solid Thai restaurant in the Midcoast area. I would love to rave about it more but it lacks anything special. We went as a party of four ordering a variety of classic noodle dishes. All of us thought our meals were decent but no one thought there was anything that stood out. The service was adequate but distant. We might go again but we certainly are in no rush. read more

Our delivery arrived very quickly. A bit pricey but good food. Too many onions in the basil fried rice

Beware that is you go for lunch on the weekend - they charge you dinner prices without any notice. It's a great restaurant and I try hard to support all our downtown businesses - but I really feel like prices posted should be the prices paid and lunch is in the middle of the day - not dinner. Not here though read more

This was some of the best Thai food my husband and I have ever had (and I've been to Thailand). Friendly and prompt service is topped only by the quality of the food. Wed had the fresh rolls, which were a relevation. I'm not sure I've ever had such a fresh fresh roll. : ) My husband had a special (ginger fish) and I had a mango curry with tofu; the curry came in a bowl with LOTS of sauce, which is both authentic and delicious. The next time we are in Bath, we look forward to eating at Best Thai II again. My husband said, after the fact, "I think this is that great Asian place my friend told me about!" : ) read more

First visit, with high hopes, did not disappoint. I had mango fried rice with tofu, and it came out hot, aromatic and flavorful. Service was excellent, but to be fair, I had the place to myself. Paired with a Thai iced tea, my dinner was perfect. read more

I don't need to rave about this restaurant, everyone does! I love Thai food. I cook Thai food and this restaurant truly is THE BEST! Now they have added a take out stop near Walmart. The management is welcoming and polite. The decor is lovely with black lacquered tables. Not easily handicapped accessible with steps out front read more

Best Thai II really is best Thai. Since learning that there was in fact a Thai restaurant in Bath, my friends and I have become regulars. Every time we walk in we're warmly greeted, now by name. The service is always fast even when they are at capacity. The food has always been fantastic and consistent. The pad Thai duck is phenomenal, you should try it with a little bit of extra heat, which just makes the dish even better. The portions are large enough that you may need to take some home with you, which just means you can enjoy it later on. I've always been impressed with everything to do with the restaurant. The friendly staff, the great service, and the incredible food. read more

Complimentary soup was bland with sad little pieces of flavorless vegetables. Chicken satay was not just underdone but raw, which is main reason for only 1 star. Pad thai was a little below average in my experience. I've made better at home. Wait staff was fine. read more

I was visiting Maine for a wedding and found myself craving potstickers. The Best Thai closest to my hotel was unfortunately closed, but this one was open and boy was I thrilled. I kept it simple with the potstickers and the wonton soup. Both were just delicious and the broth was really flavorful, I especially loved the bits of garlic in it and the perfectly steamed broccoli. The steamed potstickers were also just right and the ginger sauce was a perfect complement. Parking was pretty easy, right across the street. Customer service was delightful both taking my phone order and in person pickup. If I loved in Maine, this would be my go-to Thai place. read more

In town for a week at a rented house, and needed some quick takeout while the kids were asleep. Yelp pointed us here, and didn't disappoint. First off, they were fast. I ordered, left the house, and the food was ready when I arrived (less than 10 min). Tom Yum soup was nice and tangy, though it could have used a little more heat. Pad thai, my go-to dish the first time I visit a place, was very tasty. Green curry was a little disappointing, in that the rice had soaked up all the sauce before I got home, and even then, was a little bland. The coconut base and curry spices were detectable, but maybe there just wasn't enough sauce for all that rice. The veggies and chicken were left on the side, sucked mostly sauceless by the rice. Not terrible, but not as good as the pad thai or soup. Definitely worth a try, perhaps for eat-in over take out. read more

Very good food in a delightful, spacious dining room. We were there about 11;30 am and it was not crowded. Best yellow curry I've had. Their other location in Damrascotta has long been a favorite and this is just as good. Restroom are immaculate. read more

I have eaten at Thai restaurants all over Maine and by far this place is the best! Nice quaint cozy dining room. They seated my wife and I next to a radiator that felt wonderful on a cold day! I usually go with the Cashew Chicken. The food came elegantly plated and the serving size was an ample amount. The cashew chicken was exquisite, lightly curied, ample amount of chicken and cashews and veg The freshest spring rolls that I have ever put in my mouth! read more

Sweet & sour Chicken entrée, seafood mix pad Thai, Curry Dishes...This Thai restaurant in downtown Bath opened last fall and gaining a mount of good comments. The first time I have been there are during our schools family weekend at fall, Best Thai just opened. Most recently I went there for dinner with couple of people and one of them are actually from Thailand, I had the Chicken Satay as appetizer for the dinner. The chicken was salted with special spices tastes fresh and tender, with a souse made out of peanuts which make the chicken taster even special, it is one of the best appetizers in this Thai place, and as well as the pork dumplings, those tow are highly recommended. You can't miss a curry dish at a Thai restaurant, as a vegetable-prefer, I had the vegetable curry with fried tofu with brown rice. The tofu was juicy and delicious with vegetables such as snow peas, broccoli, carrot... and brown rice are tasty and in a suitable for eating temperature. "This Thai food is not bad at all! It's even better than some of the restaurants in Thailand." Said form the friend form Thailand. It was delightful meal that I and my friends had, couple of them still wishing to go there again to try the fried rice meal and also have the Chicken Satay once again. So I recommend people to try this little place down town, they also take orders or pick ups, I encourage you to go down to the place as well, they decorated the little space neatly and with a nice Thai-atmosphere, which makes a pleasant meal for people. read more

Absolutely the best Thai food around. Everything is fresh and they always have glass noodles on the menu which are a favorite in our house. Definitely try the pad Thai and the pad see ew. read more

Who expects good Thai food in Bath, Maine? I didn't, but I was pleasantly surprised. We went twice in a week and tried the sweet and sour duck, yellow curry duck, pad Thai duck, plus some appetizers including some tasty crab rangoons. There were two young men acting as hosts and servers, and they were quick to seat us, take our order, and bring our food, all while being friendly and welcoming. Who could ask for more? The restaurant is small but tidy, and even the bathrooms are super clean. A+, Best Thai II. Keep up the good work. read more

My family and I went for dinner, and at first it was quiet but the service started picking up. We all ordered our food, and it didn't take too long for the food to arrive. Except for my mom's food. It was like they literally forgot her food. They forgot her drink and a soup she ordered. My sister tried telling the waitress "were just going to cancel the sound," and she couldn't comprehend that. The waitress literally just walked off, and when she returned she never said anything about possibly not understanding what my sister was trying to say. Then the other waitress comes out with the same soup my mother wanted to get, and her reply was "I'm so sorry, complimentary." Like wtf let's disregard you had another table order that too. But overall the food wasn't too bad, but a bit on the salty side. Their crab rangoons are probably the best thing we ordered. Their soft shell crab special they had going will remind you of fried chicken and gravy. So do yourself a favor and DO NOT order it. I ordered the pad Thai and it has the taste of your traditional pad Thai, but it's like the slimy noodles kind. Depending on who you are it may or may not make your stomach upset after eating it. read more

Might be my own fault for high expectations in Maine but yelp rarely leads me astray. Alas this restaurant to their credit showcases an impressive business strategy if you want to succeed while serving up mediocre food; go to a place with zero competition. The Tom yum was okay but the soft shell crab special was more fried batter than crab and loaded with salt. The noodles were soggy and salty. Even though fresh lobster was getting old I regret this choice. read more

Pleasantly surprised. Pad Thai tasted homemade. We stepped it up a notch by topping it with the crispy yet tender tempura-style chicken that came in the kid's chicken finger meal. Fried pork dumplings were tasty. Fried spring rolls were perfectly cooked but not as flavorful as the other dishes. Will be coming back on our next trip to Bath. read more

This place is great! Closest thing to real Thai food outside of Thailand I've had in a long time.

Had lunch here today with my husband. Amazing! I had the mango curry with a spice of four and it was oh so good. Very spicy, very delicious. My husband had the mango curry also with a spice of three which he said was perfect. The waiter was very courteous and quick and did not seem to mind my 100 questions a bit. The restaurant is very clean and we were served a complimentary soup which was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back again! read more

GREAT Thai food. I don't go anywhere else. Nice eat in dining or get take out. A+++

We loved it. We're kind of snobs about our Thai food, but this made the standard. It was a bit of a surprise to have Brussels sprouts, but we went for it and loved them. Tofu Cashew Nut was delicious and a good sized serving as well. Great service too! Capun cap! read more

We ate dinner here one night and got carry-out for a potluck the next night while visiting the area. We thought the food was very good-- fresh, well-seasoned, and appropriately spicy at level 3 and 4 heat requested. A new job brings me past Bath daily and I couldn't be more happy to find this spot. New house in a new town for us and we have yet to locate anything local for Thai food that's good. FANTASTIC! We've had take out several times. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but it's very pleasant inside. Highly recommend.

I have been coming to Bath for years but this is first time I have been to this restaurant. After reading all the glowing reviews I finally had to give it a try. This was an early dinner for me at around 5 pm the restaurant was mostly empty and I had my choice of seating. Everything was clean and appeared well kept. From reading previous reviews I knew the service would be quick and good so I came in ready to eat. I stated with an order of the crab Rangoon and a Thai iced tea. The iced tea came out immediately and although a little unusual visually it tasted good. I believe it is just lightly sweetened iced tea with a little cream in it. I would probably order it again. The crab Rangoon also came out very fast. These were definitely a step up from normal take fare served with a tasty chili sauce on the side. It was tough to wait for them to cool as I was really wanting to devour the plate. My main order was chicken and shrimp drunken noodles. It arrived moments after finishing up the appetizer. The portion was considerable and the spicy aroma was intoxicating. I ordered the dish as 4 out of 5 hot and it was just about where I like drunken noodles to be. I found myself needing a sip of my beverage after every two bites or so. The spiciness was strong as it should be with dish without being overwhelming. Lots of flavor here! My eyes were tearing and my head was sweating but I could stop eating it. I had a water, a Thai tea, and a beer with all being finished by the time I got through this dish. I will like go down to the 3 level on my next visit but this dish was excellent as I had it. I will definitely order it again but would also love to try some of their other dishes. All in all the whole experience was great and I left thinking I should have tried this place a long time ago. I will be back for sure. read more

This is a wonderful gem in Bath, ME. The crab Rangoon and Thai tofu toast are a true treat. Try the pork dumplings and chicken satay with peanut sauce is terrific. But save room for the pad Thai with vegetables, or pad Thai with seafood. They have multiple specialities that cross every taste bud. Don't miss this great gift to Midcoast Maine. read more
