We frequently visit this restaurant... mostly for takeout. The food is always well prepared, predictable and has a good balance of flavors. They prepare takeout orders quickly and we have had excellent service. The times we have eaten in the restaurant are the reason for the four stars. Nothing about the quality of food is changed (in fact I find the fresh dishes more aromatic and flavorful). The kitchen is efficient, and that means that often our dinners arrive at the table halfway through the appetizer. I would (and have) absolutely recommend this restaurant. read more

I was visiting Maine for a wedding and found myself craving potstickers. The Best Thai closest to my hotel was unfortunately closed, but this one was open and boy was I thrilled. I kept it simple with the potstickers and the wonton soup. Both were just delicious and the broth was really flavorful, I especially loved the bits of garlic in it and the perfectly steamed broccoli. The steamed potstickers were also just right and the ginger sauce was a perfect complement. Parking was pretty easy, right across the street. Customer service was delightful both taking my phone order and in person pickup. If I loved in Maine, this would be my go-to Thai place. read more

This was some of the best Thai food my husband and I have ever had (and I've been to Thailand). Friendly and prompt service is topped only by the quality of the food. Wed had the fresh rolls, which were a relevation. I'm not sure I've ever had such a fresh fresh roll. : ) My husband had a special (ginger fish) and I had a mango curry with tofu; the curry came in a bowl with LOTS of sauce, which is both authentic and delicious. Best Thai II really is best Thai. Since learning that there was in fact a Thai restaurant in Bath, my friends and I have become regulars. Every time we walk in we're warmly greeted, now by name. The service is always fast even when they are at capacity. The food has always been fantastic and consistent. The pad Thai duck is phenomenal, you should try it with a little bit of extra heat, which just makes the dish even better. The portions are large enough that you may need to take some home with you, which just means you can enjoy it later on. I've always been impressed with everything to do with the restaurant. My family and I went for dinner, and at first it was quiet but the service started picking up. We all ordered our food, and it didn't take too long for the food to arrive. Except for my mom's food. It was like they literally forgot her food. They forgot her drink and a soup she ordered. My sister tried telling the waitress "were just going to cancel the sound," and she couldn't comprehend that. The waitress literally just walked off, and when she returned she never said anything about possibly not understanding what my sister was trying to say. Then the other waitress comes out with the same soup my mother wanted to get, and her reply was "I'm so sorry, complimentary." Like wtf let's disregard you had another table order that too. But overall the food wasn't too bad, but a bit on the salty side. Their crab rangoons are probably the best thing we ordered. Their soft shell crab special they had going will remind you of fried chicken and gravy. So do yourself a favor and DO NOT order it. I ordered the pad Thai and it has the taste of your traditional pad Thai, but it's like the slimy noodles kind. Alas this restaurant to their credit showcases an impressive business strategy if you want to succeed while serving up mediocre food; go to a place with zero competition. The Tom yum was okay but the soft shell crab special was more fried batter than crab and loaded with salt. The noodles were soggy and salty. In town for a week at a rented house, and needed some quick takeout while the kids were asleep. Yelp pointed us here, and didn't disappoint. First off, they were fast. I ordered, left the house, and the food was ready when I arrived (less than 10 min). Tom Yum soup was nice and tangy, though it could have used a little more heat. Pad thai, my go-to dish the first time I visit a place, was very tasty. Green curry was a little disappointing, in that the rice had soaked up all the sauce before I got home, and even then, was a little bland. The coconut base and curry spices were detectable, but maybe there just wasn't enough sauce for all that rice. The veggies and chicken were left on the side, sucked mostly sauceless by the rice. Not terrible, but not as good as the pad thai or soup. Definitely worth a try, perhaps for eat-in over take out. read more

The first time I have been there are during our schools family weekend at fall, Best Thai just opened. Most recently I went there for dinner with couple of people and one of them are actually from Thailand, I had the Chicken Satay as appetizer for the dinner. The chicken was salted with special spices tastes fresh and tender, with a souse made out of peanuts which make the chicken taster even special, it is one of the best appetizers in this Thai place, and as well as the pork dumplings, those tow are highly recommended. You can't miss a curry dish at a Thai restaurant, as a vegetable-prefer, I had the vegetable curry with fried tofu with brown rice. The tofu was juicy and delicious with vegetables such as snow peas, broccoli, carrot... and brown rice are tasty and in a suitable for eating temperature. "This Thai food is not bad at all! It's even better than some of the restaurants in Thailand." Said form the friend form Thailand. It was delightful meal that I and my friends had, couple of them still wishing to go there again to try the fried rice meal and also have the Chicken Satay once again. Who expects good Thai food in Bath, Maine? I didn't, but I was pleasantly surprised. We went twice in a week and tried the sweet and sour duck, yellow curry duck, pad Thai duck, plus some appetizers including some tasty crab rangoons. There were two young men acting as hosts and servers, and they were quick to seat us, take our order, and bring our food, all while being friendly and welcoming. Who could ask for more? My husband had the mango curry also with a spice of three which he said was perfect. The waiter was very courteous and quick and did not seem to mind my 100 questions a bit. I have been coming to Bath for years but this is first time I have been to this restaurant. After reading all the glowing reviews I finally had to give it a try. This was an early dinner for me at around 5 pm the restaurant was mostly empty and I had my choice of seating. Everything was clean and appeared well kept. From reading previous reviews I knew the service would be quick and good so I came in ready to eat. I stated with an order of the crab Rangoon and a Thai iced tea. The iced tea came out immediately and although a little unusual visually it tasted good. I believe it is just lightly sweetened iced tea with a little cream in it. I would probably order it again. The crab Rangoon also came out very fast. These were definitely a step up from normal take fare served with a tasty chili sauce on the side. It was tough to wait for them to cool as I was really wanting to devour the plate. My main order was chicken and shrimp drunken noodles. It arrived moments after finishing up the appetizer. The portion was considerable and the spicy aroma was intoxicating. I ordered the dish as 4 out of 5 hot and it was just about where I like drunken noodles to be. I found myself needing a sip of my beverage after every two bites or so. The spiciness was strong as it should be with dish without being overwhelming. Lots of flavor here! My eyes were tearing and my head was sweating but I could stop eating it. I had a water, a Thai tea, and a beer with all being finished by the time I got through this dish. I will like go down to the 3 level on my next visit but this dish was excellent as I had it. I will definitely order it again but would also love to try some of their other dishes. All in all the whole experience was great and I left thinking I should have tried this place a long time ago. I will be back for sure. read more
