I had a leak in my roof in January of 2026, I call American Restoration. They come out quickly, tarp the roof, and set up fans to air out the leak. They say they'll come back to pick up their equipment and get a test for asbestos so they can begin demolition of the leak. Weeks go by and I hear nothing. I call to inquire, they say they lost the sample and need a new one. No communication whatsoever. Finally, they begin work a few months later, they find crazy mold in our ceiling and say they will send pictures to insurance to cover the cleanup. Great. They finish the demo and say they will be back next week to patch up the hole in the ceiling. A week goes by, then another. Eventually, it is the end of April 2026, going into May and I still have a giant hole in my roof. I contact Angel, my project manager, multiple times throughout this, he says he is waiting on insurance approval to go ahead with the rebuild. I'm no expert in this but why would you begin demo without the go-ahead to rebuild. I say I will pay in advance to begin the refurbishment process. I call insurance, he says they haven't sent him anything. Turns out we hadn't paid our deductible yet so that's why labor had paused. Mind you, throughout this process I am given random quotes of costs of labor, and percentages I have to pay upfront in order for work to be done or paid off, all via email not any formal receipt of anything . Eventually, the roof is repaired after five months. Our deductible has been fulfilled, we leave Restoration to get their remaining funds from our insurance broker and believe the deal is done. Months later, it is now July, I am getting an email that I am about to be sent to collections for unpaid funds. For the Mold Removal back in March. I email back asking where this fee came from, the insurance already paid them for the interior. I call insurance again, turns out they never sent the Mold pictures to insurance so they were unaware of this process being done to begin with. My insurance cuts a check, a few days later I get ANOTHER email stating the balance is still unpaid. I have to tell them the check should reach them in a few days and if not then to contact me. I wake up again this morning and have yet another email stating another fee is unpaid and that they "miscalculated" what was due. I am personally very tired of this, and now have to direct them immediately to my insurance to deal with. Stay away from this company like the plague.
