March of 2024 submitted request for bids on new roofing project for home. Sent out many bid request and had reply from 3 that was probabilities. The others no response or upon review of respondents capabilities proved not acceptable. April of 2024 chose Whitlock roofing and obtained measurements and preparation for install. May, work was done. Inspector came out and passed roof construction. June of 2024 we noticed some glaring problems in construction. Whitlock came out and worked on problem replacing entire sections of roof. Patching minor glitches and construction oversight flaws. For the last year I have studying the roof wandering what is wrong with it. It seems off somehow. After studying many and I mean many roofs of metal construction. I have noticed a glaring difference from other construction and ours. All roofs of metal construction are squared along the bottom seam around the house. Using the manufactures flat edge as the common line. Looking at ours I find that the bottom edge of our home is not cut but bent under. With any seems and or ridges having metal strip or edging folded over or around it. This gives the roof a jagged uneven line around the bottom edges. From a distance it looks off some how. A closer look revels a hacksaw blade appearance following the edge around the home. This hacksaw blade look is what has been troubling me for the past year. Each panel is longer or shorter than the next panel adjacent to it. Looks like a saw blade laid on its side. I do not know if this will hamper longevity of the roofing material. The warranty duration. Leaks and other environmental elements, which could shorten roofing material life. It is however an item that keeps me from giving a 5 star review. It does not give the finished roof a clean square install look. As the other roofs of metal construction seem to exhibit from far and close viewing. This install and several other factors result in a three star review. I can not give a four star because of glaring problems in construction that never happened or installation resulted in something other than what was discussed during pre installation. The roof has not leaked during the last year following construction. This is a plus. However it has not improved in appearance and still has lingering concern over possible future problems because of the folded edges and hacksaw blade appearance. It is very uneven and jagged looking. With many parts folded that may result in water damming in joints and early rusting, or material failure. Time will tell, as it always does. read more

Our roof needed to be replaced, they showed up, did a fairly good job however they dropped a stack of shingles near the east side of the house knocking a shelf off the wall in one room breaking some antique figurines. their clean up was terrible they left piles of debris and trash all over the yard. They said they had a machine that they would use to pick up any nails that were dropped. They did a crappy job if they ever tried to do it. Every day we are finding nails on the property one day we picked up 20 roofing nails just outback.do not use this company! read more

Disappointing. We had our roof replaced due to hail damage. It looked pretty good. We have them specific instructions on how wanted them to handle roofing around the cooler. It didn't matter. We have had two leaks since then. Claim number three filed with the insurance. First time they did not fix the damaged soffit. Second repair they did the sloppiest job. Insurance estimator agreed saying it was the worst repair he'd seen. And it leaked. Third time... we requested a different contractor. Another neighbor of ours had similar issues. Had to get someone else out to her house to correct the damage. I'm being kind giving two stars. read more

Greg Lavoie came out to talk to me about a leaking roof. My hallway, guest room and office were all getting wet from the leak. What a hot mess I had on my hands. Plus I was getting nowhere with my insurance company. Greg suggested that I contact the insurance company that covered me when the damage occurred. A appraiser came out from my old insurance company they covered two thirds of the roof replacement. If Greg hadn't made that suggestion I would have to come up for it all myself. Not only did I get a new roof but my skylights were all replaced and my solar tube skylight was also taken care of. The guys who did the work were fantastic. This new roof is the most expensive job my house has gone through. I upgraded from gravel to the white covering which I expect will keep the interior cooler in summer. A very professional, well run company that produces quality work. The onsite crew is very hard working, know what they are doing and as tidy as possible, particularly given the nature of the work. Some unanticipated issues arose during our installation. Viable alternatives were presented, discussed and the work completed, still on schedule. I have an ongoing problem with a roof installation done by Whitlock Enterprises in 2017. A Durolast roof was installed. Water has infiltrated the membrane on two ends of the home. One leak was fixed early. Another has lead to ceiling damage. I chose this expensive roofing option because I now live out of state and must rent the home out to tenants. I chose what I thought was the best option for avoiding roofing problems. Either the material or the installation has failed. The 20 year warranty has done me no good as it only covers only materials. read more

I just don't get any of these negative reviews. I have a corporate office which Whitlock has performed above my expectations! They are prompt, friendly, professional and easy to work with. I especially appreciate their knowledge and expertise and I never feel that I am getting the run a round or not being taken care of. We had severe hail damage on several of our new residential homes in Tijeras and Whitlock is standing by to replace 4 roofs that all need replacing due to the damage caused by the recent storm. Don't waste you time. We had Greg come out on April 4th for an estimate, were told we would be hearing back from him the first part of the next week. When I hadn't heard from them by the following Thursday, I called to follow up. Greg told me that he'd have my estimate for me tomorrow (Friday, April 12) when I hadn't heard from anyone by the following Tuesday (April 16) I called back and was told Greg was on vacation for that whole week. I explained that I was waiting for an estimate and was assured by the office that they would "get in touch with him (his phone mailbox was full) and explain what was going on and I would hear back that week. It's now the end of the next week (Thursday, April 26) and I called back to tell them not to bother. If they didn't want to take my money to fix my roof, someone could have said so. I've now wasted 3 weeks waiting on an estimate that it's pretty clear nobody wanted to write in the first place. I don't see any reason that you'd treat a potential paying customer this way. Moreover, if they can't be bothered to deliver an estimate, why would I believe they'd have any more concern for repairing my roof? Don't bother calling unless you'd like to be ignored. read more
