What sets him apart from other technichans is that he'll try to see what's wrong and fix it. Vs. recommending you buy a whole new system. Our furnace was broken, and he tried to fix it first by seeing if the issue was with the capacitor. When that didn't work he found out it was the motor. Instead of getting a new motor for our system, which was pretty expensive, he instead suggested we replace the furnace. Only because the cost of a new one was a little bit more than the cost of an motor. Also, the furnace was almost 20 years old. Every time he's come over, he was exactly on time. Getting an appointment with Ribbit Heating/AC was particularly easy, with their dispatcher not only providing lots of opportunities for appointments, but also giving us follow-up calls on the day of, ensuring that we were home in time to meet the service techs. The two techs who arrived were both timely and courteous, swiftly diagnosing the issue with our A/C unit. They provided accurate pricing throughout the process and were done quickly. And right now? Our A/C is blowing cool and comfortable for the rest of the summer. No complaints whatsoever!

Unfortunately I did not get a positive customer experience with the remodeling effort. Attention to detail is not something that was a main priority with the remodeling work that was done to the bathrooms, as things were not aligned/centered properly and just generally some sloppy work. Some of the problems were due to issues with the house, but they didn't even try to find a solution to make things right. And when I asked them about it after the work was done, they just brushed me off like it wasn't worth their time to do a professional, quality job. They rushed us into making decisions and even selected some of the remodeling items themselves, without us realizing what they were doing before it was too late. They did good on the plumbing, and I might recommend them for that, but I would still be quite hesitant to recommend them for any remodeling work. I got no response whatsoever from the owner about the concerns/issues I had during or after the work was done, even though I tried to contact him several times. Unfortunately I wish I just would have went with someone else, it was a disappointing experience in that they were not professional in all aspects of the job. Update 7/18: I felt that I should provide an update to my review for anyone considering hiring Plumbing Installers for work in their home. I had issues from the work that Plumbing Installers did, based on poor workmanship, that I wanted them to fix. They initially ignored me and then when they finally addressed them, they simply dismissed them. They then tried to pay me off with a low sum of money where they wanted to be no longer liable for any issues incurred from the work that they did and they also wanted their warranty to be voided. I originally thought that the money offered was for me to pay for someone else to fix the issues I have from the work Plumbing installers did and the warranty would still be maintained for everything else not taken care of with that money. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. They do not honor their warranty as stated, as well as the no quibbles guarantee listed on their website. They are deceitful and unprofessional when it comes to the consumer and them following their own business standards they have listed on their website. They basically wanted to pay me off to let them off the hook from any current/future issues and to prevent me from stating the truth about the job they did. This not a company which one should consider hiring if they want a quality, professional job done as well as having coverage for the work they do in case something goes wrong.

All was fine until this past fall when they said she needed a new heating and air conditioning system. The current unit is only 11 years old. She lives by herself and they convinced her it was too old and leaking, so a new one had to be installed. The price quoted was $10,349.00. Her house is only 1,661sqft. She signed an estimate, not a contract. When my brother and I found out we were not happy. My brother was there the morning that the installers came and told them we were getting a second opinion and refused the installation. After the installers left, the office called my mom and told her she now owed them $500 because she signed a CONTRACT, and they brought the unit from their warehouse in Dayton. (She lives in Huber Heights, long drive, I know.) Before we could get a copy of the ESTIMATE she signed, she took a $500 check to them. NO WHERE on the ESTIMATE did it say that there was a "restocking fee". Results of the second opinion: $912 for a new seal, including labor. AND they said the unit will likely last another 5 or 6 years. We will no longer be using Ed's Heating and Cooling for anything. UNTRUSTWORTHY. It would be great if they gave the $500 back, but I know they will not. Lesson Learned, BEWARE.

Their techs were courteous as usual, helped to tell me what I should do to prevent my dogs from damaging the new unit and got me all set. I usually have so much trouble with service at my house, but every time I have Ed's out (at least 6 times over the years) their techs are very nice and I get my problems taken care of quickly and easily.

It's still under warranty, he ordered the parts and charged me for them, saying I would be reimbursed from the company after the install. It has cost me $2,600 at this point, and it's still not fixed as of 8/18, and I haven't heard from them in a week. They've been routinely unreliable, setting up dates to come out for install and then not showing up or communicating. Do not use them if you have any other option.
