After all, this wasn't a furnace replacement we needed, but a completely new installation. Frank's estimate was lower than all but one. However, somehow I knew that low estimate didn't mean the work would be lower quality than those companies whose quotes were double and triple. Immediately, I felt I could trust him. I didn't get that sense with most of the others. When I visited his website I noticed he had Colossians 3:23 displaying there, which states, "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men." After a few years of continuing to see Frank regularly for annual furnace inspections (at both the rental house and our primary home) I can see that he really lives out this verse. There are a lot of large companies out there who are only interested in their bottom line. I've sadly worked with some of them before. I promptly arranged for repairs, as I occasionally use the furnace on cooler nights, even when daytime temperatures don't require it. Unfortunately, the first appointment was canceled at the last minute, and the second appointment couldn't be completed because the new heat exchanger arrived damaged, necessitating a reorder. Additionally, I was overcharged for cleaning the blower, which wasn't performed due to the heat exchanger issue. I'm still awaiting a refund and am uncertain about when the furnace repairs will be finished. This situation could have been managed more effectively, and I hope everything gets resolved soon. I will post an update when everything is completed as requested.
