Oh my GOSH the mounting and frame made the piece. I went into the shop on a Saturday and it was busy, so they asked me to take a look at the different types of frames while I was waiting. I had a signed album to give to a close friend, and I had looked at frame design after frame design, and nothing really gave me that "OOH!" inside. Lynda took one frame off the wall, put it with the mat and I immediately knew that was IT. I have never been more pleased to give a gift! It was beautiful. The only comment I have is that I might request a very sturdy mounting if you have to ship the piece. I used FedEx's art shipping and the mounting still shifted. My friend likes it because he can see the actual album peeking out, but it makes the mount off center, and if it were me, I would be dismantling it and re-centering it. Worth every penny! read more

I have used Best Framing many times in the past for different framing needs. They always do an excellent job. I have worked with several members of their team and all of the have been so helpful and creative. They always have great suggestions on frames, matt and glass to compliment the pictures or things that I want framed. They pay great attention to the quality of their work which is rare these days. Today, I brought in 2 larges pictures that were already framed. I just needed to have wire put on the backs so that I could hang them. I was greeted with a smile and helped right away. I had not been in the store for over a year so I know they didn't recognize me as a previous customer. They told me they could add the wire for hanging and that it would take about 15 minutes if I wanted to wait. When they were finished they said there was no charge!! I was shocked! My rating is specific to the pricing/quote process. I have done several pieces here and each time the quote process with the associates was very mysterious. They didn't show the breakdown of charges. Felt like they gave out the highest quote possible to see if customers would just accept the prices. From my last experience my quote was $345 for a 24"x24" which seemed way pricey. I like the service, but wish they are more transparent with how they quote. I would do more jobs here if I felt they were reasonably priced and showing the breakdown and being more upfront would definitely help. read more

I have done business with Best Framing in the past and have been very satisfied. This time when I went there I was stopped in the parking lot due to their rules re: COVID. I was treated like a criminal for not calling for an appointment. So, after some discussion, they let me in. I was the only customer. Lynda ,the employee who helped me with my order was OK. The date was 9-1-20 and the 2 framed prints would be ready on 9-24-20. Mid September I had a medical issue and surgery was scheduled for 9-24-20. As I would not be able to drive for 2 to 3 weeks, I called to see if my prints could be picked up 9-23-20. An Yvonne/Ivanna(?) said she would try. Well, that did not work out. They must work nights as I received an email on the 24th that said I could pick up my order. I won't be doing business with them again. Just moved to Huntington Beach from LA County in January. I had an old oil painting that badly needed reframing. I had put it off for years. During the move I was determined to get it back into shape so I could hang it again. I found Best Framing in Yelp and brought them the painting in the middle of the pandemic, maybe in April or May. I told them I wanted a simple brown frame. They helped me find exactly what I wanted and called me in a few days. Social distancing at all points of the the transaction. Great job. I actually called them a day or two after getting the painting home again, just to say thanks for doing such a good job. I think they thought it was a bit weird to get a call just to say thanks, but anyway I was very happy with the work for a very reasonable price. But the real reason that prompted me to write this review several months later, is seeing on the news tonight how they are donating to the community to help other businesses recover after the devastation of the Corona virus. I recognized the name of the company and recalled how happy I was with the experience. Now I am sure. Not only do they do good work, but they are good people. The show room was nice and the employees were friendly but it was 1. extremely expensive (I would even say overpriced) and 2. they did not have a very good selection of mats and frames. I came with 4 artistic prints and wanted to see many choices but was only shown a limited amount of options. I stopped in Best Framing yesterday to inquire about plexiglass guards. Their shop is amazing! They have built a warehouse showroom in Covid that is open on one side making it spacious and airy, a place you will feel comfortable spending time to focus on your framing. Medi and Kristen were incredibly generous and donated some extras plexiglass guards to be used for our charity. When I called to place an additional order, their employee was friendly and efficient. We were so excited to find a framing place with such incredible reviews right down the street from our house, so we brought 5 vintage prints to frame. He promised they would be ready in 1 week on Friday, but on Friday at 5 pm, he says they're not ready. He promises to deliver to our house between 5 and 5:30 pm the following Monday, so we pay him the total balance. Monday, he doesn't show up and doesn't call us back after we left voicemail messages. Tuesday we get hold of him and he says he forgot about Monday. Our voicemail messages? "The machine doesn't work." He promises to deliver to our house between 7 and 7:30 pm Wednesday night. Wednesday night, no show again, no call and no response to our concerned messages. We cancel our plans for dinner outting. The next morning we call him at 8 am and he insists he is coming over to deliver our paintings "right now." We are both heading out to work at this time but now have to wait for him. 15 minutes later, he arrives apologizing and delivers our 5 pieces. We tell him he should respond to customer voicemail messages. He responds that he doesn't check messages on purpose. Ha ha. So while we are scratching our heads about his customer service philosophy, we did get some excellent framing work. They were all well-wrapped in bubble wrap, too, so we're happy with the quality of the work and the pricing was also very good at $255 for 5 pieces (relatively basic frames). Nonetheless, a word of caution about this place: George is an excellent framer and a real nice guy. However, you may have to chase after him to get your stuff back, and he's just not a man of his word when it comes to appointments. read more

These guys are super nice, but in the spirit of honest & meaningful reviews, I have to say the actual service they provided was sub-par. We had two different orders - both pieces of art that we ask FMA to gallery wrap (stretch canvas over simple frame, with no visible framing). The first piece they forgot to install a wire for hanging or any hangers - no big deal, and they came to our house to install it, so that was nice. The art didn't quite fully wrap around the top edge, even though it fully wrapped the other 3 sides - maybe they thought it would be hung up above eye level? The second piece took a really long time, and when we called to check on it they said "oh, we called you, but..." and trailed off uncertainly. We never got a message, but who knows. The piece itself was really poorly done - the sides were partially wrapped, so half artwork and half white canvas - but even that was done unevenly, so it looked really bad. But worse, the staples were placed in the side of the framing, instead of behind the frame as is industry norm. Tons of staples, not lined up or evenly spaced, so the piece could not be displayed as delivered. To top it off, they'd forgotten a hanging wire again. I talked with them about the problems - they were nice - although gave a lame excuse that they thought I meant something else (but I made it clear I didn't know the terminology, so I just described what I wanted - they are the ones that wrote up the work order). Whatever - everyone makes mistakes. So I went into very precise detail about how I wanted the piece remounted with the artwork showing on the sides - and that it was important to me that they minimize the amount of art they wrapped around the back, because the piece was starting to look odd as the total canvas size was shrinking. Basically wanted them to move it just far enough towards the back to cover the staple holes. I explained that the piece had taken us a year to acquire, was expensive (for us) and was really important to us. Again, it seemed like to took a long time (I think when you mess up, it should be more of a priority to fix it). When we got it back, much more canvas than necessary was stretched around the back, which unfortunately has made the piece look kinda funky (it was a whale on a broad background of sea/water, but now the whale totally dominates the scene). We were very disappointed in the final product, and the lack of effort put into fixing an already botched order. So, although really nice, they didn't listen to our instructions, with the initial order or after they messed up a piece of art that is really valuable to us. An eye for what looks good and attention to detail seems important when framing art, and we saw little of either. read more
