I then proceeded to walk the whole store 2 or 3 times and saw plenty of customers but no employees to help. I pick out some headphones and looked over the store again for help but no one was around. An amazing experience! Went to get an SD card for my dash cam. I was clueless. The selection was overwhelming. I picked the SD card I thought I needed but I wanted to confirm it with a salesman. I asked the greeter if he cold send someone to help me. After a minute or two, along comes the advisor "MAN ANT"!!! He was so very helpful. I told him about the dash cam, he looked at the SD card I had picked and told me it was the wrong one. He went into the computer and not only did he find exactly what I needed, he gave me a lesson on it, how to install it and how to transfer the data from dash cam to my computer. I just went in there today and there were 2 guys standing as greeters by the door talking to each other and zero, I mean no one else helping customers in the store. Went in to find a TV, the back walls had a few TVs badly displayed with none of the newer cutting edge TVs. Even if they did have something there was no one to answer questions. I recently made a visit to Best Buy store #380 in Slidell, LA to trade in some electronics I no longer wanted. Prior to making my visit, I went to Best Buy's trade in website to do a valuation on the products to see what I could get for them, as I have done in the past. When I arrived to the store, the person behind the counter was unable to assist me as she was not of age to process the transaction. A young man came over to assist, however, did not know how to process the transaction as he had never done it before. Shortly after another woman, named Melissa, came over to assist. She failed to acknowledge me and immediately went to helping the young man. Additionally, her body language exuded annoyance from the moment she stepped up. While looking at one of the products I had for trade in, she stated to the young man that it would be rated as fair. I asked why would it be given that rating, to which she replied, "because it is scratched." Her response was extremely dismissive, as she proceeded to continue to transaction. Furthermore, she failed to show me where the scratches were that she allegedly found on the item that warranted a rating of fair. Soon thereafter she told me that my item would not be accepted either way because Best Buy was not accepting this item for trade in. She then tossed the item towards me, proceeded to the next item and stated it would not be accepted for trade in either because it was the same as the first item and pushed that one away as well. The entire time she made no eye contact, she was rude, dismissive, and her overall attitude was insulting. I was very put off so I told her I did not want to continue with looking at the rest of my items and bagged my things and left the store. I returned to the Best Buy trade in website to double check what I did prior to coming into the store to ensure I did not make a mistake only to discover that I had not. The items that were accessed, even if considered fair, were given a value for trade in, not that they were not accepted by Best Buy. I visited the store a few days prior to trade in another device I had and that process was the complete opposite experience. The person was friendly, made small talk and I received the exact value for the device that I expected based on the valuation I completed online prior to coming into the store. This most recent visit has been, by far, one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I, personally, have held many positions in retail, including at Best Buy. This behavior would not have been tolerated at the location in which I worked and does represent the values of the Best Buy I once worked for. read more

Trying to call the local store, you're routed to a national call center. Useless. Regardless of how you reply to the questions, you're on a single path, that's very annoying, and doesn't help you resolve a problem. The rating should be ZERO. For a tech company, they don't have a rudimentary idea of how to automated customer service. I know: I used to design human interface systems. Then, when you finally get to talk to someone, they will put you on hold (in my case, for 10 minutes), in the middle of a conversation. Horrible customer service! Walked in when they opened and already knew what we wanted but had to wait for someone to help. Asked twice for help, no one came, 40 minutes later we get inline so we can just tell them to get the item we want and get out, apparently asking for an item that's in the back is more complicated than it should be. I stood in line for 20 waiting for the item and then they made me get back in line at a NEW line to wait another 20 minutes to be checked out when I was already ready to check out the first 2 times I was in line for it. Seriously, when u have a customer that's ready and has been waiting, customer service 101 is to check those people out FIRST not last. Pathetic. Won't ever shop at the one in fremeaux center again. After ordering a microwave online for local pickup, I decided to read the reviews. I should have read the reviews first! I ordered after seeing the claim "1 hour and it's ready AND we will even email you when it is ready. Well, 2 hours later, still no email. Then a phone call to the Slidell store, and several minutes of listening to an automated voice tell me to load the app, a customer service person answers and insists on helping me after I asked to speak with a manager. She has no clue why I have not received an email, but the computer "shows waiting on customer". Again, I ask to speak with a manager who can assist me with the answers to my questions. Again, I get put on hold and another customer service person answers and again, another person that has no answers except that the emails are automated and not generated by the local store. Low and behold, another transfer to another csr who knows only that the warehouse staff cannot bring the item to the front of the store until customer gets there. Ok, so, long story short....No One knows what is going on. I chose to get my refund since I paid online prior to pickup. I loved their original location on Northshore. But it moved to Fremaux Town Center for more traffic. It's well lit and organized reasonably well, but it's much smaller than their original location. Their prices are reasonable and I've never had a bad experience with them. Their employees in the appliance sections definitely know their stuff, and the Geek Squad successfully unbricked my wife's laptop after a abortive attempt to install Windows 10 when it first came out. They also recommended Webroot for our PCs, which was better than the anti-virus program we were using. read more

I had to go to this store, rather than the Covington one (which I love!), because they had the phone I was looking for at the time. Looking back now, I wish I had just let the Covington store order it for me, like they offered to do. My experience with the Slidell store was terrible. First, we had a hard time finding it, since they moved to a new location and the Maps app obviously did not know the correct location. We ended up on the opposite side of town! That's not the store's fault, though. When we arrived, there were two people working the mobile phone area, which seemed pretty busy. After a few minutes, someone helped us with our purchase. He was new, so I won't go on about how much he didn't know, but it was a quite a lot. Needless to say, we finally left about four hours later with our new phones and some uncertainty about whether they would actually work or not. I suppose I should write a review for the Mexican restaurant across the parking lot. We did spend about an hour there while they were trying to figure something out on the phone. Well, the phone thing worked out eventually, so we were okay with that. The next problem came with a free item we were promised when we purchased the phone. It was one of those wait-30-days-and-we'll-give-you-this-thingeebob deals. 30 days passed and not a peep...I even gave them an extra few days before I called...then, my nightmare began... The person I spoke with told me I would need to contact the store because things were not input correctly into the system during my purchase. Not surprising, since the poor guy didn't have a clue. I contacted the manager and she seemed more than happy to help out. She took my information and made some calls, then was stumped because she didn't have enough information. She told me to call another number and give them my specific information (which should be in their system, right?). I called and, apparently I have a knack for finding people who are new on the job to help me...The person on the phone connected me with the department she thought would be able to help and, of course, they didn't have a clue. Soooooo...back to the manager, who, after 3 additional e-mails over a period of two weeks, has never responded. Back in limbo I go... I called the number again and actually found someone who seemed competent. She talked with her supervisor and gave me the number for the Corporate office because she thought they would want to hear about my experience at this store. Now, I await their office hours to speak with someone who will hopefully get me my free thingeebob and end this once and for all. THEN, I will NEVER set foot in this store again!!! Received a ring door bell for Christmas purchased from Best Buy. Returned it 2 days later along with the gift receipt and got store credit. Looked thru the store and couldn't find anything we wanted. Went back and looked again, and the only thing we were interested in were the gift cards for restaurants. Went to purchase them, and was told that couldn't be done because of scams. Talked to a manager about this being scams, and was told it was corporate policy. Was given the phone number for corporate (1-888-bestbuy). That number gave me somebody in South America. There is no way to call Best Buy corporate office. So if you use the store credit for merchandise, they make a big profit. Whereas if you buy restaurant gift cards, they don't make as much profit. My husband and I went to best buy with a specific budget hoping to buy a washer, dryer and desktop computer. The priority was our washer and dryer and realistically, we didn't think we'd be able to fit in the computer. First, Kristi (I think that's her name), helped me in appliances. She was patient with me although I had an actively toddler running around. Then Kevin wrapped up. I think Kevin was relatively new but he was super nice and knowledgeable. When it came time to check out, Kevin had some issues with applying a discount that I thought I was eligible for. That's when Terrance stepped in. I believe he may have been a supervisor? I'm not sure. Ultimately, I wasn't eligible for the discount but Terrance still found a way for me to at least get complimentary installation. I also can't forget Alina (I think). She was a young lady who was assisting me in trading in my laptop. She was patient, kind and went above and beyond what I asked her to do. Overall, the staff was very friendly and certainly exceeded our expectations. I will continue to give them my business because I felt appreciated as a customer. read more

After experiencing some problems with my aging laptop, I took it to Best Buy to be evaluated. In the end, it was more cost effective to replace it so I purchased a new one leaving it and my old at the store for the Geekers to do what Geekers do. Thrilled to death with my purchase and experience with the staff across the board, I left the story happy, as they say, as a clam. UNTIL this morning when I decided to try contacting story to ask one simple question. Throughout the day I have been on hold numerous times, once for over 1 hour and 12 minutes. I have been online to "customer service spooks" and finally, after trying for several hours more to speak to a real person, I got a real person on the phone who transferred me to another real person (both of whom admitted that they did NOT work for Best Buy but a contract service) and the final guy put me back on hold AGAIN which I hung up after 29:33 minutes. Now, at 6:10 pm, cst, after trying since before lunch to speak with a Best Buy employee and still not having EVER spoken to a Best Buy Employee, Tomorrow, (I won't go tonight for fear of getting arrested) I will go and get my old computer back and a refund to my credit account. I will go buy a computer somewhere and I'll probably pay a little more for it but...I'll buy it from someone whom I have been assured will who will still speak to me by phone or in person after I've paid for my product. I dropped my iPhone 12 off after a part had been ordered for it. The tech repairing the phone overheated the phone, which caused him to have to replace the entire screen when the repair was only for the front facing camera. After doing their service checks they were unable to get the phone out of "diagnostic mode". The phone was dropped off at 10 am on a Thursday and I was told it would be 3-4 hours. I NEVER received a call. I showed up after 6 o'clock in the evening to inquire about the phone (because you CANNOT call the store directly and the national number they send you to only sees what you can see on the website, so that was a complete waste of time!), I was told about the diagnostic issue and told that it would be at least an hour and to come back in the morning that it should be ready. The following day, Friday, I never received a call. Sent my daughter to go and check on the phone at 4:30, they said it was stuck in diagnostic mode and they were trying to get it out. I went down to the store at this point. No one had looked at my phone all day, no one had tried to complete the repair. No one had tried to contact Apple Support all day, and no one had called me. The website showed that they listed my phone as being repaired, completed and picked up Thursday night at 6:20. And of course the manager of the geek squad was unavailable to speak with. Since they closed out the repair ticket there is no record of them having my phone any longer, and there is no record if anyone is working on the phone or not. The store manager insisted he would have her call me on Saturday morning, since the phone had still not been fixed and another phone had not been ordered in more than 34 hours. The Geek Squad manager refused to call me and had someone else call me today, Saturday at nearly 1pm. At this point they have still not ordered my phone, which means no one had done anything with my phone at this point today either. I am told that overnighting it to the store it will likely be Tuesday or Wednesday of next week because today is Saturday and its after noon! I WILL NEVER take anything here to be worked on and if you are reading this, you shouldn't either! My reason for pointing this out was that both BB Reps were helpful and gave invaluable assistance in narrowing down the options - this is an important component that you can't always get from an online purchase. I recently purchased a Samsung Smart Watch for my spouse's Birthday early Sept-2019. The Smart watch stopped working 3wks in. We returned to Best Buy, only to be told there was nothing they could do; their Return Policy is 14 days and that we have to contact Samsung, despite the item being brand new. There was no forewarning of this policy & nothing displayed in writing in the store. We spoke w/a sales person, then a Manager. Their 'don't care' attitude was snorky and arrogant. As if they were saying, "we have our sale, we have your money, 'NOT our Problem', now leave us alone." How sad of you, Best Buy, to operate like this. With large retail stores struggling to survive, it doesn't help that your staff is poorly trained, insensitive, and following internal policies that your customers are unaware of. Now the problem is ours to rectify thru Samsung! Know that I will share my experience on every social media outlet & warn others, as the most popular shopping season ever is soon upon us...
