Meh. I've been to this Best Buy before and I'm sure I'll go again. I feel like the people working there weren't busy enough or who knows what but every 3 minutes one would come up to us asking if we needed help. I'm the type that will ask for help if wanted, this was just too much. We had two people helping us with cameras and both asked what we were talking pictures of. I don't want to tell some random stranger why I want a camera and I don't think it's any of their business!! Like sure, I get some cameras are better for scenery stuff and some better for people, but I can do my own research on that! I told the second person helping us that we were using the camera for "some in the bedroom stuff" to try to get her to stop asking us! I'm giving three stars because the girl did help us find the camera we wanted and most stores didn't have it. Plus, I'm too impatient to wait for it to be shipped. She also didn't hassle us about signing up for a stupid Best Buy CC. read more

The worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life. It took me 30 minutes to find somebody who could help me purchase a stereo for my car. Once someone finally decided to help me they completely lied to me and told me it would cost $40 instead of the actual $140. I will never shop at any Best Buy again. Amazon has been great for me so far, but I thought I would give Best Buy another try. From here on out I am sticking to online shopping when it comes to electronics. read more

I purchased an item here at the Orem Best Buy, a store I've purchased from many times before. When asked if I wanted the warranty I agreed to it, it sounded great to know that if anything were to go wrong with my product Best Buy would replace it. Much to my surprise, when I got home and plugged the item in there was a crack in the screen...inconvenient yes, but not a huge deal because I got the warranty. I returned to the same location as quickly as I could repackage the product. When I got there I explained to the customer service representative what had happened and he said something to the effect of 'let me take it to the back room and check it out so I can determine what happened.' At this point I'm thinking, I took it out of the package and plugged it in that is what happened! After a fair amount of time the manager came out and in no shortage of words told me that I had dropped the item and that it wasn't covered, and that they wouldn't replace it. Obviously frustrated I reiterated to the manager that this was the way it came out of the box and he said that I was lying. It's worth mentioning that this year I've purchased thousands or dollars of various electronics and equipment, and that this item was less than 300 dollars...and my integrity is worth far more than that! Long story short, the manager passed me off to another employee who was even more rude stating that my attempt to have them replace the item was an attempt to make him lose his job. When I felt I had been disrespected enough I took my phone from my pocket and began to tape the employee-I asked him to explain for the camera why I was being denied the exchange and he said if you're going to film me I'm not going to say anything else. The only words he spoke after that were "if you keep filming I'm going to call the police" and "you signed the agreement so it's on you" I will try again through other avenues to have this matter resolved, but I will not shop at Best Buy of Orem again. Rude beyond belief, and unwilling to honor their side of the warranty. BEWARE shopping here, you just might be the next yelper writing a 1 star review wishing that there was a way to give them negative stars. read more

This Best Buy had me very excited. I went there in order to buy a Christmas Gift. And I was not disappointed by the quality of the product and the ease of purchase. If I had to have one criticism, I would say that I asked several questions that the attendant I was asking them to simply did not know. I have never in 55 + years of being a consumer felt compelled to give a negative review. I just had my worst consumer experience, bar none! Looking at the reviews for this store. My experience was exactly the same as Tyson N. I could have copied his review and pasted it for my review. I was looking to buy a Nintendo 30S XL Galaxy Style for my granddaughter. I had both of my grandkids with me. When I noticed that the recharging adapter didn't come with the system. I asked the sales associate why the recharger wasn't included. His response was you will have to bring that up with Nintendo, I just sell them. I said that I would not purchase this without a recharging cord. That would be equivalent to buying a car without an engine. I asked to see the manager and was brought to one. I expressed my complaint and was dismissed quicker by the manager than the sales associate. Nintendo was again the problem and they were Best Buy. I didn't curse, raise my voice or threaten anyone. My position to the manager was that Best Buy has chosen to put Nintendo products on their shelves. I am buying Best Buy when I am there. That they need to be my advocate back to Nintendo, that this practice is wrong. Again, I was told by the manager that this is a Nintendo problem. My response back to him was, this is why brick and mortar stores or going out business and I hoped this one quickly follows. I was leaving the store when I realized that my nephew was still shopping. I went to get him and told him not to purchase a $600 camera that he was looking at. My nephew was with a sales associate when the manager came over and told the associate that I was extremely disrespectful and proceeded to get on his collar mike and told them to run video and call the police. I at no time was asked to leave the store. I left the store immediately. To regional managers of Best Buy. I also ask you to look at the video and contact me. This store appears to have a pervasive problem starting with this manager that needs to be addressed! read more

I would give less than one star if possible. They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Our microwave gave out and so I purchased a new one (not from Best Buy because I had been warned by a friend that their customer service was bad) but when it came to disposal of the old microwave there are not many other options. Wanting to do the responsible thing I researched the Best Buy website to see if they took microwaves. It said they did but to contact the local store to make sure. I called the local number listed for the Orem Best Buy store and finally, after going through their ridiculous phone system and being on hold for five minutes, was able to talk to a live person. I asked if they took microwaves in store and was told yes. So I loaded my microwave up and drove to the store, unloaded it and pushed it into the store only to be stopped by the greeter and told that they didn't take microwaves. I tried to explain that I had just called the store and was told they did, but he basically told me I was lying. Two other employees approached us and told me that I couldn't have called the store an been told they took microwaves and that I was lying. Livid I turned around and stormed out of the store loaded my microwave back into the car and drove home steaming. Anyone knows that the first rule of customer service is that the customer is always right even if they are wrong. My whole experience would have been very different if I anyone of them had simply apologized for being misinformed by a store employee even if I could not leave the microwave. Take my advice and shop somewhere else where customers are treated respectfully. read more

The Best Buy in Orem sucks when it comes to customer service. After being told by an employee that the Assassin's Creed 3 would have a midnight release, I went to the store to get it. I arrived at 11:50 and waited in front of the store for 45 minutes before being acknowledged by one of the 10-12 employees inside. They would look and I and the other guys there would wave at them, trying to get their attention, but it still took them 45 minutes to even come over to us and ask us if we needed something. We even went into the first doors by just prying them open in order to get their attention but it didn't work. Turns out that they weren't doing a midnight release which would have been totally fine if they had told me before I had waited for 45 minutes!!! But they didn't!!! read more

They may have awesome prices but their lack of customer service makes that irrelevant. I bought three DVD box sets and when I was walking out the door, the alarm went off. When they stopped me they didn't want to look in my bag, they wanted to look in my purse too. I let them because I had nothing to hide but I also told them what I thought of being accused of stealing. I returned the DVDs and have never been back. Accusing your customers of stealing is really great way to ensure they won't return. read more

Called Best Buy to find out the availability of a Bluetooth transmitter. Was on hold the 20 minutes it took me to drive there. When I walked in the door, I showed the "manager" my call timer, which was around 21:47. He commented that it was unusual to be on hold that long. I told him there were two people ahead of me, according to the computer. He just shrugged. They also didn't have what I needed, offered to order one for me, and I flat out said I won't be coming in anymore. Best Buy? What a joke. read more

I purchase a 65 inch Vizio TV on Jan 13. A few days later i was called by Geek Squad to schedule delivery and installation. The earliest they could get to me was 1/30, which is today. I paid extra for Geek Squad services because of the distance from my home to store. I got a confirmation on appointment by text and email on 29th. Were supposed to be there between 12 and 4 . I called Geek Squad support when they didnt arrive at 12 to find out what time they would be coming. Was on hold for 30 minutes while they tried to contact the store in Canton Ga. when they got the manager on the phone I was told they couldnt get to my installation until 2/14, a full month after i bought the TV and all the Gek squad services to go with it 5 yr protection plan and something called Core. This is absolutly the worst customer service i have ever had. After talking to manager i called Customer service again and was told i would have to work it out with the store. I am at their mercy but tis will be my last purchase from Best Buy. I hate being lied to read more
