If it were possible to give a negative number, I would. My major complaint is with lack of the Best Buy branded Citi Card. I made a major purchase and while in that process was encouraged by the store clerk--and his manager--to open a Citi card, make the purchase, get a discount and could pay it off that month. It seemed like a good deal. However, Best Buy would not honor the agreed on delivery date, making the purchase too late for my need; therefore, I had to cancel it. I went to the store, gave the department manager the receipt and told them everything had to be canceled. The Geek Squad membership was not canceled although everything else on the receipt was. I spent over 4 months trying to sort that out, phone calls, letters, all to no avail. Best Buy would not help and Citibank would not respond. Consequently my credit rating dropped a lot. I had to track down the CCO of Best Buy, write a letter which I registered with signature, and it still took him weeks to assign the case to someone. She could not resolve it because it was the bank that needed to correct the record. I ended up paying the remaining balance because the declining credit rating would cost me more than the balance. I went in there today and requested help for a new router and clearly stated that it has to be compatible with Xfinity ... The technician sold me a router that is not designed for coaxial cable. Horrible service and now I have another errand to return the device back to the vender. Thank goodness a new cable and adapter brought my internet back as I work from home. read more

I bought a new laptop from BB and after a couple months, many of the keys on the keypad started fading to the point of barely being recognizable. I brought it to the Geek Squad to ask what could be done where there was 1 person ahead of me and no one else around, first thing in the morning. While he was working with the other person, he told me my PC would have to be sent to the manufacturer and would take at least 3 weeks to get back. Before handing it over, I wanted to encrypt some files on my desktop and he said he would help me as soon as he was done with the other gentleman. I've encryped files before but it had been a while and I couldnt remember how but I knew it would only take a quick minute, I waited about 15 minutes when another geek squad person came out, I told him what I was doing, and he said I needed an appt and would be at least 3 hours! the other tech guy was right there and didnt say a word to help me or that he never said I needed to get an appt , that he would only need a minute to show me how to encrypt so I could get the PC sent off etc.! Nothing! Meanwhile the board showed the next "scheduled " person was an hour later! I just walked out, flabergasted at the situation and that's how they were handling it. read more

Spoke to Emily the store manager.I was 2 days over the 14 day return policy.She opened a ring battery box , sealed claiming that she had to confirm battery was in the sealed box .Then she tells me ok but it's 2 days past 14 days so I can't return it. The store is like a ghost town no one working ..... I'm very upset because I bought the wrong battery and I'm out 38.00.I asked for a store credit ??? Another very bad experience: I bought a car stereo on-line and set the pickup for this store in Danvers. It was supposed to come with free installation but it would be at the Everett store. When I got there to pick it up, I asked if they could set up a time for an installation at the other store. The employee said "it's a bit complicated." Apparently, I had to buy it at that store and then I'd set up the appointment. I decided I didn't want to deal with anything "complicated" and said I wanted to cancel the sale. I was told that they couldn't do it then since they had to wait for the transaction to clear. So the suggestion was I bring back the item to the Danvers store, they'd cancel the sale and then I could re-order it from Everett. So I have to take time and come back to the Danvers store. That's very inconvenient. I'm still thinking of canceling it outright unless there's a satisfactory resolution. If I'm spending over $300, I think I deserve better service. read more

Worst run around ever! Called customer service no one can answer question on where my item is. Try to get a credit because credit card was charged and I have no product . I am fuming. Order placed thru their tel 978-774-9494 on July 10 for curbside in Danvers went to pick up item Thursday night Rep at store told me they don't have it. Called tel line again from Thurs to now Monday. Transferred multiple times, Line conveniently got disconnected , was to be transferred to store but after hours so no one there, can't reach same person . You can't reach store or anyone that can find the answer. It took me 5 days and probably 6 hours and can't tell you how many people I spoke to and transferred to get a supervisor who never actually got on the phone. For a mere 32.00, their screw up and the fight I had to go thru to get this credit. I am done with Best Buy. Been a customer for probably 20+ years. No more! If there were a negative-star rating, Best Buy would have earned it. I will never shop at a Best Buy for any reason ever again. Unlike its top competitors (e.g., Target, Walmart, Amazon, Costco) who have "best-in-class return policies" (see https://money.usnews.com/money/personal-finance/spending/articles/stores-with-the-best-return-policies-and-worst-return-policies), Best Buy allows only 15 days for a return - and they make no exceptions or compromises. Instead, they prey on consumers' desperation to return an item to extort $50 for a Best Buy membership as a condition for accepting a return after 15 days. The 15-day return policy is not posted reasonably for consumers to see, and most consumers would reasonably expect a big-box store like Best Buy to have a return policy comparable to its competitors - but it does not! The managers couldn't care less, and there is no simple escalation process beyond reporting this unfair and deceptive act or practice to the Better Business Bureau, state Attorney General, and Federal Trade Commission. The manager at this particular location, Isabel, is tanking Best Buy's business. She refused to return a $37 item, and despite protest, she preferred to send a customer away from the store angry after the customer warned that failure to return the item would result in the customer filing numerous complaints against Best Buy with different regulatory authorities which will cost Best Buy time and money to respond to, sacrifice thousands of dollars in future purchases for the business, and proliferate negative word of mouth. Despite having the discretion and authority to correct the situation, Isabel conveyed no interest in customer satisfaction and only attempt to extort a $50 membership fee. I cannot believe Best Buy employed (continues to employ?) this individual. I am now eagerly awaiting Best Buy's imminent store closures and inevitable bankruptcy. Just had a very unexpected (in a good way) trip to the Best Buy in Danvers. We needed to exchange a large TV that we thought was in stock but turned out to be out of stock, and instead of simply processing a return and leaving us to figure out the rest, one of their TV experts did the research and comparison for us and helped to make sure we left happy and NOT empty handed. We are buying this TV as a gift, so their assistance not only helped us but also helped to make the day better for the gift recipient. Thank you to the very nice people working at this store. I remember going into Best Buy almost 20 years ago and buying a 55" tv. The place was packed and mostly everyone was happy. In 2024, to say that Best Buy is a shell of it's former business, is a huge understatement. There are usually 15 customers at most in the store. The items people actually want are never available. The employees don't even know what an android box is! They no longer give bags at checkout anymore. I boycott any store that pulls that garbage........it seems a lot of people are doing the same.......just see how empty 90% of stop n shop's parking lots have become (across Massachusetts) since ceasing plastic bags. read more

I was unable to utilize my 1 year of total tech support due to the shutdown because of the Covid 19 virus. Anyway, I payed $199.99 for 1 year and it was well worth it considering I got an entire Stereo system installed in my car, and I also purchased everything to put a similar system in my daughters car and they installed that too. The only problem was I had to travel to Everett, Ma. because the fella in the installation department negated his employment at my local Best Buy in Danvers and they had no back up to put in his place. He had an assistant but he didn't have enough knowledge to take over the lead position. They also installed a second pair of speakers in my car due to the first pair having one go bad for some reason. I luckily purchased them from Crutchfield even though a few months had passed, they sent me a whole new pair and instructed me to replace both of them due to equal break in period, and return the used and defective pair! The only issue with Best Buy this time was that I was charged initially and then had to explain to the manager how I tried to get it done before my year was up and was told by Danvers to contact one of two other Best Buy's in my area but an extra 20 minute drive to each from my home, when the shut down was lifted. After explaining the situation to the Best Buy manager on the phone, he told me to return a week later when he would be working and he would reimburse me as long as I had the receipt. I did and I was refunded. Oh and I also brought my daughters laptop in thst was inoperative and they makeyhSo as far as I'm concerned I hit my money's worth and then some!!! read more

Suggest you don't buy any electronics from this store. I have purchased over $3000 electronics from this store in the past year. One of those purchases, a laptop, had a serious issue (battery expanded and separated the case) just a few weeks after purchase. Brought it to the store and they told me battery problems are a "gray" area and they had to check with the store manager. After waiting for 1hr I was told that I needed to call the manufacturer as they would not help. Manufacturer handled the issue with no problem and had me mail the unit back. Would have saved myself time had I simply purchased from Amazon. In summary, the manager at this store made a discretionary decision to not provide simple customer support. I so doing, I have decided never purchase electronics from this store again. read more

When I checked in at this location, Yelp gave me a 10% off accessories coupon which the staff would not honor on a $15 iPhone cover I wanted to purchase. Poor customer service. I came in over a month ago to look at GPS units and there were none on display. The clerk said they were resetting the area. I went back this past Friday and the GPS area looked the same. After waiting in the area for 15 minutes I went to customer service and had someone paged to the area. This person again apologized and said they we resetting. I said it looks the save as a month ago when you were resetting. I had to get on the floor to read about the units, when I asked the prices he looked them up online rather than open the case for us to look at. I ordered 3 appliances and on delivery day last Saturday I was told the 3 party delivery company couldn't get to my house because the truck was too big. ( I had put in comments to use a smaller truck because I have a narrow street on a hill.) I was promised they'd use a small truck and rescheduled for today. Today they arrive with 1 appliance. I've waited on hold 1 hour. I went on site and rescheduled the washer/dryer for next week. Then I see the stove is no longer in the website. How happened to the one I had last week. I came in here a few times to browse, and about three times to check out a computer I wanted. Tom was extremely helpful, and very nice. I found there was an open box model of the laptop I wanted ($117 cheaper) which I was so excited for, and I came in to purchase the next day. Tom was busy but another guy helped my purchase. He was nice but kind of pushy with add-ons, however I don't blame him. I blame corporate for that attitude, working for retail I know the pressure corporate puts on it's employees to upsell. Of course if I knew nothing about computers it would be helpful, however I do, and I knew what I wanted and that's all I wanted. The store is spacious and has a ton of variety. A little overpriced. I always try Craigslist before giving my money to a big business, unless I can't trust the quality of the merchandise. read more

This review relates to Best Buy as an AppleCare service center. They Are Not. Save your money, aggravation, and time and just go to UPS. I brought an ipad in to Best Buy on an appt made through AppleCare and was told by a very officious woman, Pam C., that they do not repair and would only mail it in to Apple. Then she informed me that they wouldn't mail the refurbished ipad to my home and I had to return to the store to pick it up whenever that happens. I used to like Geek Squad but they were not helpful, not friendly, and the claim to be an AppleCare Service center is false. They are a mailbox. read more

Strike 1 is you cannot call the store directly. You get routed to a central customer service center where most often English is not the agent's native language. Strike 2 is Best Buy's website will falsely lead you to believe they can repair your electronic devices. Strike 3 is that I made 2 separate Geek Squad appointments neither of which resulted in a repair. The website said they could fix a Samsung tablet but at the store I was told they don't provide Samsung repair work. In round 2, I booked an appointment to replace an iPhone battery only to be told they don't carry that battery in stock. Needless to say, I won't be giving Best Buy any of my future business. read more

This would be such a nice job, except for the customers! Things always break on a weekend, right? I needed a new home-based business machine right away. I try to shop local. The Staples website product search function doesn't handle multiple variables well ("wireless color laser desktop copier-printer"). I started calling around to replace my now-dead ancient color multifunction machine, after 5 pm on a Sunday, trying to eat dinner in spurts on hold. Phoning humans was a mistake. Two understaffed local Staples stores apparently couldn't assign anyone for 5 solid minutes to complete my requested home office color copier-printer sale, so they had fairly uninformed checkout people, a "tech," and even a manager put me on hold multiple times, and they finally blew me off, the first store saying there were "long lines"--probably lines of milling virtual-schooled college students with nowhere to go on a Sunday night in a partial lockdown. Nice Staples employees, probably. But no one was very interested in completing my not-so-small sale. Onward. No one picked up the phone in Printers/Copiers at Best Buy, Danvers. It's understaffed, too. Moments later, I ordered and paid for exactly what I had asked Staples for, but at Best Buy online, for $349.99, with free shipping, allegedly well before closing time on a Sunday. It's 6:22 pm now, and the sale and my dinner are all finished. Bravo, Best Buy website! read more

Bought a apple MacBook in cash. I returned it the next day because it wasn't the right one, the only way they can refund me is by a check in the mail because they don't carry $1000 in store which is bullsh*t they make a ton of money everyday . They told me 5-7 days I'll receive the check, it's been 4 weeks and still nothing!! I called and I've been on hold for over an hour and they keep transferring me to different departments. 15 Day Return Policy with no refund @20 days with a receipt? Bestbuy apparently has adopted Crazy Eddy final sale policy but they don't tell you that when you check out. I received an expensive ipod and audio headset as a bday gift from my husband 20 days ago. I wanted to exchange it and went to Bestbuy with a receipt and all original packaging 20 days from original date of purchase. Package was opened so guess what? Beyond 15 days, you opened it, you own it. No credit, nothing, no exchange. $350 on a receipt 20 days ago and I'm SOL? I would have gladly spent the $350 in my exchange for a different model. Oh god how I love to hate big corporations but I just can't hate Best Buy... so far not anywhere but definitely not at the Danvers location. My love affair with Best Buy (Danvers) began like 4-5 years ago when a young man/kid working in the computer department told me, over the phone, that he'd wait even past the time he got off in order to meet me and help pick out the right computer package. He seemed so knowledgeable over the phone but I couldn't get there any earlier, and when he offered to stay past his required hours, I, being in a service-oriented, family-business for many years, was super impressed. This "kids" name was Ryan and every time I went back, I made a beeline straight to this guy and, often, wouldn't even make a move without talking to him first... until he was made like manager of the Medfield store. He deserved it. Best Buy reviews, in my opinion, aren't really about the parking lots and bathrooms, etc.... for me, they're about how comfortable they make me feel when I'm going to make a big ticket purchase so let me list the big ticket purchases I've made at the Danvers Best Buy: 1. Two mid-range computer packages totalilng around $2k-$3k; 2. 50" Plasma Widescreen TV w/built in Tivo style hard drive $999 incl $400 for a 4yr warranty; 3. Apple Iphone plus all the accessories that could be bought - $500-$750; plus about $120/mo for service 4. MyBook Hard Drive plus laptop accessories $250-$300; 5. 3 Air Conditioners about $200-$250 apiece; 6. 60g, 15hr, 60x zoom Sony Camcorder $399, w/tri and mono pod $87 You gettin' the point? Their staff is VERY friendly and VERY helpful. Sometimes they get a bit busy but I don't mind doing a little more looking over things while waiting. If it's urgent, I can usually find someone in a different dept to help me with some general questions before I need the expert. Every time I've wanted to buy something, I've been able to pick the brains of the employees and they've never flinched. My nephew did have ONE bad experience where a kid sent him home with the wrong monitors but, for our inconvenience, the manager gave us $50 off the right one when we came back to make the exchange. Some people don't like warranties. I always get them but I've never done the math. Nothing's ever broken so I've technically gambled and loss but, to me, I realize such insurance is a game and I play it willingly and accept the outcome. They're a blessing when something does break. I also like Best Buy because they're always having interesting sales. And they have a massive inventory of cool stuff for all part of the home -- tvs, fridges, microwaves, gps, cameras, camcorders, washers/dryers, etc. And, most importantly to me, they keep track of my Best Buy Rewards and issue me gift certificate/coupons after a while and they also have all my warranty info on file in case I lose the papers. All in all, I really, really like Best Buy and do ALL my electronic shopping there... specially since they'll price match anyone, too. Go check 'em out... think of something you've been really wanting and then go pick one of their salesperson's brains... bet you'll end up buyin' it! read more

Excellant Customer Service here. The BF and I were on a mission to purchase a steam cleaner for our rugs. The associate in the rug cleaning isle was very nice, recommended a perfect machine for us, and carried it up to the register. While in line ( it was very crowed) their was a nice lady asking if we found everything ok. I asked if they had any Nintendo Wii as the last time we were there they were out. They had them, she went and found it for us, and by the timeit was our turn to pay brought not only the wii up but also a bunch of accessories for us to choose from ( like an extra controller, would've been bummed if we got all the way home and only had one controller. Worst customer service in the industry. Paid to have installation of TV at elderly parents home. Installed in wrong place now they can't even see the TV without having to move their furniture. When I spoke to the management they told me the installer said that's where my mother wanted it. Makes sense to me. I'm out $200 now I have to pay another company to have the TV put in the spot where it was supposed to go in the first place. That's the kind of customer service you get at Best Buy. Understaffed, false representation of goods, and generally poor service make this Best Buy a terrible place to shop. I came in here to buy a TV and immediately proceeded to Magnolia Hi-Fi. The salesman (Sonny) tried to lie his way to sales by stating that ALL Sony TVs are Edge LED backlit and that only LG carries a full-array LED backlight. He then proceeded to tout that "Energy" was Klipsch's new high-end brand (which is also not true). When we looked on the website and found that what he had told us was not true, he blamed his inconsistencies on a Sony representative. We then went to buy a Playstation 3. We were helped by "Skip." Skip then disappeared. We ended up having to ask a person in the camera department to find a PS3 for us and it took him ten minutes to come back with one. There were less than ten customers in the store on this Friday afternoon so I know that he was not busy. This Best Buy has the worst employees I have seen. 1-star for the Magnolia salesman. read more

This company is a joke. They care nothing about customer service. My son purchased an Echo Show and located it in Danvers, MA. It is close to me so I picked it up for him and used my credit card. My son decided he didn't want it so I returned it to the Danvers store. They refused to credit my credit card because it needed to be returned within 15 days. Apparently when you purchase something on their website you only have 15 days to return an item. Since I didn't place the order I didn't know. As it turns out I was four days over. They absolutely refused to credit my card. Nothing was opened. I couldn't believe they wouldn't make a one-time accommodation for four days. Costco would never do that. They are the best when it comes to customer service. BB should take a lesson from them. I will never step in their store again. read more
