My fiancé got me a cooking class here as one of my Christmas gifts and it was such a fun date…read morenight! There were only eight people in the class and we were separated into two tables of four, so we did everything with another couple. A pro of this is that you don't have to do ALL the work - you can split tasks among people in your group and have time to watch/listen/learn/enjoy. However, that may be a con for people who want to do every step of the recipe themselves. A con to this could also come if you get paired up with people who are taking it seriously when you want to have fun or vice versa. Luckily the couple we were paired with were cool and liked to have fun and joke around, just as we did. Our chef/instructor was Rebecca and she was the best part of the class! She was very knowledgeable, engaging, and made us laugh a lot. She will even photobomb your pictures (she did warn us at the beginning haha) - photo evidence included! A big con for us is that they do not serve alcohol during cooking classes. However, you are technically allowed to bring in your own if it is not in the obvious wine/alcohol bottle. We brought wine in Yeti tumblers and they did not mind at all. However, it felt kind of odd because the other people were not drinking. In cooking classes we've done t other places, wine and beer was served throughout the entire class and just about everyone was taking part. Still, it's nice that you can enjoy some wine if you know this beforehand and remember to bring your own. The food was incredible!!! We made salads and lobster ravioli. It was my first time making any type of homemade pasta and now I'm set on getting the pasta making attachment on my Kitchen Aid mixer! The portions were not the biggest and there was no dessert (I have a HUGE sweet tooth so this was a disappointment for me). Still, all in all it was a fun experience. We will not be rushing back, but we're open to trying it again.

Even the cannolis were already made. All we did was pipe the mixture into them. We couldn't even bring our own wine in to drink. So basically you just mix ingredients and eat it with nothing to drink. I would not waste your money.

About the norm. If…read moreyou've ever been to a Michaels before, or better yet if you've ever been to multiple Michaels before, you'll find that they're all about the same. On the positive side, they have a great framing department, and everything you can think of when it comes to crafting and DIY hobbying. They also have a lot of fun and different baking items and molds to work with for holidays or parties. On the downside though, understaffed. Almost always. Even at their busiest times, which is usually the Christmas holiday season, always understaffed. At times, I've waited in line for up to 25 to 30 minutes to check out. You have a store full of people, you have six to eight registers, and you have two registers open with a line of 20 people deep. Would I go back? Yes, I would. And I will go back. Michael's is its own thing. I'm not saying there aren't other craft or hobby stores like it, but Michael's has what I need. Unfortunately though, I dread having to go there. At least during times when I know it's going to be busy. Here's a tip: If you're going to go to Michaels, make it during a weekday or non-peak time like a weekend or during the holiday season.

Tried to call…read morebefore driving down to Cinci to see if it was still available and to confirm that the store would be open. Went straight to voicemail several times over the course of 2 hours so I left a voicemail asking to call back. Also tried emailing, but the email bounced back due to being an invalid email address so then I emailed through the website. Still no answer, a day later. Also tried visiting the Facebook webpage listed on the website, but it too was an invalid link. I was able to add the dresser to my shopping cart online and there was a little message that popped up at the top recommending to call about the item, but it seemed like I could've followed through with paying for it if I really wanted to. At this point I questioned if this place was still in business and wasn't about to send my money to nowhere. I ended up driving down to Cinci for another item on the other side of town from this place and decided to just stop by since I was going to be down here anyway. Store was open. The 3 guys there were friendly and welcoming, but they informed us the item had already sold. So it still wasted about an hour of my time adding this stop to my trip. I'm sure they are pleasant to work with and they probably pride themselves with finding nice antiques, but I'm frustrated by the many failed attempts to contact them via multiple avenues and the wildly outdated website.

Mike…read moreWills patiently guided me down that path, answering my questions as to what coins were available, pre-1933 vs modern US bullion, gold spot pricing, how premiums work, etc. He let me take my time browsing through the store's available stock of 1/4 oz American Gold Eagles until I found the right one. All throughout the process, he was as friendly as he was knowledgeable. It felt less like a customer & store owner discussing coin purchase options and more like two friends chatting about coins in general. All the above says a lot because I've been exploring this purchase option back in my home state (California), and it never went through because I've never found one store where it's employee was willing to go through this process of helping me feel like had made the right choice. It was Mike all the way here in Ohio that made it happen. Glad I was passing through. Thanks again, Mike! You've got a great business there! I'll make it a point to stop by when I'm in the area again!
