We were looking for exterior paint and the employee walked over and showed us the types of paint they had and was very informative. The prices were a little more than the big box stores but it is family owned, local, and has everything we needed for home repairs/upgrades. They have two locations, Canton and West Hartford. They offer paint recycling. If they don't have the product in stock, they will order it for you since they are affiliated with the Ace Hardware warehouse; the warehouse carries over 80,000 items. They offer many services in-house such as key cutting and propane fills. When you join the Ace Rewards, you can earn rewards with every purchase. Overall, a great asset for the community.

No rock salt/ice melt around EXCEPT this very thoughtful place had an employee pick up 3 pallets from their other location (not close.) I stopped counting at 65 people in line (not including the 12+ people who bought plain rock salt.) Employees were very hard working, courteous and I cannot say enough about this place. We like the enlargement of their stock in recent years, the ease of access in this clean, well-organized store, and the helpfulness of the folks who work here. We think the store is more customer-oriented than ever, and we are especially happy with their rental section from whom we have rented everything from equipment to tents. And we continue to like that they offer a nice selection of Litchfield-tagged clothing items (hoodies, sweatshirts, etc.). Parking is better these days, and ... well, like we said, we're happy here. They have the Connecticut 169 books, local products, and really cute little stickers. There are even Litchfield sweatshirts. The employees were very engaged with the customers, and free ones were quick to offer their assistance. (One could call them "helpful hardware folk....) The aisles were clear, and the displays clean and well organized. The parking lot lines are a bit faded so it can be a bit of a free for all, or at least close quarters where the line is clearer one side than the other.

It said they had a certain amount of washers in store in stock for delivery. And they were right on. I was able to save 20% off of the price today by opening their credit card. Capped at $100 discount, even if you purchased a $700 machine. No problem at all. No pre payment penalties. I can pay it off as soon as i receive the first bill. Easy process. Tim only needed my name number and address in back by the appliances. Then he sent me up front to the cashiers to finalize the transaction. This is where they needed all of my info to process the cc app. Easy peasy. Girl up front very nice Extremely simple process. Tim was such a pleasure to work with. This store is in the sticks in the woods not close to much else but it was well worth the drive out here to find in stock appliances.

Buy a laptop somewhere else, very unfortunate interaction with the owner at this place…read more - Peeled off a sticker from my laptop brought in for a consult without permission. - Bought a refurbished machine from him, installed a different internet browser other than google chrome and the machine flipped out. - Brought back to tech to fix, tech said he fixed it, charged me, then bring it home find out it's not fixed. (Charge was refunded thankfully). - Brought in the next day to owner who spent the entire time talking over me, getting louder and louder at me intimidating me into believing that it was my fault for changing a single thing on the computer that must have messed it up. I had to tell him multiple times that I was not there to argue and that I needed the machine he sold me two days ago to be fixed, replaced, or refunded. - Only reason no 1 star is he replaced the machine with an identical one. -Then he called me "a very paranoid individual" when I asked for a receipt for the machine trade. Being a young woman and a nursing student I've dealt with my fair share of intimidating narcissists but that's not really how you run a successful business. It would have been better if he had listened to me and what the problem was without immediately jumping to "this is all your fault for changing a single thing on the machine I sold you." If you're going to buy a new laptop, just go somewhere else.
