My favorite shopping is for holidays. They're one of the few stores to have classic leaf pumpkin bags for Halloween. You can drive around the building behind the old Arrow pharmacy (I think it's a liquor store now) or if you're coming down route 4, make the hazardous left from the main road. There is plenty of parking when you do get into the lot though.

Painting, lawn and garden, hardware, tools, grills and barbecue, electrical, and plumbing supplies are all very well represented on their shelves. Parking is never an issue at Ace because it's located in the very spacious Canton Village Plaza. So, if you ever need a can of spray paint, garden hose, specialty light bulbs, barbecue sauce or wood chips for your smoker, you'll definitely find it at Ace. Like the old jingle said, "Ace is the Place".

Asked the male employee to complete the return section of their form, and to provide me with a receipt/documentation of the equipment's return. Employee flat-out refused to do either. Somehow it is OK to document the rental equipment leaving the store, but not its return. I did not expect to be in negotiations with this employee for such a simple request. At one point still without a receipt being provided, the employee stated to please leave the store, never come back to this store again, never buy anything here again. Know what, I will take that advice and never return to this store again. Lost Customer! Buyers beware at this establishment. "Worst in Class" Customer Service!

I bought this lawnmower from them out of desperation since no other store in Connecticut had one available and our old lawnmower died. Reached out recently and spoke with the new manager Darán who was trying to rectify the situation. Since I couldn't go into the store when he would be available (I live 40 minutes away) he referred me to speak to the assistant manager Dillon. Dillon is one of the RUDEST person I've come across with. He needs serious customer service training and etiquette. i won't be shopping there again!

We like the enlargement of their stock in recent years, the ease of access in this clean, well-organized store, and the helpfulness of the folks who work here. We think the store is more customer-oriented than ever, and we are especially happy with their rental section from whom we have rented everything from equipment to tents. And we continue to like that they offer a nice selection of Litchfield-tagged clothing items (hoodies, sweatshirts, etc.). Parking is better these days, and ... well, like we said, we're happy here. I haven't been in Ace since they were a True Value, and frankly much is the same. Tools, pet…read moresupplies, paint, more tools, etc. But there have been some changes - the area by the register is moved, with displays encouraging buy local. They have the Connecticut 169 books, local products, and really cute little stickers. There are even Litchfield sweatshirts. The employees were very engaged with the customers, and free ones were quick to offer their assistance. (One could call them "helpful hardware folk....) The aisles were clear, and the displays clean and well organized. The parking lot lines are a bit faded so it can be a bit of a free for all, or at least close quarters where the line is clearer one side than the other.

This time we ordered online wooden garden boxes to be delivered to our home for convenience sake. Good news: we got the boxes, exactly as ordered, on the day they were promised, and their condition was excellent. We quickly got them unpacked and set up (you can see the results in our photos).
