To her credit she tried to listen and tried to be helpful. But she skills at conducting ultrasound is very questionable and couldn't even find my ovaries. The other 2 OB/GYN within the prior week had no trouble finding ovaries using ultrasound. I would have believed her claims that my ovaries were either too small or nonexistent but luckily I had comparison, so I knew that was incorrect. I expect the doctor treating me to be able to basic ultrasounds, don't think that's too much to ask.

What can I say about Harvest Fertility other than they have become my guardian angels. Being…read morediagnosed with infertility felt like an absolute soul and gut punch, but I found renewed faith in the amazing care team at Harvest Fertility. Dr. Kornafel was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. She is competent, empathetic, compassionate, a strong advocate for her patients, and she tells a pretty hilarious joke. I've always felt safe and comfortable in her care knowing she's the best out there. She is incredibly patient and will listen to you, she takes her time at your appointments and doesn't rush through your questions or concerns. I always felt better knowing I wasn't just a number at someone's facility. She takes her job more seriously than anyone I've ever met and I'm pretty sure she'll tell you herself this is her life day in and day out. She has truly been my guardian angel and I knew we would have a successful pregnancy under her care. I am happy to report I am currently 15 weeks pregnant as I write this. Not only is Dr. Kornafel amazing, but so is her incredible staff. Jane, who is the office manager, is the most kind, organized, and caring individual. She answers every question/concern promptly and has excellent communication with her patients. She was also so accommodating and always made sure my appointments didn't interfere with work. You're not going to get another Jane if you go to a big facility, she goes above and beyond to be available for her patients. I'm guilty of texting her on several Saturday nights and she was always ready with a response and never made me feel badly. Emi, one of the incredible nurses who you'll work with, is also kind, compassionate, and incredibly competent at her job. She and Dr. Kornafel work very well together and they make an excellent team. I remember literally shaking from nerves during my transfer and Emi rubbed my hand and reassured me it was going to go well. A week and a half later, I got the best call of my life from Emi telling me I was pregnant. I will never forget that moment and how I felt her celebrate this moment with me. She also came in on a Saturday so that she could be there at my egg retrieval even though she doesn't typically work at Harvest on Saturdays. I was so appreciative that she would rearrange her schedule to come in on a Saturday for me. Lastly, I don't know the embryologist, Van, very well as she started to be there more just before my transfer. But from the few times I've met her I can say she is warm, personable, and from what Dr. Kornafel has told me, a top notch embryologist with extensive experience in the field. I can't thank the amazing team at Harvest Fertility enough for helping give me the best gift in the whole world. I never doubted them and always knew I was getting my baby one way or another. I look forward to going back for baby number two soon!

Deeply Disappointed with Life IVF - Please Read Before You Choose This Clinic…read more I normally don't write reviews, but after my experience with Life IVF (Arcadia & Irvine locations), I felt it was important to share in hopes of helping others avoid what we went through. We started our IVF journey at the Arcadia location, expecting a full-service clinic. What we quickly found out is that there is no doctor on-site--all procedures, including retrieval and transfer, are done 45+ miles away in Irvine with Dr. Yelian. The only doctor at Arcadia was Dr. Johnson, who only offered brief telephone consultations. During my treatment, I never saw a doctor in person until the day of egg retrieval and embryo transfer. That alone was unsettling. What made it worse was after my egg retrieval, Dr. Yelian mentioned I should look into adenomyosis--which was incredibly disheartening since that was the main reason I was pursuing IVF to begin with. It was clear he hadn't even reviewed my file. I felt like just another number in a system that prioritized volume over care. Following the procedure, I experienced severe pain that required a trip to the ER. Not a single nurse or doctor from Life IVF followed up with me, asked how I was doing, or offered any aftercare guidance. The lack of compassion was astounding. Then, after our first embryo transfer failed, I wasn't even informed by a doctor. Instead, a nurse casually told me the transfer didn't take--without even checking if my husband was present to support me. She offered no next steps, and it took three days of me calling repeatedly to finally get a callback from Dr. Yelian. After everything, I made the decision to transfer my remaining embryos to another clinic. Shockingly, Dr. Yelian tried to scare me during the required phone call by saying other clinics might "put the wrong embryo into you." I was appalled that a doctor would say such a thing--clearly a fear tactic, and highly unprofessional. In the end, we found a new IVF clinic, where we received thoughtful care and attention. We had a successful first transfer and now have a healthy and happy 1-year-old. It's taken me time to write this review as I've been busy with our preemie and adjusting to new motherhood, but I can't stay silent. People deserve to know what they're walking into. If you're considering Life IVF in Arcadia or Irvine, please be cautious. There is zero continuity of care, minimal doctor interaction, and very little compassion shown throughout the process. Your fertility journey is too important to entrust to a clinic that treats patients like numbers on a spreadsheet.

I am writing this review to provide an impartial account of my experience, independent of the…read moreclinical outcome. My wife and I were referred here via Kaiser. While we understood that IVF is a complex process, our experience was defined by a lack of guidance, transactional interactions, and poor communication. Initial Consultations and Onboarding Our journey began with a confident in-person consultation. However, I found it concerning that the doctor did not review our labs or medical history during this meeting. As first-time IVF patients, the terminology and contracts were overwhelming. The "welcome call" intended to explain the paperwork was unhelpful; the staff member was difficult to understand, and the specifics regarding the limitations of our plan were not clearly articulated. Communication and Administrative Hurdles The first major issue occurred after our first round. When our embryo testing came back "inconclusive," we received a brief email and one missed call. When I attempted to return the call five minutes later, I was told I had to schedule a formal doctor's appointment. To speak with someone within 24 hours, an additional fee was required; otherwise, we had to wait 72 hours. After a series of missed connections and scheduling errors on the clinic's part, we finally spoke to a doctor, but received no "next steps" or expert guidance--simply an instruction to return when we were ready. Financial Transparency and "Transactional" Care During the second round, we were blindsided by unexpected charges. We were told mid-appointment that we owed $500 because we had exceeded a set number of visits for the extraction period. This "per-visit" fee was buried in the contract and never verbally highlighted during onboarding. When we filed a complaint, a different doctor acknowledged that communication was a recurring issue with their newer staff. However, the subsequent "clarification" of our contract felt cold. We were explicitly told that the clinic's low-cost business model does not allow for "hand-holding." It was even suggested that other clinics would not take our case or would simply "drain us" of money--a statement we found ironic, as that was exactly how we felt at this facility. Final Assessment The service throughout was strictly transactional. There were no follow-ups, no strategic game plans, and no expert consultations to review why a round failed or how to improve the next. To this day, we have not had a follow-up conversation with the doctor regarding our last round. While some staff members are pleasant, the overarching culture treats patients as numbers on a checklist. If you are looking for a partnership or a medical team that provides professional guidance and empathy, you may want to look elsewhere. Here, the expectation is clear: provide payment, and the clinic will perform the task, but do not expect any support beyond the bare minimum.

At 43 years old, this pregnancy means more to me than I can put into words. Dr. Llarena was extremely thoughtful and precise throughout the entire process. During the embryo transfer process, she also carefully tailored my medications to give my uterus the best possible support for implantation. Thanks to her expertise and personalized care, I was able to create a healthy baby boy embryo, and incredibly, my very first embryo transfer was successful and resulted in implantation. I am now 14 weeks pregnant, and I could not be more thankful. What makes this journey even more meaningful is that three years ago, Dr. Llarena also successfully helped me create a healthy baby girl embryo. I have kept that embryo safely stored, and I hope to come back in about a year, when the timing is right, for another transfer and hopefully continue growing my family. Dr. Llarena is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but she also made me feel that every step of my treatment was carefully considered and individualized. I truly appreciate her dedication, patience, and outstanding medical expertise. I also want to sincerely thank her entire team for all of their support, especially her assistant Kelly, who was always patient and thorough when explaining my medications and treatment instructions. My wife started her pregnancy healthy, but during her second trimester she began experiencing…read moresignificant swelling and rapid weight gain. We raised these concerns during her prenatal care, but Dr. Rose attributed the changes to my wife's diet. At eight months pregnant, my wife's blood pressure suddenly skyrocketed. We went to the ER, where we were told she had preeclampsia and that our baby needed to be delivered that same day. Our son was born a month early by C-section. Thankfully, he is healthy and growing strong. Looking back, I strongly believe the warning signs should have been taken more seriously and investigated further rather than being attributed to diet. The experience left me feeling that my wife and son were put at unnecessary risk. Another major concern with this practice is the lack of continuity of care. My wife was not consistently seen by the same doctor throughout her pregnancy, which made the care feel fragmented and, in our experience, contributed to concerns being overlooked or not followed up on appropriately. This was one of the most frightening experiences our family has ever gone through. I would encourage any expecting mother experiencing sudden swelling, rapid weight gain, high blood pressure, or other concerning changes to advocate strongly for herself and seek immediate medical attention if she feels something is wrong.

During my most recent 90-minute massage, the therapist introduced a treatment that was never explained to me or discussed beforehand. I wasn't asked for my consent until after it had already been used on one side of my body. I later learned it wasn't even part of the massage service I had booked. I left with significant marks on my legs for days afterward--something I absolutely would have declined had I been given the opportunity to make an informed decision beforehand. To their credit, management acknowledged my concerns and confirmed that this technique is not part of the massage service they offer. However, the resolution offered didn't reflect the seriousness of what happened. When I respectfully explained why I didn't feel it was appropriate and asked them to reconsider, I never received another response. Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is how a business handles them. Unfortunately, what began as an issue with informed consent ended with poor follow-through and communication from management. After years of supporting this business, spending hundreds of dollars on services and gift certificates, I expected much better. I hope they take informed consent more seriously and do a better job standing behind their services when they fall short.
