Hmmm, the first time here at this place. I work down the block, anywhoz it was Taco Tuesday and why not lol. Nice place on the inside and my food was really good. I had some chicken tacos and tostones with a root beer. I really wanted to taste the watermelon margarita mad with Red Bull, but I was still at work smh. I was there 1 minute before the opening hours but the worker saw me and walked away. A woman tried the door and I told her it was locked. She ignored me and waved down the worker inside. He let the woman in (she must have been the waitress) and they locked the door on me. It was 30 degrees outside and they simply wouldn't let me wait inside. Before they locked the door on me, I asked, are you guys open? They said no and immediately closed the door behind them. All the lunch signs and ads were placed outside the door as if they were opened. I will not be dining here due to the rude workers and the fact that the hours advertised are not true. This is your quality neighborhood Mexican go-to place that's very reasonably priced. Met up with a friend mid week for dinner. Plenty of spaces to seat. We needed a quick spot to grab a bite to eat before a concert at Barclays. We found Besito, and it was simple and empty. At first I was worried about what we stepped into, but upon ordering everything was so fresh. Even the vegetarian options were on point. The avocado con queso taco was delicious, and the veggie chimichanga actually had vegetables and not onions as a filler. It had all the cheesy deliciousness of Mexican food but felt healthful. Cute corner bar/restaurant in Park Slope. We'd already had lunch nearby and Saturday afternoon felt young so the inviting brunch/happy hour all day sign outside invited me in. I wanted...basically craved a margarita - spicy, to be exact - but that wasn't really an option. I got a spiced margarita with Tajin around the rim of the glass, but a true spicy one with jalapeños wasn't in the cards. A little disappointing, but eh, I survived. This restaurant is right around my aunt's house in Park Slope and I love coming here as it's usually chill during the day and they have both buffet and made-to-order items. We were back for our first post-pandemic visit and were so happy to see this little place survive. The staff is always friendly and accomodating. The food was delicious! The grilled pork chops were tender, juicy and savory. Perfectly seasoned. The yellow rice was nice, and the beans were good too. The fried snapper was superb, as always. The arepas were magnificent. And one of the regular patrons paid our bill--which was an unexpected gift but made the whole experience even more interesting. The booths are gone, but they now also have a sidewalk cafe. I will give this restaurant 2 stars for their drinks and fast service. However, I did not enjoy my food at all. I ordered a cheese burger with a side of guacamole & chips. The cheese burger was so burnt and hard, it was hard for me to bite into. In fact, I was completely unable to bite into it. I then requested to have it made over. The waitress asked me if I wanted it medium rare and I specifically told her no! I did not want it to be pink! Anyway, she made the burger over and it was so rare that the blood was on the plate. Perfectly seasoned and delivered at just the right temperature. It is a small place, but the food packs a punch! It was fun and relaxed, and if you want to have good food and a good conversation, this is an excellent choice. There is a tiny bar, but we didn't drink this time around. Next trip we'll go for tacos and margaritas. I'm tempted to give it the 5-stars now, but want to be reasonable and give it three visits before I commit. When I see 'Diablo' on the menu, whether its chicken or shrimp, I have to try it. Besito's version of Diablo Shrimp is incredible. Heat and spice, but not overwhelming. Nothing about my experience here was any good. I went there on a recent weekend morning before the brunch crowd arrived. I was the ONLY person in the place so, honestly, my meal should have been perfect. I ordered the $12.95 brunch, with an eggs benedict entree and a bloody mary. The eggs were north of soft-boiled, no runny yoke like a poached egg should have. The Canadian bacon was cold. Again, I was the ONLY person here. When squeezed out of Yayo's where the name of their business was taken by the landlord, they began Besito. Came here earlier this week to eat with a friend. I ordered the Diablo Shrimp which was a mistake. I am used to spicy and Southeast Asian cuisine, so I thought this wouldn't be a problem. Boy, was I wrong! The shrimp itself was good, it was just that the sauce it was in permeated everything around it - the onions, the bell papers, and it SOOO spicy. I was crying and my tears were running down my face and my nose was blowing snot LOL! Thankfully the dish came with a side of rice and beans, and that helped A LOT with taking away the spice.
