Dan had done some light work on our commercial AC unit at our Bakery in Chicago, so naturally when…read morewe needed to upgrade to a bigger system, we took a bid from him. Big mistake. The job was totally botched. From undelivered parts which we never got refunded for, to totally botching the furnace install to where we were endangering everyone that worked there because they routed the exhaust wrong. This is even though there was already a designated exhaust pipe! Our furnace is literally exhausting into our bathroom bc they used the bathroom vent exhaust instead of the dedicated one for the furnace! This caused so much damage, that to repair this and get our system running properly will actually cost MORE than the $8k we paid him. This doesn't even cover the refrigerant leaks, gas leaks, mangled filter box, wrong sized drip pans, garbage left at the work site, mold damage from the condensation IN the walls due to the botched furnace install. I could go on and on. All easily found by another technician. His "Speedy 1 year labor warranty"? Useless. They never came out. he won't even refund us the $950 we spent on a duct booster that never came. It's been 6 months. He says he had some health issues in November, but its almost Feb and no dice. In addition to all the money we are spending fixing his and Joe's terrible job, I have to spend money on a lawyer to work on our options. I hope he's insured like he said. Need to recharge your refrigerant/coolant? Dan might be the guy. Need any serious work done? Steer clear. Hell, steer clear even on the basic jobs if you want someone competent and who responsibly stand by their workmanship and treat you with respect. What a nightmare.

As part of a remodel project, I needed makeup air to compensate for walls and ductwork that would be removed. First, they conducted an on-site assessment of the residence and provided a detailed proposal for their services. Months later they were able to quickly assign a crew to do the work before the remodeling began. Multiple, seasoned team members got the job done well under the time estimated. Professional, kind and thorough, the Corcoran team ensured the automated controller and electrical setup with the damper was in working order and even took time to explain how it was implemented, including placement for easy maintenance in the future. No detail was left undone. They were happy to explain the inner workings to me so that I felt comfortable with how it all worked end-to-end. Their team lead also capitalized on an unexpected opportunity to coordinate their efforts with our remodeler, who was also on-site the same day. He made sure he understood how the makeup air system and damper control could work with the new kitchen range hood that would be installed the following month. The sheet metal fabrication fit and finish on the new ductwork shows how much attention to detail the ownership instills in their team. They care about their craft and doing things right the first time. I continue to be a customer of Corcoran because of experiences like this one. I'm never disappointed and am always left with the feeling like the work was done correctly and communicated respectfully. Kudos to Corcoran for making customers for life!

The service technician that arrived started to offer a quote for new cooling AND heating system before even trying to identify the actual problem with my current system. I told him I may consider a quote but would prefer the problem fixed. He advised me that the system needs refrigerant at $189 per pound (10x the regular price available online) and it may take 2-3 pounds even no leak was detected anywhere and also recommended cleaning of ONLY the outside A/C coil. After the service allegedly performed and bill of over $600 there was no improvement in the A/C performance. The problems I have with their service: - The technician did not let me witness adding any refrigerant even he had a scale to measure the amount of refrigerant going in the system. Also left the tank unattended and connected to the system for quite some time telling me that's how it's charging which is not true! That leads me to suspect no refrigerant was added at all since there was zero improvement in the work of the A/C - The evaporator coil (inside the house) was not cleaned or inspected even I informed the technician the A/C was not serviced for some time. After educating myself watching few videos on the topic I discovered the evaporating coil was really dirty and cleaned it myself. That eventually solved the problem and my A/C is working properly now. I called the owner and notified him of the issue. Instead of him taking responsibility, he turned out extremely rude and even tried to intimidate me if I post a review for his company. I already filed a complaint with the BBB and planning to take the issue to small claims court if not adequately resolved.
