The large man who I assume is the bar tender acted as if me being there was bothersome. He was taking bets at one counter while I waited to order a drink and food. He all but rolled his eyes and slumped on over. When he gave me my first drink he let me know there wasnt table service and to keep coming back up for drinks. The food was horrific. The fish had brown parts inside that were indescribable. The chicken tenders appeared to have had freezer burn and attempted to be fried. bad bar food is one thing. So, this place is a total dive, but that is what makes it special. The bartenders always remember us and what we drink. Really diverse crowd. Excellent bar food. Not the cleanest place. You'll get the occasional bar fight. Once in a blue moon, someone gets sprayed with pepper spray, which sucks for everyone. Averages out to a pretty alright place. read more

Berts has the best burgers around. I have had good service, but remember at times they are very busy and you need to make your order clear and fast. They may not immediately acknowledge but they don't forget and you will be served. I have been going there off and on since the late seventies of course at times under different management . Seen it all and for the most part in the afternoon after work a good natured crowd. On the weekends it is a younger crowd Friday and Saturday nights. So that is what you get. I don't get where someone commented that there were all male bartenders. Very far from reality. One of the hardest working people I have observed any where is female. Also I do not get over served. If you are inclined a heated outdoor smoking area and a fun horseshoe pit. So realize it has been around many years and is a good place to stop and have a cold beer and some conversation with someone you may never see again. read more

This place has turned to the worse. The bartenders were not friendly and made me feel stupid when I ordered my drink. In addition, the bartender served his friends before us when they had just walked in and we were clearly in line for way longer. The bartender on the night of June 19th, 2018 was horrible! He humiliated me in front of other patrons sitting at the front of the bar. He kept repeating, "if you don't have enough to pay for the tab, why don't you just use your business card." That is unethical, unprofessional, and disrespectful! Yes, I own my own business, but I set restrictions and budget myself. Who ever was working that night should be let go due to his actions and attitude. I will never come back and will not recommend this bar to my peers/family members. Bartenders at this location need to learn business ethics. Bert's is a fine, old establishment with friendly bartenders and a diverse crowd of fellow patrons. We were astonished when we made our second visit and the bartender, Tonya, remembered our drink order from the time before (which was a few weeks past)! The servers work their hiney's off and do it with a smile. The food is basically bar food but really, really GOOD bar food - the burgers are terrific, I doubt you'll be disappointed if you're a burger fan. I didn't give the place five stars only because we're not smokers and the smoking area smell, although outside, trickles in and is a little on the strong side (the door opening and closing all the time lets a good deal of smoke inside) But hey, it's a bar and that's just the way it is. It certainly doesn't deter us from stopping by every couple of weeks or so. read more

Love this place. It's a dive bar to the fullest extent...stained carpet, uneven bar stools and pull tabs. That being said, the sound system for music, customer service and beer/alcohol selection toon is great! They also have an outdoor horse shoe pit. read more

Classic neighborhood watering hole where everybody knows your name. The pours are deep, the bar keeper is attentive and the patrons are friendly. They have a large outdoor seating area. The decor is nothing special but you will feel like family after spending a couple of hours here. read more

This is the best bar in the neighborhood. Stiff drinks with a fun atmosphere. I enjoy the darts pool table and especially horse shoes.

I feel so much better after they got rid of a mean bartender named Dave. He was a bully & didn't stand for what the Mill Creek community is all about-- inclusiveness, fun, diverse, open, REAL & 21st Century. I like to feel safe, relaxed & want to enjoy my time at a place where my hard-earned money supports the Bert's employees. Now I feel like I can again hang out without any worries that I will be builied by the bartender & his creepy clique. I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses. However, I think that their right to such support goes out the window when they cease to have respect for their patrons. When my friends and I paid a visit to Bert's Tavern in Bothell the Tuesday before Christmas, the staff made a friendly enough first impression. Everyone at the table was talking with the manager, who happened to be our server, and one girl in our party asked whether she would win a free drink for solving the word puzzle that came with her beer. The manager's response was no, she would not, but he might think about it if she showed him her 'boobs'. I immediately pointed out that he was out of line -- and he pointedly ignored me. Later, he returned and "apologized" for not having realized this was a table full of feminists (clearly, one has to be a raging feminist to wish that a perfect stranger not ask that she show him her breasts), and then proceeded to inform us that we had come into Bert's, implying that these sort of comments were simply to be expected there. What year is this again? At what point are we going to stop treating women as objects to be tossed around in conversation? How sad that this individual and his establishment have so little respect for both themselves and for women. To the residents of Bothell, I implore you: do not tolerate this kind of disrespect in our city. Write a letter to Bert's, or drop by and let the manager know that you do not support this kind of behavior. Local businesses are important, and they are just as much a part of the community as anyone; Bert's Tavern seems to have forgotten that. read more

This is a good old fashioned neighborhood BAR. kind of grungy, but great service, and a great crowd. I really enjoy the outdoor seating, they even have a couple heaters out there which makes it nice on one of our sunny cold days around here. I had the chicken tenders, they were pretty darn good and huge portion, I only finished with help from the other 3 people that I was with. As far as dive bars go this is as good as it gets!!! It's highlights include: Juke box. Horse shoe pits out back. Darts. Large deck that is covered when it rains for smoking or just relaxing and enjoying your drink. Live cover band on Saturday nights (usually). Quite the variety of patrons!!! Not the kind of bar that tolerates any bull shit. I've never seen a fight break out here. Drama gets checked at the door! The bartenders remember your drinks after a couple times and who doesn't love that?! Don't think you are getting in if you aren't 21!!! Super chill atmosphere!!!
