I went back and forth in my head on what I would rate this place, or if I would even rate it at all. But I started 2026 with a goal to write 100 reviews and to be honest in what I say, so here it goes. First off, I base my ratings as if they were a percentage. So thinking of it this way- if my husband or I ask each other, "hey do you want to go to Bert's?" There's probably a 60% chance one of us would say yes. To clear up some of the 1-2 star reviews, they have since expanded their parking to the other side of the road which has added about 10 spots. You can also park on the street so I'd say the parking situation is fine. They've had signs on the outside of their door since we've been going for over a year that says the auto-repair (?) business next door will tow your car, so that's been a known thing for a very long time. Okay now to the establishment itself. Bert's actually has one of my favorite decor of any brewery in Idaho and it definitely stands out from your typical mountain-vibes that every other place leans towards. It's definitely chill west-coast vibes, but I think does a good job of not looking like you walked straight into the state that shall not be named. They've got a great merch selection, clean bathrooms, and furniture is well kept up. It is small but cozy, and when you can sit outside their patio area has a nice set up. So why the 3 stars? This place doesn't stand out and have a wow-factor selection of beer for a brewery. Leaning into the west-coast vibes, I think almost all of their beer are under 6 ABV, making them a "this is something I'd sip on at the beach" kind of beers; mainly lagers and pale ales. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it's mainly the same beer every single time, never anything new to try. I know a lot of places that do this (another popular one being Payette) but my husband and I love places like Barbarian and Gem State where there is always something new to try. The point being that if I only go there once a month or so, I might see something I haven't had before. Also my husband is a hazy IPA drinker and the fact that they don't have one is a star knock-off for him alone . They do get a rotating food truck that parks on the side which I'd say they get some pretty great selections. If you're just into trying new beer in the Treasure Valley, or are a fan of lighter beers, I definitely think you should try this place! It's just personally not one of our favorites. read more

Bert's Brewing was a brewery I got some beer from that proves to be a positive experience. Having many breweries on my bookmark list this was one I didn't know about and wasn't on my list. So a very nice surprise! For Bert's I had their Hello Sailor India Pale Lager. IPL for short is a relatively rare beer that I have seen at least. Much unlike the beer that has an "A" at the end of "IP". So in that regard it was fun trying out this discovery. Flavors to find and enjoy with this beer are hoppy (dry hop flavor), fruity (it's very subtle) with a clean and crisp finish. The beer is light bodied which is a plus for Steve and me as lighter beers are what we prefer more often than not these days. Especially as summer is rolling in. read more

Bert's has some of the best beers I've ever drank all served in the proper glassware for the type of beer. The beer tenders know their stuff and can answer all questions. I love the tasting room, which is much bigger than the building looks. I highly recommend getting a taster flight or two so you can sample all their great beers. The taster is served in a cigar box, which a one of the best ways I've seen. The side draft taps are definitely something you don't see everyday and give the beers a great taste. We saw Bert's on a random post form social media and figured we'd give it a shot. Their patio is gorgeous and makes you feel right at home. The people are friendly and will have you talking like long lost friends. There's no food but they do bring in food trucks and you can bring your own on days no food trucks are scheduled. The beer is awesome. We had a couple Amber's and Lagers. Each was smooth and easy to drink. Our pup had a blast just laying in the shade and enjoying all the attention from patrons coming to and from. There were dog bowls available at water station for her as well. If you don't drink alcohol, they have plenty of non-alcoholic options as well. All around, a quiet little gem to give you a break from the daily chaos. read more

I was super excited to try out Bert's after seeing how cute their decor was! I went with a couple of girlfriends for a beer before dinner downtown, and I was so pumped to try their new cherry sour I had seen marketed on their Instagram. Upon arriving my first impression was that the decor is top notch! The only downside was that it was raining outside and there wasn't a lot of seating inside. We ended up cozying up to 2 families with their kids spread out all over - not a huge deal but it was a bummer that they couldn't scooch a little closer to make more space for others. Went up to the bar and asked for the sour, only to find that they were out. I immediately saw that there were cans of it in the fridge next to the bar and asked if I could pay for the cans and open them in bar. The bartender rudely told me those were for to go only. I was disappointed but business rules go! I ended up trying two different beers and none of them were memorable enough to remember. I have, since then, tried the sour from the Co-Op and it's one of the best I've had in a while. All in all, I would go back if I was invited but didn't see any reason to make this one of my go-to spots. I would've paid the can price + a corkage fee if it had been an option! So maybe if they start doing that in the future I would go back again! read more

Bert's was fine. My beer was good, the service was okay, the atmosphere was okay. There were two small signs near the entrance of Bert's that were terribly ineffective at warning of the fate I would ultimately incur. Sometime during the 35 minutes I sat in Bert's, my vehicle was booted and I had to pay a $200 fine to get the boot off. 200 dollars!! I don't know if Bert's has anything to do with this-probably not. However, I will never return to this establishment again. I will warn anyone I can to stay away from Bert's. Bert's has inadvertently become the place in Boise that I despise most. Well, maybe not completely inadvertently. If this kind of predatory booting and fining takes place 3 feet from a wall that makes up your establishment, the servers should greet you by saying, "don't park behind Bert's or you will be fined $200 dollars" Bert, you need to speak with the city about this situation. If the fine had been $25 bucks, I might not be writing this review, but $200!! This is not right and unfortunately I am holding your establishment partially responsible. Good day sir. read more

These guys are extremely warm from the minute that you walk in, they don't have food, but they do have bad ass food trucks right out outside! Ambience is nice, very relaxing, dog friendly, and kid friendly ! Great service, the people that work here really care about their beer, and they are very knowledgeable about it ! read more

The owners opened up for a large group on Monday (which is the day they are really closed). Such a nice evening in the Garden City area, lots of new places popping up. So, I went in search of this new brewery to the Garden City, ID area and gps directions were a total failure first off. When I finally found the place, there was literally maybe 4 spots in the actual establishments location to park, everything else was street parking... None of the vacant or other business lots that were closed, allowed for parking and towing would be at risk if you did so... That brings us up to 2 strikes so far... I make my way into the brewery finally and appreciate the ambience of the place. I was trying to go over the options and when I asked if I could have a little taste of a couple of the beers to see if I liked them (they had a ton on the tap list) I was told that they didn't do tasters and would have to purchase a full pint. I did buy a pint of one of their beers and it was ok... I even tried a different one as well but again, it wasn't great. Not being able to taste anything before buying, along with a very loud atmosphere, uncomfortable seating, absolutely horrible parking and shitty gps directions left me with a bad taste in my mouth for this brewery and I won't be returning any time soon read more

Betts is great, just be careful where you park. $200 even on a Sunday. They will boot your car if you're not careful where you park.
