BUYERS BEWARE BERT OGDEN CHEVROLET…read more I've been negotiating with Bert Ogden Chevrolet for the past week on an incoming 2027 Corvette ZR1X. I initially offered $90,000 over MSRP, which was apparently close to being approved. On Saturday, I was told one of the managers believed the car could bring $100,000 over upon arrival. I called the salesperson, Jose Leyva, and asked a very simple question: If I agreed to the full $100,000 over MSRP, could I lock the car in with no games? I was told yes. I was then told management had agreed to the $100,000 over MSRP, provided that half of the money was wired to demonstrate that I was serious. I immediately agreed and asked them to send the purchase agreement and wire instructions. They sent me the purchase agreement reflecting the $100,000 markup, but no wire instructions. I spent the rest of Saturday trying to get the wire information. I eventually asked to speak with the sales manager, Fred, who called me and personally assured me that the deal was good to go, the car was locked in, and the wire instructions would be coming shortly. Saturday passed. Sunday passed. I was repeatedly told not to worry because the car was mine and they were simply waiting for the business office/accounting to open Monday. Then Monday morning came, and suddenly nobody was responding. Eventually, the salesperson Jose text me a lengthy apology wording it as though my $100k was only an offer. That another offer had supposedly come in for $130,000 over MSRP, which they said they turned down. Jose and Fred then explained that they had done everything they could and that the final decision belonged to General Manager Jakob Waldbusser. I was then told they would be selling the car for $150,000 over MSRP. The issue here isn't the price. Dealers are free to price their vehicles however they choose. The issue is keeping your word. I was given a purchase agreement. I was told management approved the deal. I was asked to wire money to demonstrate that I was serious. I was personally assured by the sales manager that the deal was locked in. If your word means nothing once more money comes along, what exactly is the value of doing business with you? There was an opportunity to handle this professionally, even if management ultimately wanted more money. Instead, I was given repeated assurances that the car was mine and then left waiting while the deal apparently changed behind the scenes. In my opinion, this is a serious lack of business ethics and integrity. People remember how you conduct yourself when money is involved. Unfortunately, my experience with this team was that their word was worth less than the next dollar offered. Buyers should do their own due diligence and be extremely careful when dealing with this dealership and its management team. Zero confidence. Zero business ethics. A word should still mean something in business.

As a retired military member, I was turned away from Bert Ogden Chevrolet's service department…read moresimply because my vehicle is more than 10 years old. It's frustrating to see a dealership pick and choose easy jobs rather than provide genuine mechanical service to customers. If they're only willing to handle quick, low-effort work like oil changes, they should be upfront about it instead of presenting themselves as a full-service repair shop. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Bert Ogden Chevrolet to anyone looking for real automotive care.

The service department did an outstanding job of diagnosing the issue I had with my truck…read more However, I had to call a few times in the afternoon to get the status of my truck and all I could get was "We'll call you back" and "I'll have the service manager call you"...and things like that. I had to press the issue to get a status since I needed my truck and if I wasn't able to get it that day, I could make alternate arrangements for transportation. But I needed to know. Of course, when I did get the status, they were going to charge me $811 to fix the issue. Really? Yes, you can make the claim that your technicians are factory "certified" and you use factory diagnostics tools, etc. And any outside competent mechanic can do it as well and far cheaper. I get that. But $811 for replacing an ignition coil, 6 ignition coil boots, and all 6 spark plugs? I'm an engineer by degree and trade and I know exactly the amount of labor and effort it takes to replace the aforementioned items on my truck. It doesn't take an associates degree in auto mechanics or to be factory "certified" to do it. I ordered all the parts the same day at a total cost of $146, shipped. Do the math on the amount of labor charges the dealer wanted. They are not OEM parts but I can tell you this, OEM parts are made to meet MINIMUM specifications, not necessarily exceeed, and I know this for a fact as I have authority to set technical specifications in my industry. So yeah...I know. The aftermarket items I ordered have longer warranties then Motorcraft and a bit cheaper so that tells you something. Don't get me wrong, Spikes Ford has an outstanding service department and can get the job done well and actually are far better then the experience I had with Boggus (who misdiagnosed the problem a year ago and have misdiagnosed two other issues I had with my truck) and really far better than Hacienda who literally told me to make an appointment or they wouldn't tend to my truck. Seriously? Would I go back to Spikes for service? YES! But don't try to con an ex-con when telling me how much it will cost to replace or fix certain items and they certainly need to call me back when they say they will. I know things get busy but make it a habit to call people back when you say you will. Been there, done that...I know how those things work. So yeah...

**The worst experience we have ever had at Spikes Ford.**…read more Unfortunately, our experience with Spikes Ford was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The agent assigned to assist us was extremely rude and appeared to be more interested in upselling additional products and services than actually helping us. I had specifically obtained pricing in advance for the services and items we intended to purchase. However, the agent later increased the prices and told us that the total cost would be higher than what we had originally been quoted. Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. Today, my wife had to return to the dealership and spend approximately **two hours** there because the plastic cover underneath the engine had not been properly secured after her oil change. This is a basic part of properly completing an oil change, and it should have been checked before the vehicle was returned to her. We expected much better service and attention to detail from a Ford dealership. Instead, we experienced poor customer service, unexpected price changes, and careless workmanship. **After this experience, we will not be returning to Spikes Ford. I would strongly encourage management to review how customers are being treated and how vehicles are being inspected before being returned to them.** Tuesday, 08/11/2026 @9:00 AM

Shortly after taking possession, the oil-life monitor was still at 73%. The front and rear wipers had not been replaced, the rear wiper was missing and damaged, and the vehicle was delivered dirty with a cracked windshield. Payne did replace the windshield, but they have stalled for over 3 months and eventually refused to address the remaining service discrepancies and continue to maintain that the CARFAX-listed work was performed. The registration also took close to 60 days. Payne told us it had already been sent, but near the 60-day mark they ultimately had to send it overnight. The condition of the vehicle did not match several of the services Payne reported as completed before the sale and resolving the remaining issues has required repeated follow-up. I will not do business with this dealership again. I would caution anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from a dealership that cannot maintain basic quality standards and refuses to take responsibility when problems are brought to their attention.

Because I was out of state and had limited options, I felt I had no choice but to proceed with the sale. The process dragged on for weeks because I was told they were trying to locate a notary in my state. I was also informed that $500 would be deducted from the quoted purchase price to cover the notary service. After weeks of waiting, they never provided a notary. Instead, they sent the documents via FedEx, yet they still kept the additional $500 deduction. I found this to be both unethical and unprofessional. Even after they received my signed documents and vehicle title, I had to make several follow-up calls before my payment was finally issued. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend doing business with this company.

Top it off they tell me I have to take vehicle to a Volvo dealership because they are Mazda, clearly I know it's Mazda but it hasn't even been a month and vehicle was purchased with them. Top it off all the questions I had Jennifer and another front desk female from their service department, clueless. Not their fault for not being trained properly but I don't recommend this service department to anyone especially if your purchasing a pre-owned vehicle.

I have been to two diffrent Mazda dealership in state of Texas before ever stepping foot into Mission Mazda. I can only speak highly of customer service recieved from the other two dealerships. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for everyone at Mission Mazda. I reached out to US Mazda for protocols when addressing service plans as well as other Mazda dealers. Protocol is to check to see if customer holds plan before proceeding with service. In past I have not had to tell service department whether I hold a plan or not (this includes dealership where I did not purchase car) I go in, get invoice with balance of $0.00. Whether the associate's follow protocol, go extra mile, and due-diligence I always feel taken care of and appreciated as customer. I currently hold a plan and was given a bill at Mission Mazda. I told Stephanie, "I have gold plan I shouldn't have a balance?" She asked if I had told her co-worker who checked me in. I said," No, it should be in system if you typed in VIN." Stephanie seemed very bothered by the fact I didn't relay this. Stephanie would have to make a call to correct error. Even though she tried to use a lovely tone, I could tell it was a hassle. Before I signed paper work she made sure to tell me again that I need to let them know I have plan beforehand. In other words don't make me do extra work. I told her no worries I won't be using Mission Mazda for service anymore I'm just visiting. The only reason I gave Mission Mazada a 2 star is because of the behind scene workers who serviced my car and the co-worker(wish I got her name) who checked me in were pleasant.
