I've been ripped off multiple times by Bert Norman's the technicians are really nice guys but the company is completely commercialized and an extremely for profit venture. I had a thumping going on with my irrigation system and they replaced my entire back flow unit for like 3k and that didn't even fix the problem I ended up having the irrigation guys come out and they simply cleaned the irrigation nozzles that had debris in it for a few hundred dollars and the problem was fixed I never needed a new back flow valve at all. They are just doing work and replacing things just to replace them just like the ac guys refusing to fix the issue just want to replace and install new even though my house and back flow were brand new. I should've done more research and that's on me but this company is absolutely taking advantage of people with their prices. I also had a water line dug and plumbed from a second water flow meter for my irrigation to the new water meter they charged 4k or something crazy. Again it's on me for not doing my due diligence but the irrigation company says they would have charged half or even less. read more

This has been our go to plumber since we moved here. The staff is always super friendly and all, I mean all of the service technicians are absolutely amazing. They answer all of your questions and listen actively to your concerns. They handled the installing of my automatic chicken waterers and now my life is so much easier. I opted for the concierge plan where if I have an emergency they will come save day to fix the problem, and with lack there of or overflowing-water can be a problem. I have no issues with the pricing as most of the companies charge the same type of hourly rate. Mr. Norman lives in our neighborhood so it's like having extra plumbing security. read more

Our Hot water heater tank started leaking badly on Friday at 4:55 PM.. The main water valve wouldn't close. so the water just kept leaking. I called Bert Norman, and within 20 minutes their Tech -'Elvis' was at our door. He was polite and started the job ASAP. By 7:00 PM we had a new hot water heater, and new piping and new valves. Compared to CJ Bass, which we have used several times and it's always a bad experience. I wish I knew both technicians last name but one of them their name is Jason. The walk-in shower handle would not turn off. Had water running constantly from the shower head. Called Bert Normans that morning and they were able to send a technician, Steven, out later that day. Steven was AWESOME! He was friendly, very knowledgeable, and let me ask him some questions while he did the repair. The repair was excellent! Steven made sure there were no leaks before he left and the shower handle worked perfectly. Bert Norman's Plumbing was recommended by our next-door neighbor, who has had a consistently positive experience. We were able to get an appointment the following morning, after calling at 7:30pm the night before. Jason, the plumber, was cordial, thorough and patient. He walked me through the specific steps he was taking to resolve the issue with our three separate toilets [and went out of his way to get warranty replacement parts from the toilet manufacturer (Kohler)]. I felt so confident that I even raised new issues: a dripping Delta faucet and slow hot water replacement on our Rinnai system (our house is a new build and just about 1 1/2 years old). We received an exhorbitant price quote for a simple job last week. We were quoted by Matt, I believe his name was, $3,600 to run a cold water line from the house 130 feet to a small brand new metal shop building for a utility sink. We have our own well, so there was no water company involved. This job should've been possibly $500 max. My late husband was a Florida Licensed General Contractor who built in Florida and Georgia for almost 50 years. I'm pretty sure he would've choked if he heard that. Maybe there was a disconnect or misunderstanding of the job between my friend who received the quote and Matt? We could do the job ourselves with buried pvc or at least temporarily run a hose to a $135 sink from Home Depot, but obviously preferred not to. read more

When I called, they walked me through what to do until they could get here, which ended up being fine to wait until first thing in the morning after we shut the water off. Was the work expensive? Heck yeah! They should add CPR to their training requirements; however, I can remember paying $3200 for a new pickup truck which ain't the case nowadays. The price is why I'm giving them 4 stars. Everything else was great! I've spent 50 years in construction. Needless to say, I'm not as flexible at 73 as I was at 43 when I could do my own plumbing work. When working on old things, I expect breakage, parts not being available, etc., all of which are beyond the control of the Technician. Both of our 23-year-old toilets were leaking through the flapper valves. All the connecting rods were corroded. The manufacturer went out of business years ago. JEA never sent me a Thank You card, so I called Bert Norman's plumbing, talked to Shannon and got scheduled for that afternoon. Kris came out and began rebuilding the mechanism. Parts broke, he had to go back to the shop for parts. The flow rate on the toilets were slow due to mineral buildup in the jets over 23 years. Problems. Problems. I talked with Shannon and rescheduled to replace the toilets. Kris came back the next day and replaced the toilets. The 23-year-old flanges that connect the toilet to the sewer and also holds the toilets in place, no rocking while you're doing your business, broke on both toilets as Kris was removing the toilets. Now we had two flanges to replace in addition to everything else. Long story short, $1600 later we were back to normal. Kris was professional, wore shoe covers in the house, did an excellent job, showed me the problems as they occurred, didn't leave a mess or get any water on the hardwood floors when taking the old toilets away. He also went to bat for me over the BOOK charges to lower my costs to a more reasonable amount. He's golden! Shannon was great to deal with in the office and they actually pay attention to the schedule which is more than most service companies do in today's world. I'd call them again. read more

Bert's plumbing is fabulous!! I called three plumbers to fix a leak in our main water line coming into the house - Bert's was the only one who came the same day. They fixed the whole problem in an hour and improved our system in general. Another plumber said it would take four hours and they'd have to move our hot water heater - Bert's didn't need to. The work performed was fine but the cost was OUTRAGEOUS!!! THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE US $936 TO INSTALL 2 BATHROOM FAUCETS AND WE PURCHASED THE FAUCETS!! They finally got the price down to $638 which is still $188 PER HOUR + a $99 service fee. Have done business with them for 18 years but never again. read more

From speaking to the very pleasant person that answered the phone, Lauren, to Jason the plumber who arrived clean cut with a pleasant, friendly attitude, I was delighted with the level of customer service. Lauren put me on the after hour emergency list but said if a service tech could squeeze me in, it wouldn't be xtra. They charged me $2000 to install new cold hot water knobs and secure 1 toilet. When they got to second shower they wanted another $1300 after telling me it would only be an additional $300. When I said I don't have an additional $1300 they said oh you can finance. Felt as though I got scammed and taken. Still don't have 2 working showers after $2000. A poor/expensive plumber experience with no repair just a suggestion a need to return after I purchase replacements, meant simple leaking faucets repairs resulted in skepticism and uneasiness for this senior with an ambulatory disability. Friends suggested Bert Norman's Plumbing; therefore, an appointment was booked. Receptionists told me up front a service fee of $49 was mandatory on any call. The technician arrived promptly entering with shoe coverings to assess the "leaking" sinks (kitchen & bath) dilemma. I had been told both needed new fixtures (another call, another $115 service fee from previous Plumber). Burt Norman's technician evaluation was one sink only needed filter cleaning and the other needed handle repairs and cleaning out! Informed him I could not clear under sink area, and he said "no problem". He cleared and even cleaned area and afterwards replaced all! Always polite and courteous with competent manners even explaining when he had to leave briefly to secure parts on another's truck there was no extra expense. Jason from Burt Norman's Plumbing provided such a positive repair encounter. It has been a long time since I have experienced such informative, respectable, and ethical professionalism. You don't need a plumber often...at least you hope you don't. First used Bert Normans a few years ago when I woke up to a backflow preventer spraying water all over the lawn, with big puddles in the street indicating that it had started before dawn. Tried a few plumbers a shade closer to me, all of whom just could not handle an emergency. Bert Normans Plumbing company came out quickly and fixed the problem. Flash forward to yesterday and I am in need of a plumber to fix some toilet valves and leaky faucets, so I knew who to call. Shannon, the office manager, set the appointment and called when the technician was on his way. Jason was professional, wore shoe covers in my house, and reviewed everything, including cost, before starting. He fixed it all with the exception of one thing which needed a part not on the truck. He called in and made arrangements for the part to be available. By the end of the afternoon, another appointment was set for him to return at my convenience with the needed part.
