My outside hose bib busted this last winter and DTP was the only company that could come out the next day. They told me his charge time ($135hr) started from when he left his last appt until he leaves mine and he would call when he left. He called at 0950 and arrived at 1005 (15 min). It was a simple remedy to remove one and install another. My cameras observed repairman walking very slowly, back and forth 4 different times and spending up to 7 minutes at his vehicle each time. What could he possibly need to go back and forth 4 times for and spend so much time at his service truck?? Not to mention the time spent at the faucet in question. He finished at around 1115 and my bill was $52.96 for parts and $270 for labor!! The invoice showed he left his previous job at 0934 and finished mine at 1135. A 30 minute job that he stretched out with driving time to 2 billable hours!! Whew Look Out! I am disabled and certainly did not need the confrontation or anxiety to argue over his work and billable time. read more

After our old washing machine bit the dust, we found a replacement and scheduled delivery. To my consternation, as I was disconnecting the water lines to remove the old washer, I discovered the cold water shutoff valve on the wall had failed and could not be turned off! With the new washer soon to be delivered, the clock was ticking, and I needed a quick solution. Hoping I could dash out to the local big box home hardware stores and find a replacement valve, I was sorely disappointed. This valve was nowhere to be found! An alternative is to open up the wall, cut the pipes and replace the entire box, valves and all. With a new washer on the way, there was no time for that. I contacted Dave Turner as I needed to have a kitchen sink water spout repaired that was leaking at the junction of the sink to the spout. The 'plumber' came over and informed me that it would be cheaper to buy a new spout than to install new one so I went out and bought a new one and called back. They charged me for a new appointment and I made the appointment. When he returned he installed the Glacier Bay Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet. I had left before he commenced work on the installation as I had another appointment nearby. I left a key with him to lock up and hide. So when I return...guess what? There is not hot water connected. The detachable sprayer does not detach more that 6 inches. It appears that the counterbalance weight was attached to the hose in the wrong place. When I went over to complain and schedule another plumber to come over Dave Turner told me that Justin (the original) was free and he could come over now. I responded that I would be a damned fool to have him back. Dave proceeded to raise his voice and inform me that he would call the sheriff were I to use any more profanity. That is when I told him to f**k off and it went bolder than that. I fled the scene before that old disgusting Santa Clause bearded redneck put a bullet into my head. Since 2010, I've had Dave Turner Plumbing come to my house five times....toilet installs, water softener install and plumbing leaks. Each time their service has been quick, friendly and efficient. I don't think their pricing is out of line by any means and I have no problem giving them a call if something comes up I don't feel like dealing with. read more

Hi fellow friends: Stay away from this plumbing out fit. They will rob you left and right. Here is my very recent experience. Upon a very recent discussions with one of the owner - Dustin and Heather for the installation of water Softner + Pre and Carbon filters (very norma/standard installation) they gave me a quote based on the T&M basis - 2-3 (max) hours labor + materials. Though, I had a quote from the two other plumbing outfits for $450 and $500, out the door price but inspite of that I went with this outfit calculating in my head 3 hours max labor = $345+ $100-$200 materials still it should not cost me ~$500 or so. But to my shocking, they charged me $877 = 4 hours labor + $417 all plastic materials. If you go with them, you will have nothing but regrets and financial pains. Do not get into T&M trap. Wish I could give them no stars. We moved to Yulee and found out we needed a water softener. We didn't have a loop. The plumber dug a small hole and put in gravel. My husband later saw it was dumping water on the ground, and we had salt water backing up into the house. We called and they sent the same plumber out. He said he thought it wouldn't work and suggested we run it into the storm sewer. My husband pointed out that was illegal. We wasted our money on them. We ended up calling another plumber who offered us two good options. read more

We had a problem with our hot water heater. Being on a fixed income this was a big problem. Dave Turner Plumbing was amazing helping me figure out what was wrong. I removed the elements and took them up to Turner's and Dustin checked them out. No problem with them. He suggested to check out the thermostat. We were in a difficult situation. Drain pipes suspended under our house had collapsed. We could use any water. Had to go to hotel. After another company failed to come help us we called Dave Turner. Got a quote from another plumber to install a kitchen faucet that was outrageous. Bought my own online and Dave Turner Plumbing installed it perfectly (AND fixed the lack of shut off valves under my sink) in just over an hour for a very reasonable fee. We will definitely call them again. read more

On the plus side, the technician did a great job of snaking my line and determining that my septic tank and drain field were the real issue. However, in the process of bringing his equipment in, he left splotches of oil, dirt and even dead leaves in various spots on my floors and in the bathroom. My new paint, throw rug and shower curtain were all stained. I complained when calling to pay, but I do not feel I was taken seriously all-- got only a perfunctory apology from the person taking payment. Called them on a Sunday to fix a leaking pipe. I give them credit for at least answering the phone. The plumber assigned called back and told us the job would cost a MINIMUM of $280 for the first two hours. I told them it should not take anywhere near that time. The plumber showed up promptly and was courteous and professional. The job took less than 30 minutes, but we were charged the full two hours, plus a part, bringing the total to $300 for half an hour's work. Dave Turner Plumbing had us over a barrel, because we had to shut down water to the entire house to avoid having the bathroom flood. We did not appreciate how they took advantage of us and charged such a ridiculous rate. read more
