One of the best stadiums in MLS, I'd argue, and the weather here is always wonderful. It's also perfectly located in a sadly gentrified neighbourhood, right next to downtown Houston in EaDo, and really adds to its surroundings, and is nothing short of beautiful inside and out. Would not be out of place as a European Stadium, and is truly magnificent. My other review of this stadium said: Not to be confused with BDSM Stadium, which is something very different, more adult, more painful, more restrictive, for the sub anway. Moving on. Houston has a pretty amazing soccer stadium just to the east of downtown and it's beautiful and perfect for what it does, one of the better ones I've been to. I'd downgrade for the insane cost of everything (a beer is 10 to 20 dollars, yes I'm serious), but then every stadium is like that these days... they should GTFO really. But for the stadium itself.... wow. It's a shame they didn't have the stadium during the days when they were winning everything, this would have been perfect for that, but hopefully one day they will be winning everything again with this great stadium, that is like the Reliant Stadium/NRG Stadium of soccer.. it's amazing. As for the team, it's home to the Houston Dynamo. Not to be confused with a murder plot against an orange-white Clownfish in America's 4th largest city (Houston Die-Nemo). Houston is one of the classic teams in the league, even though they secretly stole San Jose away from San Jose, and changed the Earthquake name to Dynamo, to reflect the industrial energy nature of the Houston economy. I'm a fan of a team and I think they do a good job, and are a main fixture in the sports scene of the city, which isn't really much of a sports city to be honest, and none of the Rockets/Astros/Texans get an immense amount of love compared to other regions, and the Dynamo holds its own to some degree. It had some great success in the past and long may that continue. They need to get back on the wagon and be a top team, and I hope they can get the support they deserve to go with their amazing stadium close to downtown. And yeah this stadium gets hot AF in summer, but it's all good.

Texas High School Football…read more Rhodes stadium is where some of the toughest high school football players face off and make a name for themselves. It's a place where kids in marching bands performing in Texas heat turn the sound up. Where girls on the high schools dance squads kick in a traditional line dance. The kids and volunteers who play/work at Rhodes Stadium earn all the stars. You have to watch a Katy HS game to really see the magic though. Fans holding on to their season tickets like they were Packers fans. If the concessions should only match the rivalries this place would be great. But I'm pretty sure they serve the cheapest forms of hotdogs anyone could find and so I strongly urge you to stick to bottled water and eat well before the game. If you like food, go to a Strake home game! It may be small ball but the concessions serve real food.

The center is modern, clean, organized and has all the amenities. I came prepared with a clear bag but entry was still a breeze. Security does a great job pointing people in the direction of their seats and ensuring that stairways and hallways remain clear. In terms of food and drink, I was really impressed with the number of options. They have two full service food counters on either side of the arena. While I personally did not get anything, I saw people passing by with nachos and popcorn. If you want something a little more substantial Antones Poboys and Chick-fil-a were both set up for grab and go. They also had lots of alcoholic beverage options from tall boy beers, liquor for cocktails and even a spiked fresh lemonade stand. The arena has a fan shop onsite, some historical displays and a kid coloring zone. The game itself was well played (they won!) and executed from the announcer to the lights and entertainment. Dow Elementary School building, built in 1912. Despite the improvement they have done but it is still not as handicap friendly To enter the building there is a flight of stairs and they did build a ramp from an side entrance. But the ramp to go up inside the building is very steep, if you are in a wheelchair by yourself, it is very difficult to go up or go down without flying down. There are no ramps to go up to the second floor. The restroom on the first floor is not handicap friendly either as there is a step you have to get up to use the restroom and there is no grab bars and the sink and the toilet is so close, it is very tight inside. I love they have convert the classroom to different studio where you can take different class these offer here. I love the events they have here and the class but I wish they will improve on the accessibility for this place.

I came by during Christmas time to meet with Pancho Clause. Him and his helpers used Meca as a place to sort and distribute gifts for the local kids. They also have a huge festival where Pancho Clause sings and dances, and hands out more gifts. It was a fun filled day, and you could see the joy on the faces of the little children.
