We had a wonderful time at Bernie's watching Beetlejuice and Home Alone as a family. They have a great menu selection, the popcorn is delicious, the theatre is so beautiful and the service is always excellent. The theatre itself is very old school luxury. Was driving around Kelowna and saw this place and the reviews were good. Went in and was greeted but the staff and they were able to find me a spot. This place was packed and for good reason. Lots of street parking and public transit Started with the squash soup which was wowowowoowowowowo. So good so fresh I could have eaten a few more of those. The added surprise of pine nuts was a nice surprise The steak tartar was so fresh and you can taste the seasoning but not overpowering. I added a bit more salt because I like it more salted. There version of a chicken Caesar salad . Probably the best I had in a wile. Chicken was not dry and was super moist and seared perfectly. The dressing was light but covered the salad just right. This place was incredible! We stopped in a bit early before the movie to enjoy a drink and appetizer. I tried the "snappy soda" mocktail which was actually snap pea flavoured. I know that sounds weird but it was very refreshing with mint and lemon. I appreciate a creative mocktail that isn't just super sugary! We also tried the "big warm buns" which were delightful. We made our way into the theatre and ordered more drinks and dinner. I had the vegan pasta (bucatini volognese) and my partner sampled the raw menu with the oysters, tuna and tartare. Everything was delicious. The process of ordering during the movie is seamless - write on a piece of paper and turn your lamp on and the server will come. I wasn't distracted during the movie with anyone else's ordering. The seats were super comfy too. I'll admit I was a little confused about how everything worked but the staff was super helpful in explaining everything. Even if you're not into watching a movie the restaurant itself is excellent. We got to the restaurant with no reservations and we got very lucky to get seated within 5-10 minutes! The place is absolutely fabulous very modern cabaret look! They have a movie playing upstairs everyday with limited menu but still so great!! The service was phenomenal staff here extremely friendly A big shoutout to Kenya our waitress who took care of us although she was in charge of so many tables she definitely came around quite often to make sure we were satisfied with everything! Very friendly and welcoming! She explained our entire menu to us and answered all our questions. Food: delicious!! Their squash soup : 5++++ was absolutely excellent.. creamy and savoury.. no need to season it was perfection Seafood Tower: 3.5 Shrimps were ok .. a little weird taste , oyster phenomenal .. can't complain!! Tuna sashimi on the bottom plus sushi's deeelish, the ceviche was not my favourite wish I could of had just extra sashimi or oysters instead!! Beef Tartare 5++++/5 Deelish and the maple crostini's paired incredibly well with the beed Caesar Salad: 5+++++ Wow I never had it with crispy roasted Brussel sprouts this changed the entire taste for the better absolutely divine! The chocolate torte for dessert 5/5 It was made with an Amaretto crème anglaise, dark chocolate shavings, maldon salt !! Absolutely delicious and devoured the entire plate yumm Bar service: 2/5 As we ordered our drinks they didn't really make my cocktail as asked and had to send it back twice .. although our waitress was extremely sweet about it .. I believe the bartender needs some extra attention to detail! This establishment was literally right across from our hotel in downtown Kelowna so when our guests expressed interest in checking it out, we were on it. We were greeted quickly, and having a reservation, seated quickly as well. The place is decorated very eclectically which is right up our alley. Bernie's has a colourful history that you may want to explore, but our server Steph, was the highlight of our visit. She informed us that she loves to talk which fit in with the two lasses in our group. Her encyclopedic understanding of the menu was quite impressive. Her verbal delivery of the offerings allowed us to almost experience the dish without actually physically enjoying it. There were however some missteps. "The Dirty" martini, had by three of us, failed to impress. It was ok, but the olives were pedestrian, didn't pack a punch, and there was little "dirty" present. Our shared appy was a wagyu beef dumpling, that was underwhelming. Our entrees were a couple of rib dishes that were very well received and delicious. I had the ling cod fish and chips that was ok, and finally, a strip loin entree that was great, although the potatoes were a little heavy on the the gorganzola butter and overpowered the dish. Overall, a great experience, with exceptional service by Steph, just need a bit more from the kitchen. read more

Such a cute place with old school Hollywood decor. The seafood we got was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly but a bit slow.

Had a date night with wife (23rd anniversary) first time for me and we were both super impressed! Genuine service, professional team!! Mark is a fantastic bartender to watch and drink his well crafted cocktails! Food great & a good variety of great dishes. Coming back & will catch a movie next time. Great vibe up there read more
