This place is the definitional "neighborhood gem." The menu is not easy to interpret, because there are specials and items in the display cooler that aren't on the menu. So when you order, make sure to consider what's in the coolers in front of you + what's on the menu. Looks are deceiving. The furniture, silverware, and cups and plates look like they're from the 1980s. The salad bar looks pretty unappetizing as it's weigh by the pound and various bowls of cold salad recessed against ice chips, think Sizzler when you were growing up. But the quality of the food was amazing. I love that they have fresh made egg pasta and a variety of sauces to choose from. And the lobster ravioli they were serving was absolutely delicious. I think my favorite thing was the ravioli, but I asked for it with the Alfredo sauce, which was made with cream and sherry. Pretty unforgettable sauce, and worth it. The crowd seemed on the older end - families and retired folks. The food was reasonably priced and the service was great - the staff was attentive and the gentleman who helped us clear the table and bring out a high chair for our little one earned the $20 we gave him. I'm sad to say we will be moving to Boston this week, but I'm hopeful that someone will read my review and consider coming here. Small town feel, fresh and high quality ingredients, reasonable prices, looks locally and family owned, nice ambiance and outdoor seating, and most importantly, solid food. Thanks Bernard!

What a local gem! I wasn't sure how I would feel about this place as it's in a strip mall, but decided to try the place out. The food was amazing. We had their oven fried chicken and it was so good. The chicken was not dried, but juicy and the breading was flavorful. They have fresh bread that were so amazing. Especially the focaccia bread, soooo good! The service was great, and the ambiance is cute. Can't wait to go back for the homemade pasta.

Best pasta in the burbs. All homemade including the sauces. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Tony and Tina's is right up there with the best of them, no question. Got the Club for $11.99 with chips and a drink, plus $4 to make it a large. This thing was absolutely MASSIVE. They do not skimp on a single thing. Loaded with meat, toppings, and just an insane amount of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and the portions are ridiculous, especially for the price. On top of that, the service was super friendly. Just an all-around great experience. I've had a LOT of subs over the years, and this one seriously blew me away. If you know a good sub, you need to give this place a shot. One of the best I've had, hands down. Tony and Tina's is the real deal.

Made me feel at home, especially as a non Chicago native who didn't understand the love IL has with giardinera (east coast we just call em hot and sweet peppers)...explained the lunch menu and that it came with chips and a drink. Sandwich itself... fantastic! Well proportioned, bread was solid. Hot giardiniera was GREAT. Fantastic flavor, and the sandwich held up well with the meats. Overall, solid sandwich option - supporting small local businesses!

Although there are no tables, there's a ledge by the window with some stools if you want to "dine in". The guy running the place looked young but was super friendly and seemed genuinely passionate about the deli. He told me they make their meats and soups in store. It was a cold day so I opted for a small size of each of their soils that day- chicken noodle, cream of chicken, and roasted stuffed peppers. Everyone in the family had a taste of each and we all had different favorites so I will conclude that regardless of what you get, you will enjoy it! My husband also had their chicken pesto panini while I split a ham and swim with my son. Good flavors and fresh ingredients. Also excellent proportions. We will definitely be back!

Interestingly I just coleslaw esp but other sides harshly if not well done. Cole slaw at bbq joint's same thing, will inform the rest of the offerings. So perhaps I'm biased but a deli w/o a str8 up rye bread is quite the surprise. Marbled is a different beast. The side potato salad tastes generic. Sandwich was ok but basically same as most grocery store meat counter slices. Meat portion on bread quite small. Price not small to match. That's a little bit of too bad.

Family traditions so strong you can taste them in every bite and they've now carried that torch successfully for nearly three decades. Definitely the kind of place that's easy to stop into when you're looking for something simple and unfussy. We ordered the Italian beef with hot giardiniera and a garden salad. The standout for me was actually the bread--it was fresh, soft, and really elevated the sandwich. The beef itself was decent, but it was drier than I expected and didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for. Thankfully, the hot giardiniera added some much-needed moisture and spice, which helped bring the sandwich together. The garden salad was very basic--just lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes--but the Italian dressing was excellent and packed with flavor. Sometimes a great dressing is all a simple salad needs. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would come back, but next time I'd probably skip the Italian beef and try one of their deli sandwiches instead. Based on what I've heard and seen, that seems to be where Berto's really shines.
