Whoa, I really wished I read these reviews before I had bought my car two years ago. However, this review isn't going to be about that experience... Recently I received a letter from Bernadi Toyota, letting me know that my car is available for an upgrade, no money down and possibly lower monthly payments. Of course reading that, I was intrigued to find out more of what this offer is. I made an appointment to come in because they need to inspect my vehicle first to see its value. I met with a salesperson (who I won't name) and basically he asked me what car I wanted to upgrade and what I'm looking for. I explained to him before we even start looking for a car, can you just give us the value of our car then we can start looking. I explained to him that I don't want to waste anyone's time here if the numbers aren't good. However, he insisted that we look at my "potential" car first. Well, needless to say, one and half hour later, I walked out frustrated, annoyed and no new car. I won't get into it but I was frustrated because the numbers weren't what we expected (I did my research and they weren't honest about their price) and that's why I had told the salesperson from the beginning to give us the current value first before we do anything. I'm annoyed because he grabbed his manager to talk to me and all the manger kept saying was "how about leasing?" NO. NO. NO. I already told you what I want and what to expect. Had a Twilight Zone like return to unethical selling techniques this week at Bernardi Toyota. Went to make a deal on a car and couldn't agree on a price. Two days later I get a call saying we think we can make this deal work. So on the night of Game 6 of the world series I head on up there, we negotiate a deal that was not quite as good as I would have liked but was doable. Get to the paperwork phase and boom: I'm sorry, that car was sold about a half hour before you came in. After all that I tried to give them chances to make this right and they would not. They are total BS. Wish I had read the reviews here before wasting my time. 11/04/13 UPDATE: Wow if you could give negative stars I would. Last weekend I get a call from Kevin at the dealership, sales manager I think. Apologizes for recent events, says come up and work with me specifically. I'll make you a l good deal (within reason). I think it's safe to say that after an ugly bait and switch it's going to be a real good deal before I'd do business with them. Slides the exact same deal in front of me as before. Unfortunately at this point it's going to take a bit more than that to seal a deal with these guys. Defacto confirmation that they think nothing of even being caught at a bait and switch. what does that tell you. 11/07/13 UPDATE: Was contacted again by the dealership and they made a very good faith effort to rectify all problems. We were able to come to a deal and I'd say all is good. Already have one small issue with the car. Bad CD deck. Absolute WORST customer service I've ever experienced at a car dealership, they are disorganized and have no respect for your time. I will not be going back, recommend taking your car elsewhere! Made an appointment to have a part replaced because of a Toyota recall - dropped it off, and was then told the new part they had was defective. I First of all, I'd like to start by saying that I purchased my car here, and will go back. This review has nothing to do with the sales....I think it's fun to bargain and watch them sweat. :) This review is about the Body Repair Shop. I don't know the exact name, but it's run out of the Toyota dealership. I had an accident and my bumper needed repair. I brought it in, on a scheduled appointment, and paid for a rental car. The repair took a week. When I picked it up, I was just so happy to see my car, and have it back, I overlooked the whole "check it out" process that I should have gone through in the first place. A couple nights later a friend looked at my bumper and notices that there was, what looked like, paint smears across the black plastic bottom. I pretended like I didn't see it, and went on about my usual business. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the bumper wasn't actually connected completely on one side. At this point I went back to the dealership to show them. Another appointment, another rental (this time provided by Toyota-thank goodness). They had my car for a whole day, and THIS time, when I went t to pick it up, I inspected it. GUESS WHAT? Paint.... still. On a happy note, the bumper was officially completely connected to the car. I was so blindsided by the paint though, I couldn't focus. I walked in, got the guy in charge of the repairs, and took him out to see. His response? Next time you're here, let me know, and Ill have the guys clean it off. YOU HAD MY CAR FOR A WHOLE DAY...NEVER MIND THE WHOLE WEEK BEFORE!! Super Frustrating. read more

Bernardi for now...Bernardi for lies!! CAVEAT EMPTOR!! We bought a car here in 2016 and it was the floor model, so it had 5,000 miles on it. We were told that we'd get complimentary oil changes via ToyotaCare up until 30,000 miles even though it usually expires at 25,000 miles because it had 5,000 miles on it already. When we tried to make the 30,000 mile appointment they told us we'd be charged the $250 for the service, in spite of what we were told when we purchased the vehicle. They would not budge. Finally, we called Toyota corporate and they told us that Bernardi shouldn't have told us that they'd extend the ToyotaCare because it doesn't work that way. BUT, Toyota corporate did give us a credit to cover the 30,000 mile appointment because we've been Toyota customers for almost 20 years. Just be careful if you purchase a car at Bernardi and make sure to get things in writing because it seems like there's either poor communication there or they make hollow promises. Del Silva- the salesman and John Gonçalves- the finance guy had no communication skills among themselves. I'm very disappointed with the costumer service provided by this location and by these two guys. They had me sign the title on the wrong place, which delayed the process; they were very dismissive and arrogant and I will NEVER purchase a car with these people again. At the end, they registered my car with the wrong color. Now I have to go back again to try to once again fix another mistake of theirs. The moral of this review is: these were all silly mistakes which could have been avoided if the communication among the employees was better. The mistakes were silly, yes, but these silly mistakes causes a lot of inconvenience for the consumer. I understand people make mistakes but this is pure negligence. read more

I've been bringing my Toyota Highlander here for service for about 10 years now.  Even though I didn't buy the car here, they have always treated me excellently.  They always manage to get my car in promptly when I call to make an appointment, their service desk is usually well staffed and so they can take my car for service promptly when I show up, they finish the service promptly, they have a nice waiting area with free coffee, and the car is always returned in nice shape. They've also to the best of my knowledge always been honest about only recommending needed service. My dad and brother are professional mechanics, and I've checked with them multiple times whenever I've wanted a second opinion and they've always confirmed Bernardi's recommendations. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WHILE PURCHASING A VEHICLE!!!!!!!!!!! If you know what is good for you, do NOT use this dealership for your car buying needs. I picked up my vehicle on the 29th of August and have been picking up their messes ever since. The sales and finance team have managed to screw up my insurance, they let me drive around for two weeks without a current registration or state inspection (I had to track that down myself), AND! they have ROYALLY screwed up my account settlement for my previous car. ...as in they NEVER filed the paperwork. The best part? NO ONE will call me back to confirm their supposed actions of rectifying the situation took place. Supposedly someone from the Finance Department called Toyota Financial; however - Toyota Financial has no record of it. My credit is now in danger because of Bernardi's incompetencies. I have used their service department before and have had pretty good experiences with them. So I have no complaints there. Next stop - BBB. It is a true shame you cannot rate a business with a zero. The most discombobulated business I've witnessed in a while. I regrettably saw a car I was interested in and was contacted by their online sales rep, Nathena. She seemed nice but seemed to not have the best memory I.e. asking me which car I was interested in when that was the first email in our chain and what we had been discussing. Also when I call as requested once I arrived and tell her I'm outside in my car I'm trading in then get asked which car I'm in... I'll try not to be too verbose: Over email initially I was getting prompt responses from her, she notified me "good news! As long as you trade in the car you currently own, we can help you out!" Which I thought was presumptive as I had not said I wanted to trade in my vehicle at that point. I ask for the monthly (72 month) payments for the car, she responds saying "her manager" (Kevin Coady) has approved X, Y and Z... the X, Y, and Z was a table with 2 columns: monthly payment and how much down upfront. Keeping in mind I specifically asked for 72 months and she confirmed her manager had worked that out for me, I did the math myself (a shame they didn't know I'm quite successful in mathematics) and calculated that over 72 months I would be paying 29% APR based on their three payment options.... this can't be real. I used reverse math and calculated that the only way those payments would've been reasonable would've been with a just under 35 month term. So I had to ask... did you send me prices for a 36 (34.8 really) month term and try to get me to agree to it and pass it off as 72 months...? She let me know, of course I was correct, and "my manager will send the breakdown for 72 months shortly", two days later I get that and it has payments for 36, 60 and 66 months, nowhere in sight is 72, but that's okay. She asked me when I could come in to test drive it and I let her know I'd have to ask my wife first and would reach out to her later that day, an hour later I get a call from some random employee from a different department in an annoyed tone asking me when I'm coming in so they can sanitize the car beforehand... I told him I had just emailed Nathena and told her I would let her know later. We set up yesterday at 12:15pm. I got there right on time, called, she said someone would be pulling the car up in a few minutes (I guess the appointment was made for nothing), almost ten minutes go by and she calls and says she's sorry the car isn't on their lot.... it's "just 6 minutes down the road at Bernardi's Honda in Natick (will be leaving a review on theirs as well.)" I laughed in awe and said it wasn't a problem, at this point I had already wasted enough time, I might as well see the car. It took me 15 minutes to get there, I get there and they had no idea who I was and their sales manager basically told me screw Bernardi's Toyota you're going to buy the car here but the credit app I had done there, would now have to be done all over again and another hard inquiry was going to go on my credit because the car was never Toyota's. Great places to avoid as you can hopefully tell. To add insult to injury, after I left their lot to now go to Toyota in pursuit of this infamous phantom vehicle, their manager, the aforementioned Mr. Kevin Coady sent me his same BS templated email basically saying "thank you for coming to your appointment, we appreciate your patience as we are BUSY finishing up sanitizing the vehicle for your safety..... the vehicle that was never theirs, has never seen their lot, or been in their inventory, that he himself had apparently approved two different sets of financing terms for. I replied rather sarcastically saying yes I did in fact take time out of my busy schedule and proposed the question how he was busy sanitizing he car that's miles away? The wonderful Kevin Coady of course didn't reply, how could he, right? He must've been too busy being Sherlock Holmes trying to find another idiot's vehicle that has never been on that lot. Do. Not. I bought a car from private seller and Bernardi had done service and check for car couple days before. Report was clean and it show that car was good condition. When I took car for inspection it didn't pass. There was clear safety issues in steering and leak in both shock absorbers. Both issues clearly visible! I visit Bernardi and ask if they anything to say about the report or guality of the work they do. Man in service desk didn't understand what was the issue! My car was stolen and subsequently recovered locked and without keys. I called Bernardi Toyota to schedule the car to be re-keyed. They quoted me keys and installation, but would only order the keys if I provided a pre-payment, which unfortunately my cards were stolen with the car that day. I told the parts individual that I will pay for the keys and service when I get the car next day, but he refused to order two keys. He said he will order just one. If I ordered one I would have to come back for the second and pay an additional $300 to have the second installed. Not only that, he did this in such a horrific demeaning tone, like I am a lower rate citizen. I offered the police report, identification, address and anything to hold as security but he wouldn't budge. If I could leave a -10 stars I would... in the meantime Wellesley Toyota ordered me the keys and will install tomorrow with no pre-payment, because I guess they are more sympathetic and are in the business of providing a superior service. I looked on Yelp to see a lot of negative reviews .I am not going to lie I was nervous. I dropped my tacoma off this morning with Phil he went out of his way telling me not to worry that they will check everything .I currently have an extended warranty. The tech seen my rear shocks leaking but instead of saying it was not covered which most places would .Phil called the Warranty centre talked to them on my behalf to see if they would cover them.I went to pick up my truck at no charge to me.I think Phil went above and beyond and Bernardi is a trusted dealer. read more

I want to state up front that this review is of the sales and sales management operation of Bernardi Toyota. I was a customer of this dealer's service department for 9 years, including all warranty, maintenance and repair work on both of my Toyotas. I have never actually purchased a car from Bernardi Toyota, however. A bit over a month ago I decided to take advantage of some dealer and tax-related incentives to update my 11 1/2 year old Prius to a 2017 Prius Prime (I have solar panels on my house). I thought I would give Bernardi Toyota a chance to sell me a car. The experience was a customer service disaster. I was working with them and another dealer on April 30th - the last day of a significant rebate on the vehicle. In the afternoon, the salesperson and I reached a price point. I was very careful to be sure that we understood each other - to the point where he calculated the sales tax on the price to demonstrate that that was the amount on which I would pay taxes. He even went of on the proverbial "talk with my manager". I couldn't close the deal because I wanted my wife to be in on the conversation, and she was at work in meetings most of the day. When I did talk with her later in the afternoon, she mentioned that she realized she had never test drove the car. So I suggested she call the salesperson and ask if she could once she left work. She called me back a few minutes later and told me that the salesperson indicated that he was concerned that "your husband misunderstood our conversation". Skipping a few insignificant details, we found ourselves sitting with a sales manager 1/2 hour before all local dealers closed. The sales manager not only pushed back really hard on us, but made us feel as if we were somehow not being honest. He then said to us, "let me leave you two to discuss this.". We looked at each other, agreed that we had just been insulted, and walked out. Unfortunately, it was too late to return to the other dealer to purchase the vehicle. The good news is that Toyota extended the incentive past April 30th, so we now own a Prius Prime and are very happy with it. We of course did not purchase it from Bernardi Toyota. I wrote the dealer a note on the website explaining what happened, but it was only after I sent a note directly to the person who arranged my original meeting with the salesperson that a sales manager called me back. They left a message, and I did the same, and never heard from that sales manager again. When I sat down with the sales manager on April 30th, he could have acknowledged that perhaps the salesperson made a mistake, and while they couldn't do as well as he indicated, maybe to make up for the inconvenience they could do something. Instead, we got the treatment I described above. I've been purchasing cars since the 1970s, and thought the days of dealers' pulling these types of shenanigans were over. The dealer obviously didn't care that my 9 years of service business has come to an end (unless the dealer does something to make up for their horrible treatment of a customer, I will not return there again). They have already missed out on a maintenance cycle and a significant repair on one of my Toyotas. Interestingly, several friends of mine in the past have tried to purchase a car from Bernardi Toyota and had issues which they told me about, but I really wanted to try to do business with them given my happiness with their service department. My goal here is to make sure others don't make the mistake of trying to buy a car from Bernardi Toyota. read more

So far I have only gotten my oil changed here a few times, and I just really wanted to comment on the customer service here...it's really top notch. Everyone is super nice and attentive, from the people who pick up my car as I drive into the garage, to the customer service person, to whoever else I have ever dealt with. I just think it's so important to have this trait in any business, and this place has it every time. I hate going to get my oil changed in gas stations or other auto repair shop places, it's always kind of uncomfortable, half an hour can feel like an eternity. Not here. You can wait in comfy area with chairs and tables where you can read or use your laptop. There are also bathrooms you can use (very convenient). They have coffee and tea provided as well. Oh, and wi-fi. I've had to wait an hour and a half before for my services to be complete (which is standard for an oil change there), but it really didn't feel that long at all. read more

I spent almost an entire day making a deal on the car that I wanted and I have only the best things to say about Jeff, my sales rep. He was very attentive, realistic, and on top of things. It was his day off when I was picking up my new car, however, he called to make sure that I am all set for the pick up and after to make sure I was happy with my delivery! I recently purchased a used car here from out of state. The Salesman (Dell) and Sales Manager (Nick) were very professional from the start to the finish of my sale. I would buy from this dealership again based on fair pricing in contrast to other dealerships. Most dealers I spoke with were more concerned about using there "In House" financing so they could make a few extra $$$$$ on my sale. This was not the case here and they gained a customer for future purchases in the future. The other good thing is they have other dealerships around the area. After reading some of the other prior posts on this dealership I didn't think they played games as others in the local area of Framingham/Worcester that I visited. I recently had to have my car inspected and my oil changed. I was embarrassed to bring my car in because the interior was COVERED in dog hair, but....I needed the sticker and didn't have time to clean it before I brought it in. To my surprise, they found a mouse's nest (at least I hope it was a mouse....one of the few rodents I'm ok with) in my blower motor. It got in by chewing a hole through one of my fender liners, which they replaced. Not only did they clean the mouse mess, they washed and vacuumed my car!! They also replaced a visor that was recalled that I had forgotten about. They had the fender liner and visor in stock so they were able to do the repairs without any delay. I feel they were extremely thorough in checking out my car and would not hesitate to bring either of my Toyotas back. read more

I bought a used Toyota Camry 2007, 7 months ago. I walked in with $14,000 in CASH..... I know strange, but true. I was also 8 months pregnant and needed a new car. When I picked the car up it was dirty inside and out and not even ready for me to pick up!! should have been my red flag. Got the car home, no floor mats, no manual. Took me 2 weeks to get floor mats...Today I go get my first oil change at my garage I have been doing business with for years. They told me I need 4 new tires!!! I have driven in the car only for a few months as I have been house bound with a new baby. So, as I only had this car a few months I decided to go back to this dealership, I explained the situation, the guy in service was rude and not helpful and neither was the used sales manager, i bought the car off. There attitude was "well if you put it in for inspection it would pass" they offered NOTHING in return. NOTHING.... not discount on tires, NOTHING.......I was disgusted....I left.... We went here to test drive a corolla. The car dealer, Sal, was very helpful and helped my wife feel comfortable through the process. We made a offer on the car she test drove and they thought it was fair so agreed to it...NO HAGGLING!!!! They were great in answering all my questions and Sal was amazing, calling me a few days after the sale to check on how we like the car. Only reason they did not get 5 stars is that we had to wait for almost 2 hours for the financial person as two of the three of them were out. Once we got in the interest rate she offered us was higher than expected but she fixed that in a few minutes. Overall the experience was great. Sal and Bernardi Toyota shattered my negative stereotype of car dealers and dealerships. read more

"Negotiations" were very smooth and the whole process moved along very quickly. We never felt pressured or like we were being taken advantage of. Do not deal with Bernardi Toyota of Framingham. There's a reason why their average Yelp rating is so low. My friend and I went to this dealer, since my friend wanted to buy a car. I was asked to come along to help, since I have purchased many cars and I have reviewed many dealers and cars over the years. Upon entering, a sales person ran over and asked what we wanted. My friend told him what types of cars she liked, so he brought us over to a used Prius. After trying it out, and my friend telling the salesman that she wanted to think it over for a day or so, he badgered her into putting down a deposit. He also said he had to have $1000, $2000, or $3000 as a deposit. I told him $500 would have to do, and I said she would only do so under these conditions if she could get a refund easily and quickly if she decided to cancel the deal within several business days. He said she can cancel the deal for any reason and she would be refunded her $500 the same day. He guaranteed it over and over. She gave a $500 deposit. I asked if we would be given two sets of key remotes and the manual. The sales person jumped in and said, "only one key is provided for all used cars, and only new cars come with two sets of keys". More lies. After I challenged it, he walked away and came back 5 minutes later with both keys. That night two unexpected things happened. We found out some very bad personal news that would definitely effect this purchase, and my friend looked over the car in question more closely before we left. It had many deep scratches, a crashed bumper, some side swipes and bangs, and numerous large scrapes. After the deposit and purchase agreement was completed, the sales person changed the warrantee period left on the car. He told us it had two full years left, but in fact it was just one. They tried selling her a bogus dealer warrantee that didn't even cover the power battery. They first priced one of them at $2600 and then a different warrantee for $1600. The fine print said it all. After learning all three of these things later in the day, she decided to cancel the deal on the next business day. We went back to the dealer and we were told it was perfectly fine to cancel and that my friend's $500 would be refunded the next day. He said it could take 1 to 2 days at most to be processed as a credit back on the card that was used. Quite different than what we were told before giving them the $500. However, we got no refund the first day, second day, third day, or fourth day. On the fifth day still no refund. When I called them about the refund, I was told no one handles that, and everyone played dumb. The sales person totally lied that a refund would be done the same day it would be requested. In fact, there is still no refund 5 days later. This dealership believes it is fine to lie most of the time. They lied about the warrantee. They lied about the keys. They lied about the same day refund. Who knows what else they lie about. There are so many complaints logged about this dealer. Apparently, they do not intend to refund the deposit. This Monday, we will issue a complaint to the MA Attorney General's Office on Consumer Affairs. I have worked with them before, and they really do take these things seriously. I called the service dept. at 9:30 am because my RF tire was losing air. I was given an appointment for 10:00 am. My tire was repaired and I was on my way home by 11:00 am. I first went to Bernardi in November of 2013 to test drive a new Prius. That day I met Sal Sassone as my potential salesman and we hit it off immediately. He was funny and laid back yet informative throughout. I had a great experience driving the car all over and communicating with him in the following weeks... The holidays came and I got really busy with family and work. Fast forward to late January and I decided that I really wanted to buy a slightly used Prius. I contacted Sal about a particular model, went in the next night to drive it and within 3 days it was mine. You walk in the service door and agree to pay $119 before they even look at your car. They spent two days looking at my car, to the tune of $476 (mind you, the "master" mechanic gave my car all his attention) and I left without a true repair, simply a band aid to stop the battery drain. 5 days later my battery was again drained and all they offered was to look at again. No refund, no solution. After my negative survey response I received a condescending email from the customer relations rep suggesting that the problem was new and taking no responsibility whatsoever for their incompetence. My local mechanic spent as much time on my car locating the source of the problem but was unable to finish the repair as it required factory software to reset the circuits. When I offered to pay him his response was, "I don't get paid for not fixing your car." If only Bernardi had such integrity. read more

Great experience at this dealership! My lease was up and I originally leased with Copeland. It's a drag for me to get to Brockton and they wouldn't give me any quotes by phone, so I decided to check a few dealerships closer to me. Bernardi was hands down the best and most pleasant experience. I contacted them and told them my budget. They didn't try to force me to me to come and waste my time arguing about quotes, keep me there for three hours, and have me walk out with nothing (happened at 2 other dealerships!). Everyone at Bernardi, on the phone and in person, was professional and respectful of my time and my money. They called me back with an affordable quote, I went in and signed a lease less than 1 hour later for the quote they told me!!!! This is almost unheard of in a car business! Aydin, the sales rep, was very friendly, helpful and non-imposing, without that car-sales-y vibe that we, the regular citizens, despise so much. Everyone I talked to was super-nice and seemed to genuinely want to help me. I picked up my car a couple of days later - a day earlier than they originally told me! Stay away especially if your a woman. They think you automatically know nothing about cars and add on a bunch of crap that doesn't exist or doesn't need to be fixed in order to jack up the bill. Almost every time my mother's been there they tried to screw her over. Luckily my dad knows about cars so she checks with him every time and he'll tell her what's true and what's not. They once said the tread on her tires were worn out and needed to be changed. we took it to Monroe Tires and they showed us the print out of the tire treads and he said they were perfectly fine. Also, other dealerships have fixed things for free that they overcharge for. And if theycan't find the problem they'll send you off and say that they fixed it when they haven't done anything. read more

Brought my 2017 Toyota Highlander into Bernardi for an oil change as well as battery replacement. They informed me that they only had 2 types of batteries. One for $99 and another for $149. I opted for the $99 one considering my lease will be up in a few months. About an hour later they called me saying that my battery replacement will cost $399. Apparently, because my car is a "smart"car and has the start and stop feature when your stopped at a red light, the battery costs more. After doing research I found out a comparable battery for my car is about $200. I opted to go to auto zone for the battery. After all, these are uncertain times and not sure what tomorrow is going to bring. When I opened the hood of my car I also found that they neglected to top off my fluids during my oil change. Namely my anti freeze! I wouldn't be as upset if we were talking about windshield fluid, but were talking the anti freeze!!! I'm done with Bernardi Toyota. Once you sign on the dotted line...they could care less about the customer! The only reason they are even getting 1 star is because the rep I dealt with was sympathetic and doing his best to help us out. After all, this wasn't his fault, I blame the mechanic and company in general. Buyer beware! Lesson learned!! I will never buy another vehicle from Bernardi! Don't need the frustration!! read more

If I can give zero rating I would. it was the worst buying experience I have ever had. They try hard to be competitive with their prices, which is why alot of people would go there to begin with. But they would back out of on certain deals they "promised", they would lie that certain things dont exist and they dont treat their customers/potential clients with respect. I would never go there again. read more
