The best tutoring service possible. This is not only the very best place to bring students for…read moreremedial help but also to keep advanced students at the top of their game. My own son fell into both groups. It must be a statement of the real devotion of the tutors at Hilltop that he actually enjoyed and anticipated the meetings. His tutors not only improved his work but led him into new and advanced areas that added extra polish and excitement to his outlook. They are the very best I have seen and as an educator myself (college professor 15 years at Ivy League colleges) I have seen a lot. The communication and staff are really extraordinary. A+

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dave Lemmon and Hilltop Tutoring in general. Dave worked…read morewith my daughter to improve her reading comprehension & grammar scores for the ACT. She improved dramatically. Her ACT composite score went up from a 31 to a 35! We owe it all to Dave! Without his incredible guidance and support, my daughter would never have achieved this success. Dave was also an incredible help with the college application process. He helped my daughter create the best essay possible for her common application. Dave wrote us summary notes and suggestions after every session. His follow through and dedication were truly exceptional. The team at Hilltop is amazing and we owe all of our daughter's success to Dave Lemmon and the entire Hilltop Tutoring team. Thank you!

I sent my two daughters to this school. They were in pre-school 2 and 3. The first thing that…read moremade me feel something was wrong was the abnormally high teacher turnover (7 different teachers in less than a year). Granted this was during COVID but none of the other schools had such a high turnover. It was also messy, disorganized and their communication was horrible. I think could have lived with all that. However, my 3 year old came home with a black eye one day. She told me that "Ms Yin Li kicked her in the face with her foot because she was angry that she would not fall asleep during nap time". When I called the school the next day to ask what happened, the principal, owner and other staff, tried to give me 100 theories as to what could have happened to her (she must have bumped herself against the cot, she probably hit herself against the bench because kids fight for the red bench, it happened outside of school, etc) instead of focusing on what my child was saying. I tried to have the school press charges against Yin Li, but she had already also resigned and they told me it was "too late" (maybe 5 weeks had passed since the incident) so I decided to file a complaint with the state (which came back inconclusive but at least I reported and recorded the incident). Please don't send your kids to this place, there are other much better schools in the area. I met up with one of the parents a few weeks ago and about 80% of the kids moved on to other schools as well. My name is May Hou, and everything in this message is true.

My son has been going to the Livingston location now for two years, and he definitely loves it. We…read moreare in PreK-3 now, he loves the teachers and his new friends. The teachers are extremely nurturing and attentive to the children. I have nothing but great things to say to others when people ask me about that school. We will definitely keep him in this school till he is ready for public.

Hello, I wanted to…read moreshare something that's been weighing on me. I used to work as a nanny for a family whose child attends Immerson. I appear to be a Black woman, and I often wrap my hair mainly because I'm very active and like to keep it clean and protected. Occasionally, I wear it out. I understand that, at times, my appearance may lead people to assume I'm Muslim, which may explain some of the behavior I've encountered. While I try not to take offense or view myself as a victim, I've felt some subtle but persistent discriminatory energy from staff at the school. On multiple occasions, I've noticed I'm made to wait even after others arrive after me. I always stand several feet back from the door out of respect for the school's boundaries, yet just this week, when I asked for the little one I care for, I was told "Stop! Stop!" as if I was trying to force my way in. I wasn't even close to the door and had no intention of entering unless explicitly needed. The reaction felt disproportionate and a bit alarming. They also once scurried the little one I picked up half way out the door. The door then began closing on her as the teacher turned their back to get back to the classroom. That was very wild to see and experience. It also was dangerous for the child. I've also observed that most of the staff I've interacted with appear to be Latina or of East Asian descent, often with strong accents. Even the director seems to have limited communication in English. While I respect all cultures deeply, I also know unfortunately that classism, colorism, and other forms of bias can exist in every community. What's been equally disheartening is the behavior modeled at pickup. A couple of parents skip ahead in line, don't ask who was next, and fail to engage in even basic courtesy. The teachers witness who arrives first, but this doesn't seem to be acknowledged. Families often ask me for recommendations on schools that emphasize not just academic excellence, but empathy, kindness, and true character development not just performative values. Sadly, based on what I've experienced, I would not feel comfortable directing them to Immerson.
