FACILITY (CEDAR GROVE LOCATION) - The building was right next to a police academy and definitely not as commercialized as the other shooting range I've been to. There were no individual booths and they just had tables set up in the middle of the range. The open space also meant a lot of echoing and louder POPs! They gave everyone foam ear plugs (which was sufficient for me) and only had a few earmuffs. There was a total of 19 of us and we got to try 4 different handguns. Over the course of 2 hours we had to get in line and I got to shoot 6 times (30 rounds). Also got to reload twice. INSTRUCTORS - Very friendly staff who gave good feedbacks when I asked for it :) They went over all the important safety issues in the beginning but didn't really cover aiming/focusing (instead we got a little card with picture illustrations). It would help A LOT for those first-timers if the instructors had gone into detail a little more before we start shooting. *You also don't get your own individual target at this place so it gets hard to tell where you were hitting when you're sharing with 5 other people. I wish the experience was more instructional but overall we had a great time!

This is a school for performing & Fine Arts such Greats are products of this school, such as Sarah Vaughn, Melba Moore, Tisha Campbell, Savion Glover & the list goes on; this is the place where talent is enhanced & perfected. Some go to Arts High because the arts is a hobby, others because they long for a future in the industry; some pursue their passion, while others go on to do other things. The best memories I have of Arts High is the friendships and bonds that were built. I have fond memories of Fashion Shows, Winter Concerts, Dance Performances, Photography, Artist; just being in the mist of such great talent hailing from this City with a reputation, you can't even imagine the competitiveness, yet love. We had our ups & downs and after revisiting, it's great to see the improvements that were made over the years, I am so proud & honored to say this place is one of the best schools in Newark for so many reasons. If I lived in Newark & my child was in high school, this is where I would want them to go.
