I dealt with John and Sal. John for Sales and Sal was my Concealed Carry course instructor. First off, John prioritizes "coming in person" over electronics- IT'S WORTH IT. John is remarkably endearing, knowledgeable, and I got a sense that he wants everyone that comes in through his doors to succeed. In person, he can give you the best prices, talk you through situations that you think might hinder your chances for a license, and he offers opportunities to expand your license and skillset. I'm confident that I will do my future endeavors in his establishment. Sal, the instructor, is a stand-up man. I couldn't imagine a better person to teach the class. He goes at a leveled pace, checks-in to make sure everyone is caught up, and class participation is mandatory with Sal making the environment more engaging and wanting to come back. YOU WILL GET MORE out of the class if you stick with your saved consecutive dates. He will teach you how to handle your weapon and the laws. However, Sal will also teach about needing a strong moral compass, patience, and a clear mind when carrying. In conclusion, Sal is impeccably thorough and you will learn a lot more than the average class which will only have you more comfortable using or not using your weapon. read more

Just had a great tour of the range and conversation with John. I even became a member, lot of knowledge in this place and I recommend it to anyone. read more

Johnny Guns was excellent at explaining instructions and giving great insight. I am a new member to the range can't wait until I go back. I

Clean, modern facility. Excellent, knowledgeable staff. Top notch training in all aspects of responsible gun ownership. Review of applicable gun laws and review by an attorney. Huge menu fresh food, friendly service and family atmosphere. Valet parking available.

i took a class for a CCL and it was extremely informative. the class was interactive and fun. Will Lugo was very knowledgeable and made the class fun. in addition I have never seen a better shot then Lugo! hit the bullseye with every shot. the class also includes 6 months of range access. we also had an attorney come in and explain all of the rules and regulations so we don't find ourselves in a situation we don't want to be in. highly recommend ! read more

John has been extremely helpful. Since NY has been forced to recognize 2nd ammendment rights and allow concealed carry, a 16 hour class is required. John's range offers many class options for premise, concealed carry, security guards etc. and is willing to answer any questions about the process. Most helpful was a presentation by a lawyer with real world experience in firearms litigation. The firing range was recently given a complete update. Thank you John, Will & Greg! read more

Seneca Sporting Range - Grouping of 5 - Firearm Training Near Me - Ridgewood, New York

I was actually recommended to john from a good friend and i must say that the servic was amazing. First thing I was ask. was some information on my history. I was then given a list of documents that was needed to proceed with my application. when I returned with all my documents I then gave them in to Vicky and she then explain step by step what was going to happen next . I was put in for the next step witch was the 16hr course with William Lugo. i must say that for a 16hr class course William covered so much and did a great job with explaining all detail. He planed out the class perfectly in my opinion. BTW I feel like their fee are not bad. Such a great sporting rang , they can help you with all your need, They have a range and also sale firearms. Highly recommend!!! With come back for my other sa classes and firearms classes! read more

Excellent service fast and to the point with great space for shooting a clean environment and nice area

Very tired and mean old man, stay away if you can. If you're looking for an affordable NYCC class check out Alan over at nyconcealedcarry.com, it's only 400 bucks and flexible with timing. He's much friendly than John. John feels he can talk to people any kind of way and we're suppose to still patronize him. read more

I'm looking forward to shooting my H & K 45 ACP pistol next month. It is such a pleasure to see John and new patrons at the range, perhaps maybe he can orde me a Rugerhunter Blued 22LR pistol. read more

Went there to get my gun license because I was recommended this place by a good friend of mine. John is a really nice guy, but hes old school. He expects you to sit and listen. This is a good thing especially for someone like me who hasn't shot in a few years and wants to understand how the paperwork is being filed and what all the rules and regulations are in NYC. He is an expert and has been in the business for a long time. The range looks nice, I was there on a day when they were hosting some sort of training and it seemed pretty nice. When I started shooting I'll update the review to include my impressions of the range itself. Thanks for the help and patience John! Much appreciated. Highly recommended if you want a professional to help you navigate NYC's draconian gun laws. read more

I went to this range to take the required New York State gun safety course and it was very informative and the instructors were great. I will go back when I have to renew my license again read more

John who helped me checking forms I filled up barely replies to my emails and not returns to my calls after I wrote him a check. TOO BAD!!! Now, I got a disapproval letter because I did not know I have to disclose minor domestic incidents recorded as perp in verbal disputes. Help - need NYC pistol permit attorney I guess. Anyone to recommend? read more

Like a previous reviewer stated, the owner of the range answers the phone like he's waking up from a drinking binge. Every time you call, you think you have the wrong number. I gave this place multiple chances since I live in the area, but I just can't get past the unprofessionalism on the phone. read more

Just got off the phone with the man who answers the phone at this place. It was like I accidentally called a wrong number. Just a straight up d***. This man should not be allowed to interact with customers. Definitely will be looking elsewhere to purchase a firearm. read more

The range is great for what it is intended for. Came for a tour a few months back to decide if it was a good fit for me going forward when I get my premise license. Since it's so close to my house I figured why not check it out. The owner John is very nice and insightful. The ballistic rubber down range and awesome ventilation throughout the building is also a nice touch. John let me know he would be renovating in order to make it more cozy for his members. I'm definitely coming back upon completing my license application! read more

John is friendly and a straight shooter. The range is serviceable however the operation hours simply does not fit my schedule as it operates between 3pm-7pm Mon-Thurs, 9am to 3 PM on Sat. And closes on Friday and Sunday. The annual range fee is 300. John let me shoot in the range and also gave me targets to shoot. After I decided not the join and ask what do I own him he said not thing since o brought my Ammo to shoot. I really wish hours were longer to justify the price. read more

Found Seneca to be very helpful in offering advice to people seeking a gun license (in New York's ridiculous labyrinth of gun laws). They offer a great range of services, including armed guard training school, and a range for members to shoot. I had a lot of fun shooting a .22 pistol and my only disappointment was that there was no zombie target ;) Perhaps next time. Clean, minimalist range, that's conveniently 2 blocks from the L train. read more

The owner was extremely nice unfortunately the range was outdated and dangerous. I was hit with a ricochet from my 45acp. At no point should any round come back. I'm just happy I was able to walk out. I should've know since there was not one person shooting. I didn't listen to the rumors about it. I just wanted to try it myself I say no way is that possible plus John was so nice errrrr I was wrong. John nice range bad. Sorry for the bad review but my leg is killing me thank god it didn't penetrate. read more

John whom I believe is the owner, is very knowledgeable, friendly and gets the license done,in a city that's very preoccupied with not giving you one. read more

I called to find out hours of operation (it was new years day) and to get some details on the range and gun shop. He picked up the phone with "Hello" So I of course had to ask if this was Seneca Sporting Range? He said yes what do you need then when I asked a question he was offended by me asking a question and curtly said call back another time and hung up. Will never see a dime of my money read more

AWFUL! Thieves! This place Robbed me out of over $1,000, after paying for a arms certificate course, the 42 hour one (in cash). I was waiting for the state to approve my application and once cancelled they said they couldn't return the money but once I got approval from the state then I could come back and shoot with them. I received no contract or formal receipt ...just a business card. Then when I returned to ask my money back they said that they won't do it, so I basically just gave them $1,000 and no course time. read more

I ordered a shotgun from Grabagun l.com and had it delivered to this location. A week later I went to pick it up, the place was closed until 3pm. Called the number on the website to inquire about the shotgun and spoke to I'm assuming the owner. He tells me he shipped the gun back because it's illegal in NY. I stated I was a federal officer and that he should've called me before returning it.. last time I ever do business with this sorry excuse for a business.. so now I have to pay 15% restocking fee and shipping with no gun.. horrible service and waste of time and money. read more

the guy on the phone was pretty rude and didn't even let me finish my question before saying, "Go to West Side" [referring to the pistol range], and hanging up. read more

Horrible gun range. Came here to get my armed security license a couple of years back. Its like an antique shop inside, so you think you are walking into a furniture store at first glance. The machinery is broken usually so your target is always falling, and some of the tracks dont even operate. Make a trip tp Nassau if you want to shoot. read more

I had no prior experience in the world of handguns. After I got my license, the owner, John D. gave me a great price on my first gun. He spent time with me teaching me safety and how to shoot. I increased my accuracy within a couple of weeks. The facility is clean, well vented, and comfortable to shoot in. I researched and visited other ranges in Queens and your not going to find a better price for a membership. read more
