The price and timeline were reasonable. Jim showed up on the day he said he would and was done in by lunchtime, overall we are happy with the results. Just a couple of things that I was a little disappointed in. There was a lot of old caulking from the previous walls which was hard to remove. When Jim put the new caulk in for the new walls it mixed in with the old caulking so I cant get rid of it all. Also the plumber was supposed to look at the drain to make sure everything was working properly, Jim forgot to remind him and told me he called him but I have not heard from him

We visited many showrooms, including the most advertised on TV. We were excited by the designs offered, but a little taken back by the price. Jim and his Berkshire Bathworks crew were contacted and promptly arrived to assess our needs and give us a price. The price was competitive with the national chains. It was NOT a one day installation, but Jim was very forthcoming about the actual time frame for completion. Every question and concern we had was addressed. The time frame was off by a couple of weeks due to the special order of the glass shower enclosure. [It arrived with the installation holes on the wrong end of the glass, hey, it happens. The last time I made a mistake was 1957] Jim went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. The job is beautiful and a complete makeover. We are very happy with the outcome. One last thought, my wife fell and broke her hip two weeks ago. I called Jim on Tuesday, 01/01/19, about installing a grab bar in both bathrooms. He was here this morning, 01/03/19, and installed two new grab bars and would not take any compensation. He is a gentleman and a meticulous worker. I cannot recommend Berkshire Bathworks more highly. They are the best.

If it were an option, I would give Lee Tile and Stone zero stars…read more My wife and I are remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms. We had seen some ideas that we liked, and expected to receive some help with stone and tile selections at Lee Tile. Upon entering, we wandered around for a time while the young woman was on the phone. When she had completed her call, she continued to ignore us, and when we asked for help, it seemed that we were interrupting her day. We told her what we are looking to do, and after only about 2 minutes, she told us that if we had pictures of the things we liked, to email them and they would 'take a look'. At that point she just pointed us toward some samples and told us that if we had any questions, to ask. Well, we had a lot of questions, but it was obvious that she wasn't the person to be dealing with. We since found a place in the Capital District that has done a great job in investigating our needs and recommending solutions. Since our experience a couple months ago, we have heard similar opinions form others who have been frustrated with their lack of service. Unfortunately, we would suggest avoiding Lee Tile.

We reordered a higher quality piece and we were very happy about that. Bob and his expert team of installers (all 4 of them) were most professional and courteous and very knowledgeable. And before the delivery, their tech John in the shop was very helpful asking for input about where to make the cut, confirming other details on the order; he was great as well. And Dawn was very helpful and patient and knowing how to multitask with her clients. They earned their 5 Stars as they offer the best service, expertise, price, caring about their customers. We are thrilled with the superb work of Kitchen and Bath World from beginning to end. We renovated…read moretwo bathrooms in quite different styles. The first is simple and contemporary, the second involved an intricate pattern of colorful tiles forming wall-size images. Sara worked with us on the design, asking many questions to understand our aesthetic aims and practical needs, and offering a variety of options for us to choose among to achieve our goals. She also provided a variety of very effective ideas and solutions, considering the physical constraints of the (relatively small) spaces, to ensure the best use of spaces and to create a very open feel in both bathrooms, all in a cost-effective manner. The actual construction was done in an extremely professional manner by workers who were not only highly-skilled but also friendly, considerate of our needs, and responsive to our questions and concerns as the projects progressed. Particularly impressive, amazing really, was the tile work performed by Cliff. The colorful bathroom involved laying more than 1,000 tiles, and cutting more than 100 tiles to create the intricate design. It also involved the fitting of the many tiles to very close tolerance specifications. Cliff was both masterful and highly conscientious in completing this tile work. The result is stunning. In addition, along the way in both bathrooms, specific questions arose about alternative approaches to implementing features of the design. Cliff identified and raised these questions for us to think about, and he offered aesthetically pleasing solutions. In short, Cliff's work was thoughtful, technically masterful, and informed by his strong sense of aesthetic beauty. We are most impressed by Kitchen and Bath World for their general approach, their implementation, and the final product in renovating both bathrooms. Kitchen and Bath World has our highest recommendation.

They sent an installer who, by their own admission had complaints against him and they never checked on his work. We have had problems ever since. The second installer remarked how badly the job had been done including finding an empty hole under the installed floor boards. We are still having problems with the floor and ,sure, they will fix it for even more money. But how much and how many years will it take since it wasn't properly installed to begin with, Don G.

Here is the story of the 5 cancelled install dates. 1) 24 hours ahead of of the installations date, they canceled because the installer hurt his back. Normally wouldn't be a problem, but we had Air BnB guests arriving 36 hours later, so we lost that $500. They rescheduled it for a month later (their next avail date). 2) A month later: CHRIS, the installer shows up with a second guy. He looks at the stairs leading up to the room, and said, "no one told me there were stairs. I hurt my back, I can't go up stairs." He also mentioned to us he loves working in our neighborhood. The last time he worked here, he got a $250 tip, and his crew got tips too........ it was VERY uncomfortable for me and my wife. I've never had a guy ask for a huge tip on a job he hadn't even started on. 3) Chris comes back a week later with a different guy to help with the stairs. Chris goes up stairs and says: "I can't do this job, you have a bed and two chairs in the room. I am not a mover." I explain to him we had to put the bed up there for family friends that had been staying over since he cancelled that last time, and when Joe Jr. bid the job, there was some furniture in the room. Chris didn't care, he wasn't lifting the furniture. But he said he would come back in 24 hours or the following Saturday if the room was cleared. I told him my son and I would do it, and it would be ready the next morning. It took me and my son 10 minutes to move the bed and chairs. 4) the next day, Chris doesn't show up or call. I assume he will then make his second promised date, the following Saturday. 5) The next Saturday, he doesn't show up. He doesn't answer his cell phone. When I text him to ask where he is, he says he is in Cape Cod. He tells me if I have a problem, call Joe. I call Joe. Joe is not there. Joe Sr. says he doesn't know anything about my job, and that they can install my carpets in 3-4 weeks with a different crew. When I tell him I have already waited 5 weeks, and they have missed FIVE appointments, Joe says he doesn't know anything about that. But (and get this) *if i stop complaining*, I can get my installation finally done in 3-4 weeks. 6) About a month later, a very nice crew came and did the job. No one from the Floor Store ever called to see if I was happy or offered to apologize. It took FIVE missed appointments, one attempted shake-down for tips, and 8-10 weeks from the original installation date, but it's done. We have never heard from Joe or anyone at The Floor Store.... other than getting the bill, of course, which was paid in full. Klassy..... UPDATE: Just to clarify, I paid 100% of my bill, despite my experience, and two weeks later, have yet to have the promised response from Joe Jr. explaining how my above review is inaccurate. Again, unless you like to be taken for a ride, or blackmailed into tipping, avoid at all costs... SECOND UPDATE-- despite promises on this site, I have never heard from Joe Jr. He has never replied or addressed any of the above account. He has said, below, he would contact me. Never happened.

At our initial meeting, my wife and I laid out in great detail several projects we needed done. They patiently listened and quickly visualized what we wanted. Rob also gave some creative suggestions and offered to facilitate delivery of materials as our primary home is 2+ hours away. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. The quality of work and attention to detail is top-notch. Moreover, they're just great people. We plan to hire them again for future projects. Highly recommend BigSpan!

My partner Autumn and I had a wonderful experience with Rob & Laura. We can't recommend them enough…read morefor any job, large or small. For context, our project was a full gut renovation of an old home that sat abandoned for 10+ years. Think leaking ceilings, no functional systems, and a crumbling foundation. Rob & Laura were the driving force for the final 4 months of our home's transformation from "very broken" to beautiful and livable. They were supportive of our project in the months leading up, and have continued to stay in touch since they wrapped up. Their to do list included structural changes, door and window swaps, drywall, trim, and full kitchen and bath installs. That's not to mention a massive list of surprise to do's that crop up with any old home renovation. From their first visit, Rob's cool confidence in their ability to bring our home to life never waned. This was a labor of love on our part. Rob & Laura understood and embraced that. They were happy to hear our vision, and translate it into an executable plan. They rocked every detail from necessities like drywall to custom touches like recreating the original curved ceilings and installing handmade tile from floor to ceiling in the primary bathroom. Communication was easy throughout. I was the primary coordinator of other contractors (electric, plumbing etc). We had zero issues with any overlap. Rob & Laura were always flexible, and easy to work with. I also have immense gratitude for their openness to my participation in the process. This is by no means required, but my partner and I strove to jump in wherever we could. This let us reduce the cost on our end, and learn a few things along the way including how to tape drywall and install tile. If you can get on Rob & Laura's calendar, don't hesitate!
