And then there are tennis and basketball courts and then there's a kids play scape for younger kids and we spent so much time at this park. The community center is also very nice and they have plays or other events there. I've seen quite a few events there and have also taken Zumba classes. There's also an area between the two parts of the park that has a stream and picnic tables and we often met groups down there and had celebrations. I've also seen work groups meet there for lunch. My kids loved to go hang out there because there were so many things you can do there. The Parks in Berkeley, in general I find just amazing.

As part of our training, she suggested our team visit a Ninja Warrior-style gym to practice. We had a blast doing the obstacles and learning techniques by watching others. Completed waivers, selected her play time, and purchased my daughter's admission ticket ($24.94) along with a pair of grip Bay Play socks ($4.00) online. A chaperone ticket is required ($0), additional chaperones are $5 each. Adults either wear their own socks or shoe covers inside of play area. On a Monday at 4:30p there was only one other car parked. Inside there was one child at play. As the day went on a couple more children joined. The kids all played together as one, which was heart warming to see. The restrooms are located at the rear of the play space, at the end of the Ninja Warrior Jungle structure. There are two major play structures, one for bigger kids to climb, swing and play, the other for smaller kids to do the same with play tailored to their petite size. There are three jump spaces with two attached to what appears to be VR simulated devices. There are lots of arcade games for the kids to play, at an additional charge. Outside food is not permitted. Small snacks are allowed. There are two vending machines at the entrance of the play area - one drinks and the other snacks. There are four massage chairs for chaperones to exist in while the littles play. It accepts mobile pay and cards. One chaperone was enjoying herself during our time, eyes shut. There are 2-3 tables at the front of Bay Play with 4 additional tables at the rear closest to the restrooms. For $25, our daughter was able to play from the time of arrival to close (7p). This is definitely an option to consider for play dates or to pop in for something to do. It is located on the border of Emeryville and Oakland. Bay Play is embedded within a neighborhood. There is street parking directly in front of the location.

Off the bat, I want to say this is one of the more affordable indoor playgrounds I've been to (some I've gone to will charge for adults?!) and there was no time limit (some places give you a time limit of how long you can play for) so that was a plus. They do require you to purchase their socks (can't be grippy socks from anywhere else) but even with the socks and day pass, I want to say it was only $35? The kids loved running around the swing ropes, the indoor playground with slide, and the big bouncy thingy under the bouldering wall. My only concern about the bouncy thingy by the bouldering wall is there aren't any safety rails or things around it and I can't tell if it's safer with or without it but I definitely needed to stay close by in case he bounced off the entire cushion thingy. If you have highly sensitive little ones or neurodivergent kiddos, this place may be a tad overstimulating with the arcade right smack dab in the middle. Like other reviewers had mentioned, it would be nice if the arcade was slightly away from the physical play so that kids aren't distracted/overstimulated by the arcade screens. We did eventually end our outing at the arcades (spent another $40 on the game card...sigh) but luckily we won a big jackpot from one of the games to make it all worth it! Of note, you can't really wear your shoes in the bathroom which is kinda gross so bear that in mind. All in all, definitely one of the better indoor playgrounds in the Bay Area!

I was invited for a round of golf by my cousin and her husband who are members. I had never heard…read moreof the Richmond Country Club, but it is a members only course. It's been about 8 years since I played regularly, so I am trying to get myself out there and take advantage of the summer, exercise and friendly competition. I arrived early for our late morning tee off, so I found myself at the bar celebrating a pre-birthday mimosa while getting my game face ready. The place was somewhat empty that morning, but the golf course was a steady flow of players. Without a drivable cart, we were lagging behind others who had one and were better - so we tried to hurry up and let others play through to catch up. Overall everyone was nice and the timing worked out. After 9 holes, there's a snack shack with sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cold beer and beverages. It's like the reward you've been waiting for. I had a nice cold Lagunitas IPA and hung out with my family enjoying the scenery. I had a blast at Richmond Country Club and look forward to going back again after a few more rounds of practice.

Update: a few people have written me asking about my review over the years and why i would…read morerecommend not joining the club. While i do think the course is great, (except for holes 2-4, which are kinda shoehorned in) Mike Iker and the board that support him at Richmond are completely incompetent. There was an incident where a very rich, very well connected group hit into ours over and over again. There was a confrontation, and because a guest of a member in my group used a curse word toward the group that had hit into us and cursed at us multiple times, we were asked to write a formal apology to the group that went out of their way to try to injure us and also be jerks. When i met with the board, other members were on my side and explained to "mr" Iker that he was clearly wrong and that if anyone should apologize, it was the other group. He was unrelenting and in the end, six of the younger members ended up leaving the club because we were harassed by the group in question, and by Mike himself. I received apologies from the GM and the head of sales, who were both very nice, for Mike's behavior, and multiple people have apologized to me since. I could see rejoining the club if i got an apology from mike and the club, and a clear outline of how they hope to change, but i generally dont hold my breath on stubborn cowards doing the right thing. edit: Mike emailed me after I wrote this review to awkwardly, cowardly, and sarcastically thank me for my feedback. I don't think there is anything on earth that sums him and the club up as well as that. You're welcome for saving you all from these sad husks of excuses for men.

We sucked but took it in stride and still had a really good. Currently there are 6 gaming rooms, though more rooms are in the works. The games offered in each room change depending on how many people are in your group. And there are different levels, so once you beat the game, you can return to the same room to advance to the next level. If you fail, you leave the room for it to reset and then can return to try again as many times as you want. I'd never done escape rooms or anything like this, and was really impressed at the sophistication and technology. You get 1 hour and 45 minutes to play, and time flies fast. Came on a Friday night at 8pm and there were only about 2 other groups. Free parking in lot. The man showing us around (Tim?) was really nice. Overall a great experience to try. I'll be back with other friends for sure.

My driver drove me to the front door and all the golfers hanging around maybe preferred golf carts only? Then post a sign. Besides that lack of a warm welcome, everything else turned out beautifully. Great buffet food, friendly bar service, ample dance floor. My friends did an amazing job with planning and decorations and we had about 100 classmates show up. Everyone looked pretty good for being 40 years older! A great time was had by all.
