This place is incredible. You can't go wrong with any of their massage therapists I have had only good experiences. I moved down south in Denver but I keep driving back to the highlands to see them. I love their online booking system where you can usually get in a couple of hours if needed. On more than one occasion they have fixed terrible neck/back spasms. I received a superb massage from Rick today. This was my 2nd massage with him and I am very pleased with the results. I've been having a great deal of pain in my neck and shoulder area. Doctors have been no help. He was able to tell me why I'm having this pain and gave me at home stretches to do. The doctors just gave me narcotics and no answers. I will be returning regularly to help prevent the pain from occurring again. It's a far better choice that allowing myself to get addicted to narcotics like big pharma wants. read more

I've never encountered a "health care practitioner" with such a rude and negative attitude! I was 10 minutes late for my appointment because of how far away it is from my home and the fact that I'm new to the Denver area. Kim Lebrun was so nasty and accusatory that it was easy for me to tell her that I didn't like her attitude. The best part of our interaction was when she said that it was OK, I didn't need to use her services. Thank you!! Another weird thing is that she told me that she schedules her clients every half hour for acupuncture, and therefore I only would have 20 minutes of treatment time. So an additional "never" is that I haven't ever had an acupuncture appointment that has only lasted 30 minutes. But the best "never" of all is that I will "never," ever see Kim Lebrun again!!! read more

Scott is very knowledgeable about eastern medicine, is a great listener and is always willing to explain every detail about what he does. I'd never had acupuncture, but was in significant sciatica pain that was preventing me from sleeping for a week. I saw Kim LeBrun for my initial exam and 60 minute treatment, and amazingly, the pain was nearly gone. I can't say or point to one bad thing regarding Berkeley Community Acupuncture in Denver. It has a clean environment, warm setting, and very caring and knowledgeable people. I have been to a few other clinics and this one is the best one I've been to thus far. No need to look anywhere else either. These folks care, bottom line. Found this place on Yelp, and they were great! I tend to plan things last minute... and I was happy to find availability on a Saturday for 2 massages, when Wednesday the week prior rolled around. The best part was the option to make reservations online, and choose your therapist based on their profiles! I selected Nick due to the yelp reviews, and he was great. Super friendly, perfect amount of pressure, got out all the little knots in my back and made me feel very relaxed. My husband had Christy, who was fantastic also! She worked a lot on his calf muscles (who knew?) since he's been running a lot, and he really enjoyed that. Overall the service and people are fantastic! This is not the most upscale, classy "spa" setting - just your basic rooms with massage tables. The most important thing to me is the noise level, and with a fan running and quiet music, I couldn't hear anything else so that was perfect. Your first time massage is $39 which is great, and I think it's $60 for 60 minutes after that, totally worth it! read more

I first walked in the doors when BCA was pretty new to the area. I had never had acupuncture before but I was curious to see why so many of my friends swore by it. Andy instantly put me at ease as he explained the healing properties of acupuncture as well as his own background and expertise. We decided to focus the treatments on my chronically tight neck and shoulder muscles. I had basically given up on trying to heal my muscles since all other methods I've tried failed to work for me. After a relaxing 45 minute session, I walked out the doors in what felt like a new body. I was and still am amazed at the nearly instantaneous healing powers of acupuncture. Andy and Scott have created a welcoming and comfortable environment that's super clean to boot. Nothing but praise from me. BCA accepts most major insurance policy's but for those who policy's don't cover it or have no insurance at all, their sliding pay scale is such a thoughtful option to make it more affordable for the rest of us. read more

I went here for acupuncture and cupping a couple of weeks ago and had a brutal experience. I have a bunch of back issues and got acupuncture along my spine. Well the woman who put them in left me for about 30+ minutes after inserting the needles and I was in pain the entire time. I tried to slightly adjust a little bit to get in a more comfortable position. Every time I did this the pain got worse. I tried taking deep breaths to calm down and once again it made it worse (I found out later that deep breathing can make the needles go deeper in). I thought about literally yelling for help. When you're in a lot of pain and physically cannot move it's a pretty awful experience. Not to mention the amount of time I was left is a safety issue for a place that does acupuncture. Finally, the woman who did the treatment just kept saying how excited she was to leave to walk her dogs with the nice weather. If I was a business I would not be telling customers how excited I am not to be essentially not be doing their job anymore, specially when you're have needles inserted into your body. Not a professional experience and not a safe experience. This isn't my first time here but it'll definitely be my last. read more

Andy has been my go-to guy for acupuncture for the past year since I moved here from the E Coast. My massage therapist of several years closed her business about 9 months ago. I was recently in a minor bike accident where I tweaked my back and wanted to find someone in the local area. Living in the Berkeley neighborhood, I decided to check out Berkeley Community Acupucture and Massage. Within the course of three massages, Nicholas has helped my back injury immeasurably. He is truly an expert therapist who really knows how to best help his clients. The whole practice is very well run. Their online scheduler is the best I've seen (easy to use, accurate) and makes scheduling my massages so convenient. I love Berkeley Community Acupuncture and Massage! I started out getting pre-natal massages from Jamie, but, once I learned the great benefits of massage, I continued to get regular massages after I had my baby. And then I had another baby, got pre-natal massages again, and, of course, continued going regularly after my second baby was born. Everyone there is incredibly professional and very friendly --you almost feel like family! They are great at what they do, and the atmosphere is wonderfully pleasant. I love Jamie as a masseuse, and she really takes the time to figure out what type of massage would be best at any given time (from stress relief to a to pain relief). My mother-in-law has visited almost all the masseuses there and says they are all great. Andy is a wonderful owner and welcomes everyone with such a calm and caring demeanor.
