WARNING: BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY Beware of using this company for ANY cabinets, tile or stone work. I was searching for a cabinet maker to build cabinets for our home on the Oregon coast. I did not want to purchase pre-built cabinets. I happened upon Bergerson Tile one day and decided to go in and see what they had to offer. I met with their sales person Carrie. A delightful women who I became very close to during our time creating our kitchen cabinets, granite island, quartz counter top and back splash, along with the master bath cabinets, counter top and complete tile flooring and tile shower. We also created a wall of bookshelves for our game room. The particulars were all written up in our contract to include the PAINTED and STAINED colors for all our cabinets and bookshelves. I purposely typed those two words in all caps and will explain later. The creation and choices took several months. And then the surprises came. They do not install their own cabinets even though their website said they did (website since changed to exclude the installation of cabinets). In fact, they don't immediately tell you this until it is too late to back out. They did give me one name of someone who they thought would install them though but it is now in the middle of summer and he was not available. The next surprise is that they subcontract the stone work, i.e. the granite island and the quartz counter tops. They do however, do the tile work. Now, in all fairness, they said they would do the granite island but it would cost us more for them to do it than contract it out. HUH?????? I thought that was what their main business was. Paid the 50% deposit, as requested, for all the items, cabinets, tile, granite and quartz. Cabinets were delivered to our job site in boxes of course. The builder did not open them right away since he was still trying to find someone available to install them. It turns out that no one was available so our builder installed them taking him away from building our house. But wait, as he opens the boxes he finds that all the cabinets are veneered, not painted or stained as the contract states, and the bookshelves are also veneered. That's right VENEER!! And that's not the whole story. The corner cabinet in the kitchen was not made correctly and the company not only knew it wasn't correct and they added the correct pieces in the box for someone else to fix. That's right, you read that correctly. Put the correct pieces in the box for someone else to fix. To make matters worse when they were asked to fix the problem they declined and said for our builder to fix it. WHAT?? Now our builder is their subcontractor for fixing cabinet errors? What if he makes a mistake, who pays for that? And, who pays him to fix their error? And, on whose time is he doing this repair? These were all the questions I asked Tiffany Bergerson the daughter of the owner. She finally said they would pay him to fix the cabinet and that he could do it on his own time not ours. Wow, how nice of them. In the meantime I was asked to pay the remaining 50% for all the items including the tile, granite and quartz as they have all arrived at their facility. After everything else is installed I would then pay for the installation labor, the smallest amount of the entire job. I say that because this is where everything falls apart. I have become so angry about the cabinet error and the veneer and in telling Tiffany about my distress she decided they would no longer be involved with us. That's right, they quit saying I was rude and inconsiderate. Not only did she "say" this she screamed at me. I had to ask her to stop screaming several times. I was angry and frustrated, however I am the customer and not once did they ask what they could do to make matters better. Instead they blamed me, the customer, for all that went wrong. Be careful when choosing a business. I should have done more research on Bergerson as since then I have found many people who told me they would never use them mostly due to their high prices and lack of customer service. read more

We recently needed to have a fully tiled shower replaced because of a leaking pan. The plumber investigating our leak highly recommended we contact Bergerson Tile & Stone - he said they are the best around! It means a lot to us when companies are easy to contact, return calls, and basically do what they say they will do. Bergerson was that: + They took our initial phone calls immediately and were able to give us a very good idea of what to expect and the likely costs. + Made an appointment to do a site visit and showed up promptly at the scheduled time. + They have a beautiful show room and were able to walk us through all elements of our planned work paying close attention to all details. + The construction crew regularly showed up when expected, were pleasant and courteous and did a fantastic job on the demolition and rebuild. They also cleaned up the bathroom area nicely at completion, which is saying a lot because of the demolition. While our new shower was designed to be an exact rebuild, the craftsmanship is actually better than the original! We're very pleased to have contacted Bergerson Tile & Stone and give them our unqualified recommendation! read more

I've had the great pleasure of having the Bergerson crew working in my home over the last week or two. While the work is not quite complete, I wanted just to share that these guys are top notch! They have been respectful, knowledgeable, thoughtful, NEAT, precise and ever so pleasant to have around. They have taken great care to make certain the tile layout was just as I wished it to be, I appreciated the painstaking manner in which they laid everything out and measured and took all into consideration before even cutting the first piece of tile. But once they did, they got down to business and knocked out the work. If a question came up, they made sure to check with me. If an unforeseen delay occurred, they called. At the end of each day, everything was cleaned up and a neat workspace was left behind, no messes to walk into. If you are fortunate enough to have Rogue or Matt, Trask or Ginny, Wes or Steve come to do work in your home, know that it will be expertly done. We had a flood in our bathroom that destroyed our floor as well as the shower. Trask Bergerson and his crew torn out, repaired and tiled; leaving an amazing new look. Working side-by-side with Carrie proved to be such a valuable experience. Her knowledge and excellent customer service helped make the selecting, measuring, and ordering an ease...what patience this young lady has!
