If you pay by cash, you buy tickets from the driver. They offer student tickets too but I'm not sure what the restrictions are. This bus terminal is located next to the train station. Before you can find platform N, there's an electronic map somewhere easily visible telling you how to get there. Basically once you pass the train station, keep walking straight and turn right somewhere. Also, it helps to just follow those with suitcases haha. Didn't take the bus here to elsewhere, but it seems to be a very organized bus terminal with everything laid out. The map is a big plus.

While the trip is…read moreconsiderably longer than flying, the route itself is a tourist attraction because it travels through some of the most pristine and scenic country in Norway. The rail also has a cafe car with some delicious pizza and cinnamon rolls. If you're heading to Bergen, I would highly suggest taking the rail instead of flying.

It says so in the vehicles manual and in our NAF app. When we got in line a boy with a meter stick came and measured our car and said we were over 2 meters. Mind you, we park in garages that are for cars no higher than 2 meters often. We always take Colorline and always go in as under 2 m high and under 5 meters long. Never an issue. The fjordline boy made us go back in line and pay a difference of 400 DKr and put us on a waiting list because the ferry was full!! We booked a week ago. So then we went back and asked if we could take the ferry that went 15 mins before ours. They let us, but we had to pay an extra 600 Dkr!!! We had to do it because we couldn't chance not getting on the boat we were waitlisted on. They charged us for over 2m high and 5 m long for that too. When we finally got on the ferry we were on a deck with only regular cars. There were almost no tall cars/vans. Not to mention that the ferry was half empty. I can't believe they put us through that and that we're out so much extra money. We will NEVER use Fjord Line again. I would urge you to consider heavily before choosing them over Colorline for that route.

We got up at 4:00 a.m. to make sure to check in early for our 6:45 a.m. departure from Kristiansand to Hirtshals. But when we got there, they said it was canceled due to weather and we were rebooked to leave at 14:30. The weather is predicted to be worse this afternoon at 14:30, so I don't know why they would delay the ferry. No one ever notified us about any of this. We were planning to only stay for the day, so 14:30 is way too late and we aren't going to Denmark now.

Don't use this company. Taxi service that never shows up. Unhelpful customer service line who…read morebegged me to just wait, but 2 hours and 4 phone calls later could only say that they couldn't force a taxi to do a pick up. There is NO point to having an app and an order service if this is how your company works and also no point in using such an unreliable offer, especially if you are travelling or have an emergency situation. Keep away.
