I live in a 55 and older community. We tried the produce delivery on Mondays. These bags are $5…read moreplus delivery. They do not let you pick them up. Our delivery fee was $10. It's important to note that they advertise this as a farmers market. Because I live in a retirement low income community, they brought extra bags and sold them to our residents. We realize this is left over produce from a sale they have the day before and were not expecting anything fancy. What we got was rotten food and food from the food bank. Lesson learned. The next day, they asked on their social media page for feedback. I posted about the low quality of food and the food bank staples of rice and beans being in the bags. Essentially, we were paying for food bank food. I was not rude. This started a tyrade of text messages. They stated they do not buy the food locally. Rather, they buy it from state vendors and listed Kent and Auburn, Wa. She further stated that if you sell produce, you are a farmers market. Uh, no, you are not. I didn't argue with her. She then said it's leftover food that's marked down and we should be happy with what we got. I told her some people thought the bags were great and we would try again. They then deleted my comment from social media and blocked me from their page. This is sad. 10 of us were heading for that sale next Sunday to pick out our own produce. Additionally, at least 20 people wanted to try the delivery one more time. Now we won't be going at all. That is just riculous. If you can not handle criticism, why ask for feedback? I would have chalked up my experience to a bad first impression. I would not have written a review. I always give places another chance. Given this one-time experience, I would be very leery of buying or taking food from this company. It's appears they are exploiting poor people. You are buying free food bank food. Maybe the in person sale is better. I probably will never know. After the rude customer service I won't go there at allI

We had recently seen members of this community harassed and talk bad about members of this nonprofit but I haven't seen any of the false information they are saying. Thank you for all you are doing.

I just adopted a new baby kitty (so cute!!)…read more I am impressed with the Benton Franklin Humane Society. First of all, I am happy to see they got a new and very nice location! http://www.bfhs.com/ Very clean, well staffed, animals seem very well taken care of. Adoption is the only way to go, and you would do great to visit these guys if you are thinking about adding another member to your family! I paid only $80 for this adorable little girl kitty and that covered some vaccinations, a micro chip and it would have also covered her getting fixed had she been old enough (only 8 weeks now). Plus you get a free vet check up at the vet of your choice within 2 weeks of adopting. Again, that's all for $80 bucks, new animal friend included! They were so kind, and did a thorough job of making sure my kitty was going to a great home. There is much happiness at home now. :) Thank you Benton Franklin Humane Society! This is an organization to support!

Don't go out of your way to adopt a dog from this shelter. I was scheduled to meet a dog on…read moreSaturday morning and told the staff that I would be driving in from Seattle. They assured me that if she was adopted before my appointment, they would let me know. I received one call on Friday but was away from my phone so I couldn't answer. They left no voicemail and sent no email. When I arrived on Saturday, I was informed that the dog had already been adopted. This whole experience was completely unprofessional and lacking basic decency. 7 hours of driving that could have been avoided with one voicemail or one email. Also they were asking for a $500 adoption fee for a senior dog who was surrendered. The dog was already spayed and vaccinated prior to entering the shelter so I don't understand what that $500 covers. For scamming people out of so much money, you'd think they could afford staff that knows how to use a phone.
