I've been here twice and was disappointed with the service both times. The first time we sat at a table for 20 minutes before anyone came over. The second, I called ahead to get on the waitlist, just to show up and find we were never put on the list, and then told we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. No apology. Dinner here was disappointing. Not really a great restaurant. This was recommended by our hotel. (With 3 co-workers) Basically bad pub food. French Onion soup was cold. (Not microwaved enough my guess). Wings were ok. Burgers were not enjoyed by two. The fish and chips, well my guess the fish chef is also the Gordon's Fisherman. On a recent stay in the Malta area, Bestie and I were looking for someplace for a few cocktails after dinner, and to hang out on a Friday evening. We had already been to some of the places in town on other visits to town, and we weren't too impressed with them. So, this being someplace we hadn't been, we decided to try it. There was plenty of off-street parking, and we found a space not too far from the entrance. It was the end of dinner service, and there were a couple of seats at the bar. Within seconds, a bartender took our order, and our drinks were in front of us in no time. Entertainment was provided by a young man with a guitar, whose repertoire ranged from classic folk tunes, to modern pop classics, including a nod to Brittney Spears. The bar filled up while we sat, and we ended staying until the end of his performance. We returned a couple of times during our stay, but never had the opportunity to eat there, but we are planning to do so during our next trip in the area. New to the area. Two time visitor. Servers are cordial, prompt, and attentive. Failures are in the kitchen. First visit - Chicken Quesadilla - easy dish to not screw up, but somehow that happened. Over-cooked chicken was dry to the point that no amount of salsa or sour cream could salvage it. Half to the trash can, Second visit - order a swiss burger medium w/fries. One minute later it is delivered. One minute...no exaggeration...I say to the runner that this can't be mine, are you sure? Oh yes, it's yours. It's obvious this dish is either a mistake that was re-purposed, or that they "pre-cook" their burgers to come out fast. No swiss on the burger (server admitted mistake) but lackluster taste and a less than "hearty" burger (estimate weight below 1/4 pound) didn't justify a $14 price tag. I had heard many good things about Bentley's from my partner who loves to talk about how him and his friends used to stop there for some junk food on their way home from school- I love a good bar food menu, so the idea of going to check it out was intriguing, but we always ended up somewhere within walking distance of our apartment while we lived in Saratoga. Having moved out of town last year, it hadn't crossed my mind again until last night: My mom's 50th birthday. Mom had heard about their birthday wing special- free wings in the amount of your age- From what I understood beforehand, it sounded like the wings were free *only* if you finished them all, and that they were bone-in. My mom, dad, brother, partner and I all met up to pitch in to finish the wings, but when we got there I was pleasantly surprised to learn the wings are just free, the only stipulation is that you can't take them home, and boneless is an option. You can also choose up to 4 sauce flavors. We ordered 50 boneless wings- Medium, Garlic Parm, Asian, and Honey BBQ. 4 cups of blue cheese which were add ons. They were SO good, to me almost seemed like hand chopped and breaded chicken tenderloins- definitely not your typical frozen sysco nuggets. Crunchy on the outside but juicy on the inside. Can't go wrong with garlic parm. Medium was a good buffalo sauce but quite mild. Asian and honey BBQ were really sugary and that's just not my thing- but the table loved them. We also got soft pretzels and nachos to split among us. Standard pub fare fresh and hot, the cheese sauce on the nachos and on the side of the pretzels was the same, and seemed to be made in house. The birthday girl ordered a birthday drink- a blue coconutty concoction that came in a novelty plastic cup that she could take home. Not gonna lie, I was expecting a gut rot liquor mixed drink with a hue like that- but to my utter shock it was smooth and really not even as sickeningly sweet as I'd imagined. They were BOGO for her birthday. My brother ordered a Saratoga Mule which was also very good.. either these drinks were expertly mixed or they didn't actually contain alcohol and I choose to believe the former I ordered a draft Fiddlehead- again, you can't go wrong. The server was very sweet and accommodating to our sometimes odd requests ("can you put everything on the nachos on the side, except the beef and cheese?") as well as very attentive and accurate. All in all I am very impressed and Bentley's went waaaay above and beyond my expectations for a local bar with pub food. I would get drinks and junk food here any day. We stopped in for a quick bite last week. Our server was amazing. French onion soup was great, I didn't care for the crunchy onions on top as I'm a traditionalist. I picked them off and ate separately . Nachos were a letdown and the strangest nachos I've ever had. The shredded chicken wasn't seasoned and the cheese wasn't nacho cheese or real cheese. I actually think it may have been cheese for macaroni that had broken. Flavor was incredibly bizarre especially with the cilantro crema, which tasted much more of lime. Of course we went for free Birthday wings... The best attribute of this restaurant is the patio which is spacious, mostly shaded by the restaurant in the evening, and comfortably appointed. Inside looked spacious and upscale, a nod to Adirondack style with rock accent walls, great soft lighting and comfortable seating. The wings were fine... on the small side, perfectly crispy and mixing up the dozen or so sauce combinations was fun. The rest of the menu is pretty standard Capital Region pub fare of sandwiches, salads and noshes. Our group ordered a variety of choices- burgers, quesadillas, Cuban sandwich, fish sandwich....it was all fine. I was surprised how conservative the beer choices were. There were hardly any craft choices, and mostly dominated by the standard American warhorses. NY state is home to so many great breweries now, I wish there were more regional breweries and kinds of beer represented. Considering how upscale and refined the physical restaurant is, the beer list seems far less thoughtful; it's as if both the beer and food menu are designed for less-sleek digs. We found the staff swift and thoughtful. They worked hard to accommodate our group of 12 hungry and loud diners. There was plenty of room to accommodate us on an early Sunday evening- which was a big plus. It was a pleasant experience. I've been to Bentleys several times in the past and never had issues. I went there on July 16, 2023, to celebrate my boyfriends birthday with some friends. We arrived and were told it would be about 35 minute wait, so we waited at the bar. After 20 minutes, we noticed several tables were available to seat our party of four. They just needed to be cleaned. I went to the host and asked how much longer it would be, she said at least 35 minutes. I asked why people who came in after us were being seated in the back room and about the 3 empty tables in the main dining area that were empty for 20 minutes. She said that there's a lot of people ahead of our group, even though the only people in the restaurant waiting at that time was my group. I went back to my group to let them know it could be another 35 minutes. Five minutes later, the hostess comes over to us and the table that sat empty for twenty minutes is now available. No apologies to us for the unnecessary wait, probably will not go back to Bentleys after this experience. read more

Understaffed and food was just ok. They do have a great balsamic vinegar dressing for salads. I had a cheeseburger and fries. The food and drinks are a bit overpriced too. One tall glass of Kendal Jackson was $15.00. They also have too many pub style tables, not great for anyone with a disability or children. read more

Good above average tavern. They're popular for a Wednesday night and we're quite busy. Took 5 minutes before anyone served me a drink at the bar. Wings were great as garlic parm and I had a side of their hot sauce which was great. Then had the Bentleys Burger, bunless style, also great flavors. Only tip when at the bar is that the bartenders also have to get destracted by servicing the patrons and their Quick Draw lottery tickets on top of their normal duties. read more

Ate here while traveling for business for lunch. Wigs and fries were good. Place is clean and nice, good atmosphere and service. Hot wings should have been a little more hot.. Don't waste your time. Service for dinner last night for a party of seven was horrible. We went for a birthday (free wings) and our server knew it was a 18% tip no matter what. She didn't bring any ranch or blue cheese as requested and I ordered a sandwich that never showed up. She kept blaming others for not remembering our ordered items. I'm a local who works in the area. Went to Bentley's for my birthday this week for my birthday . It was the first time we been here, staff is friendly, decor is nice for a Tavern. So as I said it was my birthday and you get free wings up to your age. Well have to say we couldn't get my age worth. Bentley's is another in the string of The Mill and The Rusty Nail and I believe they all share ownership. Went in for dinner with some friends recently. Food- 2.5 Stars Wifey got a philly cheese thing on the healthy menu. She was very meh about it but it was perfectly edible (not much else to say) I got a turkey Reuben. Lacking Russian dressing (hardly any at all), and desperately needed some. Fries were good at least. We ordered poppers for the table, they were OK but came out with canned salsa as the side... which is just kinda odd. Service- 1 Star "seat yourself" doesn't work when it's a busy weekend night. We basically had to track a waitress down, tell her we had 6, then wait a while for her to push tables together. While friendly enough the table service was SLOW. We were there for quite a while. Atmosphere- 3 Stars. Typical bar/pub with TV's everywhere. Drinks- 3 Stars. Decent selection and beers were cold. read more

I've eaten at Bentley's numerous times, and overall it's not a bad place. I don't rank it in the top ten establishments I've visited, but I also wouldn't put it at the bottom ten either. SETTING: Bentley's tries to present itself as a family-friendly bar n' grill, but I think the approach is a bit half-hearted. It isn't a dive bar by any stretch of the imagination, but it doesn't know how to make the atmosphere appropriate. It's a single large room with self seating and dim lighting. Of course, it's noisy and even boisterous at times if there is a big sports game going, so the family-friendly aspect only rears its head during earlier parts of the day or on weekdays when it's not as crowded. The restaurant gets exceedingly noisy on weekends when the live bands play music. FOOD: The edible items here can be hit or miss. If you order their boneless wings, you're almost guaranteed a constant hit, whereas I cannot say the same for their burgers. I don't think their chef(s) knows how to cook a burger properly. The couple times I've ordered one I ask for them done medium, and they come out blatantly well done to the point of dryness and no flavor. The Greek lamb balls taste rather good, though they do tend to come out a little dry. At least the yogurt sauce served with them helps counteract that. Menu pricing seems reasonable and in line with most establishments of this caliber, so the value is adequate. SERVICE: The service here tends to be better if you sit at the bar where you have someone within arm's reach. If you sit at one of the tables, your wait times generally increase. This is one of the aspects I wish Bentley's would improve if they want to have an environment more conducive to families. It doesn't speak well of your establishment when your staff caters more to the bar junkies than it does to the table-top patrons. TLDR: Bentley's is an OKAY restaurant with adequate food and fluctuating service. At the end of the day, it's just another place to eat and isn't anything special. read more

Came here due to hotel front desk staff recommendation. Had the 'bentley burger' with sweet potato fries - very tasty! Good selection of different beers on tap, but I wish they had more local stuff. Nicer atmosphere than a typical pub. Very clean. read more

The worst food and service. We went on Friday the 29th and service was extremly slow. The restaurant wasn't all that busy. I ordered "Perfectly baked Mac and Cheese. it was worse than Kraft. I was embarrassed that any restaurant could serve slop like that. My hubby's hamburger was dry like it was left over from three hours prior. Service is absolutely horrible here; on several different visits. we had two grumpy bartenders and three different waiters/waitresses interact with our table throughout the night. At least two of the wait staff were nice enough but very slow and inattentive. No one checked on us, we had to flag down staff for more drinks on multiple occasions and it was dead in there and wait staff just standing around. The food was just ok. Burger undercooked and fries undercooked. No one checked on us to see how everything was. Overall Rude and completely unwelcoming. Again this was several diff visits. I will not return. read more

Honestly it makes me sad that restaurants like these could be good if they just put in the effort. I came here after their sister restaurant, The Rusty Nail had an hour wait. Anyways for an appetizer I ordered the mozzarella sticks and wings. The mozzarella sticks were the cheap generic frozen kind from Sysco. I don't understand why restaurants actually serve these. They are chewy, bland, and small. In addition, the wings were nothing special. The "Stoner" wings were crispy, but they were flavorless and a bit dry. The medium wings were the same, but with even less flavor. Then it was onto my entree. Now, I understand having a small menu, but this was ridiculous. There was about 10 items on the menu. So I decided to order the Bentley Burger with tavern fries. I ordered the burger medium, but it was well done. Also, the bun was toasted which is nice, but not when it's burnt. I barely could bite the bun it was so hard. Also, the burger came with "tiger" sauce, but there was so little of it on the burger that I couldn't even tell you what it tasted like. To continue, the caramelized onions on the burger were way undercooked so it tasted like I was eating raw onions. Additionally, they didn't put any cheese on the burger which made it even worse. In contrast, the best thing here was definitely the tavern fries. They were crispy, tasty, and the cheese and bacon helped elevate the flavor. Also, the wait time was ridiculous. I was in a big party, but it took over an hour for food which is just unacceptable. In conclusion, Bentley's is a massive disappointment and is not worth spending money at, but if you do come here get the tavern fries. read more

Let's start with the service..... The worst I have ever seen. I have been in the service industry for 20+ years. It's not only the server that took our order, but every server that we came in contact with. I hate this, but I will point out the bartender as the worst! While we were waiting "15 mins" for, not a table" but for someone to just greet us" in a place that was not even 25% full, we noticed a check on a table that had a 10% tip! We went to Bentley's to celebrate a birthday since they began their birthday free wings special. The staff was attentive and the bar has a nice pub like feel. However the wings served were abysmal at best. They were old and dry. Not what I expected at all since I have gone to the Rusty nail for the same special and they were delicious. I realize that all restaurants are struggling due to Covid but if you are going to serve subpar food because of the birthday deal then don't offer it. People will understand.
